    Did you cut the flower stems before you put them in the liquid? When flowers are cut originally, they seal the cut so you have to cut them again for them to be able to absorb liquid.

    • @16Theo

    In the original video, the “glowing” carnations look like they’re being lit from behind and below by a green light and then toplit in blue. As we can see from the dipped flower, the glow wouldn’t come only from the outside petals, as in the original, but very strongly from the inner petals as well.

      What

    • @adampham8945
      @adampham8945 5 років тому +85

      It wasn’t the grape, maybe it needs to be cold too, but the water was not cold enough. For something like to remotely work, it needs to sit in the freezer for just under an hour. Besides, the action of pouring the water alone will trigger the water to freeze a little.

    • @Metrion77
      @Metrion77 5 років тому +104

      There's a variety of reasons why it wouldn't work. This experiment that they showed CAN WORK, but they need to change some variables.
      1. The grape video suggests it only takes 5 minutes. Even if they left the ice bowl in the freezer, it'd still probably take closer to an hour for it to drop from room temperature to freezing. Water just doesn't lose heat that fast.
      2. The grape video suggests any water will work, but you actually need pure H2O (distilled water). As part of freezing and forming crystals, the freezing process needs a starting point. In most water, there are floating minerals that can kick off the freezing process, but distilled water doesn't have anything. It's just H2O. You need to pour it onto something, or shake air into it, which causes it to freeze instantly.
