Regarding bones in vinegar... My garden supply sells a 30% white vinegar... The standard kitchen variety is 5%. Try that with the 30% and see what happens... AND -- I'm still waiting for maple syrup cotton candy!!! Or maple candy cotton candy!

You usually lose the anchor and chain, and it destroys the anchor raising windlass. There are videos of this happening on UA-cam. They're worth watching because the ship's anchor chain is a lot bigger than your ball chain, but does exactly the same thing. The noise is deafening.
I saw someone do the chain one in class once. The sarcastic/weird/funny/cool kid stood on a table and did the experiment. He did not fall, although he’s broken two to three bones in this school year. The experiment was one or two days after Mardi Gras , so he collected a lot of beads to put together.
