Every song on "Nightfall in Middle-Earth" is great, the whole album is a pure masterpiece. And while the atmosphere at a concert is always great, there's no harm in listening to a studio version for better sound quality.
For those of you who have read the Silmarillon and The Lord of the Rings by JRR Tolkien you probably knows what this song is about. Noldor was the Elves who immigrated West to Valinor from Middle Earth. For those of you who havent read the books nor watched the movies the lyrics from this song must be like..."huh??" 😅
This video is exactly from the time I was listening to Blind Guardian (and hundreds of other bands 😂)... Did you say 20 years ago? Dammit, I am really getting old. 😱
Andre is truly one of the best metal guitarists - permanent leads and such a clean way of playing. I even think one time he was part of the TOP 100 Metal guitar players (rank 86 or so).
Blind Guardian crowds are on a whole other level from your normal insane metal crowd. Of course, Blind Guardian are on a whole other level from your normal metal band Definitely keep diving in deeper!!!!
Yep, us Blind Guardian fans can be quite fanatic. I have Nightfall in Middle-Earth record cover tattooed covering my whole back :😀 They are a big thing in the metal scene, but maybe not as huge as the insane crowd might suggest 😉 They are well known for being a "singalong band"
This song is from their masterpiece Nightfall in Middle-Earth based on J.R.R Tolkien's Silmarillion, which is kind of an Epoch of the world of Lord of The Rings. The song is about Fingolfin the high king of the Noldorian elves challenging the dark god Morgoth to a duel.
The spoken part was Morgoth talking to Sauron. The song is about the Great Elf Fingoflin’s challenging the Dark Valar Morgoth to single combat. A battle he cannot win but wounds Morgoth 7 times with wounds that will never heal. Fingolfin’s death was the death of the greatest warrior of Middle Earth. It shows the futility of the Noldor’s war with Morgoth. The end sings of his death.
@@alphacritter5398 Yea, I'm ashamed of myself not to have made this correction. I'm not sure I can call myself a Tolkien fan anymore with a clear conscience :D
Their songs are "anthems", the chorus is made for the crowd to sing along with. I guess that is a trait of all power metal, but BG do it better than anyone.
This video is from their DVD Imaginations through the looking glass as mentioned on the screen at the start. Video quality is probably caused by UA-cam or whoever uploaded it.
My recommendation is Blind Guardian - curse my name, it's quite different from most of their other songs but damn do i love it. One of my favourites. You won't find a music video except a (very good) fan one, still i highly recommend it.

The movies wouldn't help with this one as it is from Silmarillion
8:25 "We are getting old....but with class and elegance"
Hope you don't mind if I steal this line ;)

I would recommend the whole concert! I would definitely watch a reaction of that! Much love from Cluj-Napoca!

My favourite Blind guardian song is, "Imaginations from the other side".😊
a merchantofalba reaction! my day is saved!
Their lyrics are inspired on the Lord of the Rings stories
Not all, but this one certainly is. Most of their lyrics are definitely inspired by fantasy literature.
Silmarillion
@@alphacritter5398 and the Silmarillion inspired another GREAT PROG BAND: Marillion.

@@antoniocarlin5026 wow, I didn't know this! I always thought that they just had a really bad name :D
Try their another song from Cassandra. Based on the Iliad. Blind Guardian - And Then There Was Silence.
One if my favourite songs. So epic with different styles evolving as the story goes on.

If you like Hansi‘s voice and guitars, so try demons & wizards - fiddler on the green - live at Wacken 😊

There is a cover of this song by Martin Schnella and Melanie Mau, listen to it in case you don't already know.
Even Markus Siepen commented there.
