Team Service Announcement #29: The Kritzkrieg
Вставка
- Опубліковано 3 жов 2024
- The Kritzkrieg is a very powerful Medigun with it's 25% faster Ubercharge rate, and crit boosting ability that can clear out crowds of enemies easily. However, it is almost useless against Engineer buildings, which do not take additional damage from critical hits. Try using it in defensive situations where enemies must come to you and you don't have to worry as much about sentries.
The best option for Medics on the attacking team is the stock Medigun. The invulnerability will make taking out the inevitable sentry nest so much easier for your team. Also, because only compression blasts, and other invincible players can stop you, most classes that would otherwise wall your team's progress will have to retreat to avoid getting killed.

Please. I need a video of just the end...
Hey was geht
If you ever played 100% crits, you will learn REAL fast that sentries are immune to them.
1:20 I want this to be an actual taunt. The engy sitting on the sentry.
WhiteGlas i come from the future, there is one
@@laurence2987 no there is none
Ok but what about Soldier?
spy was replace by pyro as the actual taunt :(
@@ireneshelton3661 soldier recently got one to ride on a rocket
The way the Engineer pops out from behind the Dispenser after hearing the explosion, like some kind of meerkat, and his 'oh noes' response when told his team's dead, is really adorable.
Spy just wanted to ride his pony.
You silly fool. That is not a pony, but the legendary Balloonicorn, municipal obudsman of Pyroland!
.__.
Ballonicorn is based on unicorn pony. Plese go read TF2 reference article before you post such dumb nonsense.
Do you actually think I DIDN'T know what a Balloonicorn was? You didn't even spell it right! I was simply making fun of the fact that it looked like a pony. Goddamnit Bartoz.
Brandon Uenaka You could at least learn to write other nicknames right...
Thanks to this, I now know what Medigun to use for my Medics. The one about Engineer buildings not affected by crit damage is new to me.
Late but you already know that engi still gets crits, and when there is no engi to repair building.. they're destroyed easilly xd
@@bobotomg9933 yeah but its easier for the stock uber since you know? no damage for 8 seconds is good

*Emotional Crit*
Yes the Balloonicorn is funny!
STOP BEING EVERYWHERE :P
That's an official taunt now.
It's good to see another service announcement after a while.
Also I want that last bit as my screensaver
Ricky Turrietta Woah, easy man I ment nothing like that. I just wanted to express my gratitude towards getting these Team Service Announcements, rather than to express hostility towards *not* getting these, you know what I mean?
EDIT: Actually you know what, i'm gonna edit the op just to make sure it sounds nicer.
Ricky Turrietta Yeah. Believe it or not, I've got a lot of remarks on my wording irl xD

How does this work?
Also, the Kritzkrieg is more useful on defense since the attacking team is usually tighter together. Coming around a corner in a group, or pushing the cart together, while a defending team will generally be more spread out around the objective. A well time krit boost will wipe out half of the attacking team with quick explosive death. An Uber still is useful on defense (it can't be ended early by killing the medic/partner, and usually is more useful if your team lacks soldiers/demoman that aren't being knights) but isn't as devastating as your enemies will have a greater chance to retreat.
read the description
notbobby125 I mostly use Quick-fix for defense since I get plenty of ubers in one life and I never have trouble using it, I think it's the fact I don't get over healed or made invulnerable using it, and once I pop uber, it's when enimies are nearby(a lot of enemies) or my team/me are dying
NinjaStar531 A lot of people just mindlessly charge in when ubered. This works with the Medigun and Quick-Fix due to the huge increase in survivability, but the Kritzkrieg doesn't roll that way.
A kritz can work on offense, if the enemy medic is really good. What you do is, switch to kritz, and try to stay out of line of sight. If the enemy med doesn't realize you're packing kritz, it'll throw off his uber timing, and you can catch him in a surprise kritz blitz.
I know this comment is 7 years old, but...
I recently started using the Phlog and indeed, ambushing a team pushing the cart and wiping them all out in seconds really *does* feel satisfying.

You are so fucking rude.
Oh wow man, you're balloonicorn ride made it into the game! Under, "The Balloonibouncer"...wait what? How come I can't find your name on it, unless you go by a different name in that video...
Yeah, I saw that, too. I'm pretty sure someone thieved it.
Vulgarth1 I hope he sees this, and does something about it.
It's a class taunt for pyro, not spy.
tWed Old post, but alright?
While it definitely is a good thing to point out that Kritzkriegs shouldn't be used to attack buildings themselves, or used as a substitute for invulnerability, they CAN be really good and sometimes even BETTER at destroying sentry nests. The problem is that Crits don't do anything for buildings, but it does easily get rid of the engineer constantly repairing them from teammate fire and getting constantly healed from his dispenser. Using the kritzkrieg to buff a grenade or a rocket and explode him while rebuilding it can really do wonders for knocking down a sentry nest when nobody's around to heal the buildings. After that, keeping your distance and chipping the buildings out will get the job done.
In summary, Kritz is bad for destroying buildings, but good for killing the engineer preventing the destruction of buildings. But should only be used when you'e able to hit the engineer and keep your distance.
Sounds interesting, though I know during those 10 seconds I'd be seriously doubting my ability to shoot precisely as needed. I think for most people, the ubercharge is still going to be the safer bet. (And on par with both: Coordinate with a spy on your team to attack the sentry at the same time! A good engineer can deal with a spy, or a big dumb attacker, but NOT both at the same time)
what if there are 6 enigneers (im serious) and half of em got the short cicuit defending the second cap of second stage of dustbowl?
Tumbolisu
At that point, you're better off waiting for all the hype around the short circuit buff to die down. After that, cap away! :D
Alternatively: spies, snipers, and ubers. Oh my!
Michael Neilson how is a sniper gonna help there?
Tumbolisu Sentries, unlike players, will have many blindspots. Setting up a point of defense (either an engi with a teleporter/dispenser, or a sniper) basically traps enemy engineers into a very small area of free movement - so they can't run over to a box of metal without being headshotted. Eventually, your forceful players can then break through. That method of "besieging" a sentry nest has worked for me in some surprisingly tough situations.
10/10 ending. My heart melted with happiness.
0:26 There's always that one guy on EVERY server...
And I'M that guy! :D
You added that bit at the end JUST so someone would make a gif out of it.
Fun fact that not too many people know about: while the rocket launcher is good at smashing buildings, it isn't too good at killing the engy behind them while he's sentry tanking. The Righteous Bison and other such energy weapons might do negligable damage to the sentry, but it will pierce the buildings and do good damage to the engy behind them, forcing him to either A. Run to get health and let you blow his shit up, or B. Die and let you blow his shit up. So if you're having a hard time busting a nest that's being tanked, keep that in mind for next time. You're welcome =)
Unless he has a dispenser nearby like me~
it penetrates every building, and you can just go back to taking potshots at him, then he has 3 choices: Defend his sentry at the cost of his dispenser, defend his dispenser at cost of his sentry, or go get health, and let them both get blown up. Also, the bison does more damage than the dispenser can heal, it might slow it down a little, but the engy will STILL die.
Huh... and for all this time I thought Ray Gun drop was terrible...
Thanks Soldier! :D
Simon Barr another tactic although a lesser effective one is with the Righteous bisons older brother (if inanimate objects have kin) the Cow mangler, its alt attack fires an entire clip that can disable buildings for i believe 1-2 seconds, not sure on the official count. but either way the splash may also catch and engineer on fire killing him if he's weak and leaving him vulnerable with no sentry protection but this costs an entire clip of a weapon with a lower reload start speed so pick your tactic wisely!
iamjusttyler It says in the description of the weapon it disables buildings for 4 seconds
Valve should SO hire you, to help them out doing any animations.
Where did you get that big spring?
It looks like one of the sillygibs, scaled up.
That Spy though XD
Lol
I was...half pyro that moment
can't ya be like that forever?

I'm happy that a new TSA is here! While I don't play TF2 (not yet at least), I deeply enjoy how you make each one hilarious while at the same time being informative. To make a new word, they're hilaritive. :)
That was brilliant! The Engie's Buildings not taking Crits also is new to me. Plain awesome!
Amen to me. I never knew Engi Buildings didn't take crit damage.
Suppose I havta thank TSA for the new knowledge :P
Is that not the point of these? to inform?
A team service announcement based on how many people are on the cart. I doesn't make it go any faster, and are more available to splash damage
Wrong. Speed of cart increases up to 3 people (2 if one's a scout or paintrain soldier/demo), then the speed is capped.
Idea for a future "meta" TSA: Alltalk servers. There's a lot of them. Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if they outnumbered non-alltalk servers. The reason I think they're a bad idea is because if both teams can hear each other, it makes it much more difficult to strategize and communicate effectively.
Sure, most people on both teams don't even bother. I think that's why many games run less than smoothly. However, some of us like to call out warnings or simple advice to the other players on our teams. Maybe there's a well-fortified sentry next ahead, or I just got backstabbed by somebody with Your Eternal Reward and want to warn them quickly. Maybe I'd like to notify the 4 snipers and 3 spies on our team that MAYBE some pushing material is in order as I can only do so much pocketing our one heavy.
More specifically, let's say I'm a scout or spy who notices a poorly-defended flank that I'd like to bring attention to. If I speak up, the other team will hear me, and it kind of defeats the purpose. Sure, I can use team text chat, but that takes much longer, leaves me defenseless, and isn't practical.
I guess what I'd like you do, Mr. Sock Puppet is bring attention to how alltalk servers are bad for team communication.
One time a spy was on the enemy team and he said "Ok I am going to go and sap the sentry then you guys go destroy it" He walked around the corner to be met with the barrel of my gun because of that.
Happy ending
That and reflecting kritzkrieg rockets back at soldiers to kill there medics is hilarious.
"Sometimes, a good offence is also a good defence"
Nice job, seriously.
Possibly my favorite TF2 channel. Awesome work.
Of course, Pyros who can't airblast.
Like me :D
***** Because you use the phlog.
Demospammer9987 I've never used the Phlog, I just can't airblast all dem laggy crockets.
Oh, lag... thou art a heartless bitch.
Homing rockets... if they ever add those to TF2 I will rage with absolute
prejudice...
Welcome back TSAs!
You should add that the medic should still stay a little behind since not having invulnerability makes him (obviously) vulnerable.
Also note that good snipers or well positioned spies are also a threat to your kritz attempt, as a fully charged headshot or a backstab will kill anything that isn't invulnerable.
Team service Announcement: Mini-Sentry Spam
who here actually had tf2 on and heard the pop and checked their tf2 xD
Me!
Scooty :D i might have...... you have no evidence
The beginning and end are awesome.
Something not covered in the video, but there's also the whole "You're not invincible." part of kritz charges. This means the medic or his target can get backstabbed, or headshotted, or just plain shredded. One actually has to be careful on what they used a kritzkrieg ubercharge on. If it's on someone that needs an ubercharge, it's probably going to do nothing.
I don't think Kritzkrieg was meant to promote defensive measures, but to promote offensive acts. The kritzkrieg is in favor of weapons, which goes for the attacking and eliminating threat, which is being offensive. It's not defensive, because it does not protect the medic nor it's healer, unlike the medigun's/Vaccinator's/Quick-fix's ubercharge which promotes and favors defence.
The stock medigun promotes both offense and defense, because it allows invunerability to the pocket which can go for pushes, or to hold a specific point to prevent further enemy strategies.
The quick-fix is defensive as well because it promotes healing and life expectancy for the pocket and medic, maybe the downside is low overheal but the quick healing, quick ubercharge and 200% healing through ubercharge + ignoring airblasts and knockbacks. Also not to forget it allows quicker travel through rocket-jumping or scout taxi'ing. It's not meant to take out nests or large group of enemys, but to support the team to heal it as quickly as possible. For example, my ubercharge is set and my entire team that surrounds me is under 50% of health, I could pop the charge and heal all of them at the same time and still have time to pocket a superior player to hold against an incoming offense.
The vaccinator is defensive because it promotes high-risk high-pay strategies and life expectancy for the medic and pocket. It's extremely useful with it's ability to reduce 10% of damage and nullify crits with the chosen shield type. And how the ubercharge is split into 4 parts, allowing easy switching and/or short protection against incoming attacks. But it's usefullness only comes in for pocketing and not for the whole team.
Really sorry for this wall of text, but for tl;dr the kritzkrieg is offensive and not defensive. If you wish to correct me, then you are more than welcome.
The spy trying to escape was hillarious.
In the silence that followed the missile farting, I farted.
0:16 song name slip away Megas XLR would someone PLEASE find a better audio quality of this song
the ending was beautiful
The ending was heartwarming.
You should do one about Taunts
The end was strangely depressing, satisfying and boredom-inducing at the same time.
I like how at the end, Engie seems to be just so.. At peace with the world.
last scene should be looped with loop melody
it's so calming XD
Spy really enjoy himself...
this medigun is as good as the player you use it on.
which is pubs mean often not that good.
0:27 new taunt!~
That moment when you turn around and see a crit rocket heading straight for you...
Gosh I love the Spy
Angrysockpuppet, you should learn the difference between "its" and "it's". "Its" is used when possessive, and "it's" is used as a contraction (for "it is" or "it has").
Boo!
Hm... I think I can make up a sort of chart for the Mediguns:
Stock: Useful in ANY Situation.
Kritzkrieg: Mainly Crowd Control, but is Moot against Sentries.
Quick-Fix: Quite handy for team survivability, especially Payload, Attack-Defense and Mann VS machine.
Vaccinator: Helps for survivability as well by buffing an ally's defense towards a certain type of damage (The three types being Bullet, Splash [Explosions from Rockets and grenades] and Fire), but it is a little tougher to use, as you must be sure of the damage type resistance you're using. Otherwise... You have a Dead Medic AND Healed guy.
About sentries being immune to crits. While that is true, a rocket will still do a crap ton of damage to it so you might not even need the uber(unless, like you said, it's a nest, in which case you'll need the uber).
The last 20 seconds are so.. calm.
You should really do one on one-on-one melee combat. I always get really annoyed when i think 'This scout is really asking for it...time to pull out manly melee combat.' and then the other player goes and shoots me dead. WHERE HAS THOU HONOR GONE?
Finally someone who think's the same way
If you bring a bat to a gun fight, you're going to have a bad time.
In TF2 it doesn't matter XD
That one was kinda weird...but this is angrysocketpuppet we're talking about, so yeah
One of the songs used here is by someone with the last name of Crockett, very funny dude.
For those of you that don't know, it's true that Engi buildings have crit immunity. Take this example, A Soldier crit rocket does 270 damage and a Lv 3 sentry has 216 HP. That would have meant a one shot kill which would have made the the long build times and upgrade cost for the Engi U.P. and the weapon O.P. Which explains the lesson of OverPowered weapons and UnderPowered weapons
I would add that Kritz combos amazing if you fire stickies while holding down the alt fire button.
Hey sockpuppet. I am having an issue with some people doing this in TF2 and now I have seen more people do it.
It's using your SMG as a sniper.
Frequently, I see too many snipers rely on body shooting the enemy when they are found by the enemy and being chased by them. (i.e. A demo finding the sniper and chasing him as the sniper is running backwards, shooting him with his sniper rifle, sometimes trying to quickscope the demo). This is what makes an SMG useful. People underrate the SMG way too many times, often times with jarate.
But they tend to sometimes overrate the SMG as well, making it their main sniper weapon. This pisses me off more. Nothing pisses me off more than a Sniper trying to kill an enemy from 100 meters away with their SMG.
Please take my request and educate Snipers about how useful the SMG can be
This video predicted the Balloonibouncer. Nice.
RUN SPIE RUN!
That fucking balloonicorn spring was predicted
you should do one on engineers who keep on destroying sappers on their buildings instead of killing the spy that's placing them. As a frequent spy player I find it sad that they're more focus on destroying sappers than stopping the spy that's placing them.
These make such effective points
Ah.. The days when the dalakohs was terrible.
Idk if i share your sentiment about three engie, as the splash damage of a single crit rocket should pop that engie with ease, then taking out his sentry is a piece of cake. I'd be more worried about things like snipers and spys, as they can instantly ruin the uber, and the people being ubered are often more vulnerable, as they rush. Not to mention a good M2 pyro and indirect spam.
Maybe a little unrelated, but I see the quickfix as the best "allrounder".
Please make a TSA about rocket jumping and sticky jumping, or as I call it collectively, explosive jumping. I wanna see how you interpret the Rocket Jumper and Sticky Jumper, which can perform explosive jump without harming yourself but can neither damage enemy.
100% accurate. This happened to me 1 hour ago... I was heavy and 2 medics ubered me with kritzkrieg against 3 sentries... ded in 0,01 seconds. Stupid medics.
This video was the most important TSA so far.
0:26 Adult Swim anyone?
Oh geez,he predicted the Taunt
YES! MORE!
Kritzkrieg is Super fun!
If you are a pyro.....
And the enemy team uses the Kritzkrieg....
on a solider...
at a distance....
and you airblast his medic...
Kritzkrieg!
You ain't got time to be cautious of pyros.. just...RRRR!! attack!!
That fucking spy gets me every time.
I just finished playing TF2 5 minutes ago, and this exact situation happened. (I was the medic). Uncanny!
1:03 , OOH! I LOVE THIS NEW-WEAPON SOUND!!
Aw yiss.
Perhaps a video showing that the cart will only move at x3 speed no matter how many people are on it?
He's already stated it in the description of one of them, look for it.
ah ok.
I don't know if this is too obvious, or if maybe you've already explored this in previous videos and I missed it, but maybe you could explore how other classes besides Spy can deal with Sentries.
You mention how the stock medigun makes it easier to take down sentry nests but other things that might be good to explore are how soldiers and snipers who have good line of sight can stay out of range of it, Demomen can bounce grenades around corners, and really about any class can duck in and out of cover to avoid (or minimize) taking damage from sentries. If I recall correctly, pyros can do a LOT of damage to buildings as well.
Or fuck it all and talk about rocketjumping. That can be anywhere from simple to advanced, really.
That Spy scene was perfection!
Funny enough, one (technically 2) of these rides became actual taunts.
A little bit information: Engineer's buildings (like sentry, dispenser, teleporter...) is 100% resistance to critical hits. but normal damage.
0:28 this should be a taunt!
Funny joke, kritz soldier (especially default rocket launcher) in front of a pyro who didn't die to reflection :o
YAY! :)
1:15 min. PLEASE, ENDLESS VERSION!
You should do an episode on how you shouldn't have one set for everything, and how many items are situational (sort of like in the video) where you dont want a soldier on your team using the pain train when you are defending in payload, and how you dont want a demoknight when a demoman with a sticky can esally kill an engies defenses.
1:15 I think this is what heaven is like
Lovers Carvings.Does that appear in Castle Crashers? It sounds familiar.
Aw shoot, that was my last quarter.
Kritzkreig a Pyro while defending on Payload. It's amazing.
Amazing :)
You will learn of every kind of this videos :)
I've been playing TF2 for years and I still didn't know that sentries don't take additional crit damage. I BE LERNIN.
Woot! TSAs are back!
AND THAT'S WHAT I GET FOR NOT WATCHING THE DEEP SERPENT ASSIGNMENT, HERP A DERP.
Anyway...
I read that you're not fond of the TSA's, and that makes me sad, because I think that you actually give some helpful advice. I don't just watch the videos for the funny animations, I also read the descriptions so that I know what they're trying to teach.
Would you be willing to go into Pyro combat? I main Pyro, and I die only marginally less often than I do with other classes.
***** You need to submit that Balloonicorn ride as a taunt.
Do it.
0:56 it was at this moment soldier and medic know, they f'd up
