Right explanation make the things easier and simpler. Great Effort. I was confused with roundabouts too much.......and this simplified many things especially on-road markings.....thanks👍
I don't know who you are, I just want to thank you for this video from the bottom of my heart as I have passed my driving test today because of this video. I was being trained from someone else but this video is one of the reasons for my success, as you clearly explained the round about in a clear and understandable way, which I can't forget throughout my life. Thank you for all your efforts.
YOU ARE MY HERO. I’ve passed but was never taught any of this as only small simple roundabout on my test routes so have butchered every more complicated one since. Finally a proper explanation!!!!!!
Thank you! Your videos are so clear and well explained. I’m scared of roundabouts because I often get lost in it. Hopefully with the help of your videos and more practice I can get it one day❤
Remarkable instruction! Really clearly explained, the coloured lane overlays were 10/10 and by the last example I had a picture in my mind of how the lanes split into the five and where the car needed to be positioned for the exit in advance.
These are so easy to understand and have just the right amount of information needed. The best explanation by far. 👏👏👏👏Need more videos of the same kind with like coming off of a motorway and going to city centre etc
Glad it was helpful! We love making these videos so nice feedback I always nice. Unfortunately they can’t take 50 to 100 hours to make so they don’t happen quickly
Just want to say a massive thank you for your clear and thoughtful instructions. Been struggling a lot on big roundabouts whilst learning and this has really helped.
Big thanks for this video - just passed my driving test in Basingstoke. I'm not local to the area so this was incredibly helpful and very well explained.
Passed my test today thank you so much for this video I didn’t understand spiral roundabouts at all around last week if it wasn’t for this I wouldn’t have passed thank you so much ❤️
9:55 yes it definitely would have been very useful and very helpful to put a left arrow and a right arrow on lane 1 on the road sign but usually on a spiral roundabout lane 1 goes to the 1st exit and the 2nd exit, knowing that information can be extremely helpful and extremely beneficial.
Brilliant 👏 Your explanation and calm manner have really helped me so much, especially mirrors Bob and Tom 🚗. Thank you for making these great videos! I passed today !!!
Excellent explanation of how to tackle this roundabout. Well done! Good point made about poor signage. I will add my two penny worth about the road signs: Would it not have been better to use curved left and right turn arrows on the road signs where necessary, rather than only hard right/left angle arrows? Most multilane roundabouts around the England use curved arrows on the signs to indicate a curved turn off.
Great Video thanks. I’d suggest looking at coming from Winchester Road roundabout direction and heading to South Ham on this roundabout. The leader dots take you to the far right (inside lane), if you catch the next sign early it wants you in lane number 3 of 4 so you have to then switch back left immediately, which is quite frankly dangerous. Also have you thought about covering Thornycroft roundabout in Basingstoke too? There are some misleading markings on that roundabout that encourage drivers to go around the outside of you. Example, coming from Hospital direction, going right 3rd exit (South Ham, B3400). Why don’t they have right arrows on the floor/signs so everyone knows it’s the far right lane only, for all instances of right 3rd exit on this roundabout?
Thanks, glad you like it, Unfortunately I’ve never sat in on a road planning meeting where they decide these things, But based on some bits I’ve picked up over the years a lot of it is to do with traffic flow. So maybe the percentage of cars going from Winchester road round to south ham is very low, so was taken into account when deciding how to use the space they had? I don’t know just theories based on 24 years on the road We have thought about thornycroft, and it is on the list 👍
Thank you very much! I was very confused the last time I was there (and got honked at!). Can we also have a video please from Popley direction via Aldermaston roundabout to the (N Hampshire) Hospital? Thanks
I am an absolute beginner, thank you so much all of your videos are really really helpful. I am still nervous to handle roundabouts , I truly believe I will improvise taking hints yours. Could you please make videos on Mirror checks while lane changing / cross roads understanding and road markings to think independently? This channel is simply brilliant thank you again for all your efforts 😊
Hello Ian, really helpful video, thank you! Would you be able to clarify one thing for me? What are the rules for signalling when taking 3rd exit? (Just generally on a multilane spiral roundabout)I feel like when I would be signalling right when going around, it will get confusing for other drivers as they may think that I want to change lane. What's your view please?
Absolutely, consider the positives and negatives of a signal, if it can be at all misleading don’t do it. Our position is a massive signal especially on a spiral, so even without a flashing signal on we are still giving signals with our position. Hope this helps, and sorry for the really slow reply
Thank you With signals, always think to yourself, is it misleading? If it’s not then do it, In that situation, it could help someone trying to cross the road you are about to exit on, so would help them Hope this helps
Great video! I've been driving for over 20 years, but I'm really struggling with Cranbourne/Viables TO South Ham. Whatever I do that combination still feels awkward! Please do you have any advice for that one?
Hi, for example 5, is it OK if I signal to go left but I immediately cancel before I enter the roundabout? The same goes for example 1, when taking the third lane on approach to the roundabout. Is it OK if signal right then immediately cancel?
You dont have to be perfect, just safe. So yes if you do a wrong signal and cancel it in plenty of time then that fine. just be aware of people around you that might now be confused by your actions, so dont be mad they confused by you. :)
Right explanation make the things easier and simpler. Great Effort. I was confused with roundabouts too much.......and this simplified many things especially on-road markings.....thanks👍

You're very welcome! If you watch all the video, most of these things are covered in part or full 👍
Your video was really helpful. I passed my driving test today!

Spiral roundabouts where I live have one sign approaching the roundabout then only road paint without the dots to help you. Up north
They differ even here, some are good, some are bad, but learn from these examples and try and work out the best way for each one you arrive at :)

Excellent teaching! 🎉
Just a question, for traffic lit rounabouts, do you still have to signal when exiting?
Thank you

Do sat navs (Google or Waze) indicate which lane to be in as you go round the roundabout?
Some do, some of the time but they can be wrong too
Great video !
Glad you enjoyed it, good luck with your test
@@ThinkDriving thank you , I have ADI part 2 coming soon , trying to prepare myself as much as I can 😊
@bensonandaga ah, good luck 🤞🏻
very helpful
Glad you think so! And thank you for taking the time to comment
This is the most clear and concise course I have ever seen, but I don't understand what TOM and BOB mean, why you called them Tom ,Bob
TOM is teenager on moped, and BOB is boy on bike
It’s to help you remember to look for them, as they are vulnerable and not just bikes but people
Im confused in first clip you go out from 4th exit but on the video you are sayin 5th 🤔
Hi, we do go 5th exit. First is M3, second Oakley, third South Ham, 4th A30 and 5th Cranbourne 👍👍
The 3rd and 4th are really close to each other
cheers
No worries :)
I am that danger one kkkk be alert
It’s good you are trying to learn tho 👍
