I saw this movie in the theater, and the lust murder still haunts me to this day. It's one of very few movie scenes of any genre that has made my skin crawl in an incredibly visceral and painful way. Fincher's aesthetic was perfect for this film.
My absolute favorite serial killer film. There are other greats, obviously, but there's something about Se7en that keeps me coming back. The mood, the look, the performances, the methodical way it unfolds is flawless.
Such a great reaction. Love watching Rekkai go through the motions of regret of not seeing it before, the admiration of of the story, the acting, etc. Looking forward to watching more of you guys!
First time viewer here. I've watched about a dozen other channels react to this movie, which I'm sure is why UA-cam recommended it to me. You guys have had the most thoughtful, in depth analysis of this film and the nature of good and evil that I have ever heard. Just great, and I love the Star Wars comparisons. I will definitely be tuning in to more of your reactions.
I belive that Mills wasn't even the original target. When John Doe called them and he let them know that he had to readjust his schedule based upon "today's little setback", I think he incorporated Mills into his plans
David Fincher has made so many great movies: Gone Girl, Zodiac, FIght Club, The Game, and the very underrated The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, and more.
David Fincher should have directed the Girl in the spiderweb. I would love to see his take instead of the shit that was released by another director.😅 Dave's version much better.
Girl with the Dragon Tatoo is just as dark in my opinion. But the refinement of experience is also very evident. Finchers series 'Man Hunter' on Netflix is another fantastic example of his vision and work.
Love this and the best discussions afterwards. Love the legit analysis of themes concepts characters etc. and it’s like your pages are companion pieces to each other, yay! Seven is my favorite of his, but the way Fincher shoots is also very-well demonstrated in The Game. He sets up suspense and realization in a way that nobody else seems to do.
Saw this film week after it's release with my bestie bro. The cinema was absolutely silent as the film end credits rolled and no one moved. Our 35min drive back home was just as silent. We knew we had witnessed cinematic brilliance, but we just didn't appreciate fully until we re-watched it. Cinematography, colour grading, script, filter and vignette use and above all the acting from every main character was absolutely on point. Thanks for sharing fellas. Best wishes from across the pond. 🎥📽️❤
As a Brad Pitt fan of over 30 years, I can say he started getting leading roles after A River Runs Through It. He had a small role, before that, in Thelma and Louise that really opened the door for larger roles. He did have a leading role in Johnny Suede, but I may the only one who saw that. What skyrocketed his career was the back-to-back filming and releases of Interview With The Vampire and Legends of the Fall, in the same year (1994). He filmed Legends first, had a month off, and filmed IWTV. They were released in the opposite order. IWTV was released in November and Legends had a big Christmas Day release. His career soared after that and has not come down. The phenomenon of 1994 allowed him to start asking for $7 mil per picture (which was a lot). He was also named sexiest man alive 2 years in a row. I remember this year so well. This film is his next and where he met Gwyneth
This is an AMAZING movie, from the writing, to the acting, to the directing, to the set design. It's just awesome. BUT it's very dark and does require some deeper thought than a standard thriller. It's why this movie sticks out in people's memory. You gentlemen did a great job on this one!
This movie is one of my favorites of all time, and Morgan Freeman's, Brad Pitt's, and Kevin Spacey's performances in this movie are absolutely incredible.
Fun Fact: There was written ending where Somerset and Mills ended up drawing their guns at each over whether or not to kill John. But instead of Mills doing it, Somerset shoots and kills John. Mills in shock would ask "What are you doing?" Somerset would answer "I'm retiring" walking away and dropping his gun.

I was not actively searching reaction video of se7en, this video got auto played after I watched Chris Stuckmann's se7en review. indeed one the finest diamond films of the 90's. BTW if you enjoyed S7ven, you guys must watch "the Game" from the same director David Fincher (he also directed Zodiac) I remember the very day I watched the film in theater with my closest friends and walked out in shock with so many questions & thoughts about John Doe's masterplan -which brings up very important dark topics about society that we seem to ignore & be apathic by "because they're common, accepted -even embraced" under the current social construct"

Yo if y'all want a good movie that dances with the psychological terror of hereditary Good and evil look at the Ryan gosling movie a place beyond the pines
I do not want to sound like a hater, but I genuinely dislike reaction videos. I feel most of those videos are without substance and just people acting way too surprised and not even talking anything about what they are reacting at. I was not actively searching reaction video of se7en, this video got auto played after I watched Chris Stuckmann's se7en review.
Your video changed my perspective, this was not only people acting surprised, it was two smart intelligent men discussing about a movie (that's why I love RedLetterMedia videos so much)
I thank you guys for your reaction, you guys got a new fan.
Thank you so much for this tremendous comment. It really means a lot to both me and Rekkai to know that people are enjoying our content. We hope to see you again really soon.
If you havent watched it another great movie with a great villian is One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest. It has Jack Nickelson and a great villian named Nurse Ratched, and yes, the name fits lol
I have never seen that movie.
Great suggestion.
@@Syntell ty. You wont be disappointed if you decide to react to it, I promise 💙
Too much explosive laughter. Especially at the end which is serious. It’s annoying guys
For real
👀👀👀👀👀👀👀what's in the box?!?!❓⁉⁉
Kevin Spacey is one fucked up guy but DAMN can he act.
Y’all cut the hell outta this movie 😂😂😂
Gwyneth Paltrow and Pitt were a couple at the time they did this movie.
Really. Brad seems to have a knack for shaking up with his fellow co-stars.
@@Syntell They were engaged, I think. He went to Weinstein and told him to leave her alone too.
I love this film,Morgan's da boss.😊 aussie girl x ♥️
Bahahaha... a permanent stutter!
indeed one the finest diamond films of the 90's. BTW if you enjoyed S7ven, you guys must watch "the Game" from the same director David Fincher (he also directed Zodiac)
I remember the very day I watched the film in theater with my closest friends and walked out in shock with so many questions & thoughts about John Doe's masterplan -which brings up very important dark topics about society that we seem to ignore & be apathic by "because they're common, accepted -even embraced" under the current social construct"
