Wow! For someone struggling to understand those rules (which are for others common sense) this helps a lot! Wish you did this with more different roundabouts 🤞
Thanks! There’s a second roundabout on the channel done with my usual top-down animation style rather than live. The two videos are in this playlist: ua-cam.com/play/PLscyK-vhYfWzyJKi_g7KthrZX7eCL1afr.html&si=H-rhWPikHrC51hB8
I’m a long way from Watford, and I’m afraid I need to be familiar with a roundabout to do a decent job. Hopefully what I’ve covered in the three spiral videos can carry general principles to other spiral roundabouts.
Thanks for this. Spiral roundabouts (specifically knowing what lane to be in before even joining the roundabout) has always been difficult for me, especially on a bike.
Roundabouts like this are great, provided you can see the signs and road markings. In the dark, or rain, or after a few years of wear and tear, they can be daunting. Refresh your basis roundabout skills regularly, and beware of locals in a rush.
Just got my license last week bought a car and it was the only subject that I was always confused Thank you for the videos makes easier " the idea its always keep in the by side In the left lane with dots if it makes sense
this vid gives me anxiety as a learner driver! lol. Big spiral roundabouts are bad enough, but slip roads are my enemy at the moment! Had my first few attempts at them recently and all that happens is nobody helps me out (slows down or moves lane to let me on despite me going like 60mph) and i've basically nearly killed me and my instructor both times so far!! lol
As your knowledge and experience increase, your anxiety will reduce, as you become more sure that you’re doing the right thing. Normally it’s too low a speed that causes trouble on slip roads but it sounds like that’s not your problem. Are you looking early enough to predict where a gap could appear?
Thanks so much for this. It is very helpful. I struggle with large roundabouts, lane selection/positioning 🙈
You’re welcome 😊 and thank you.
I’ve not made a video for a long time but hopefully I’ll get around to a few more!

You’re very welcome. It’s a topic many novice and even experienced drivers struggle with. Hopefully it’s helped.

Good advice.
