If I asked her for either her gold ball or her fish head, she would bring it to me. Dang, I miss Xander. She wasn't yet ten when she boarded the Rainbow Bridge.

Paste Eater yeah my partner is quite allergic to both dogs that shed and cats... so she lives on antihistamines and we have 3 dogs and 2 cats, all but the youngest dog were her idea to get and 3 were actually birthday presents that she begged for. I don’t know if they make my allergy symptoms worse too because I have a condition where I react to almost everything, but I also would rather put up with the symptoms than live without animals. I feel so sorry for people who are too severely allergic to be able to make that choice because animals are like 90% of what maintains my mental health!

Hey Callie, our orange tabby “Tom” knows when we come home from the grocery store with celery. He sniffs around until he finds the bag and then nibbles and rubs on the celery leaves. Turns out that celery is in the same family as catnip.
While celery and kiwi fruit may have a smell to then that attracts cats similar to catnip, none of the 3 are actually in the same family. Catnip is in the family Lamiaceae, celery is in the family Apiaceae, and kiwi is in the family Actinidiaceae. Lamiaceae is the mint family, which is easily identified if you feel the stem of the plant, which feel like a square rather than being rounded like most plant stems.

I also made cat toys (mouse size toy mouse) of leftover fabrics, but I sewed them, and they didn't have wire or glue or plastic parts. And I tried the cucumber thing once, my cats sniffed it, then ignored it. XD

My cats love pumpkin mixed in with their canned food. It provides more moisture and fiber which most cats lack, especially as they get older. I hope Jack & Sally bring you many years of purrs and happiness. 😻

If you have a paper bag and two cats, cut a corner off one of the bags (about an inch and a half or slightly larger). My cats LOVED taking turns in the bag and pawing at one another through the hole.
Freeze dry different kinds of paint and put them with some clothing in a washing machine and see if you can paint the clothes! Also try to tumbler them! Like so they see it! ↓

A protein in the saliva is the primary allergen. So yup, makes perfectly sense that you'd react from being licked.
My dad only has a reaction when my cats get really close to him because the saliva is in the cats fur because they clean themselves with their saliva.

I think it depends. I am allergic to cats but I certainly wouldn't be depressed because of that. Granted, I am a cat person regardless of being allergic to them.
