- This is how we have added quirky wooden window frames and some mosaic tiles in our self built diy campervan conversion. Our build is really starting to come together now and finishing touches are really making it start to feel like a proper home on wheels.

Most of this is used to keep emilys snack cupboard topped up but occasionally she lets Lou have
some to buy the dog treats!
I had no idea how I was going to frame my windows in my conversion .... THANK YOU!
No problem at all, glad you found it useful, good lu k with your van 😁👍
I cut my wood and when i came back the next weekend to assemble it was all twisted and warped 😥.
Always wondered how you get a really good window frame in a van. Now I know. You have some great skills.
Thank you so much 😁👍
You two are absolutely brilliant 😉...l love the window 🖼
Thanks Julia 😁👍
You guys are awesome, this is really going to help us frame out our windows 👍 very much appreciate your videos! 👌
The tiles are great shows you can turn you hand at any thing EMILY love to AJ xx
I so can 🤣
Hi Emily & Louise. Must have missed this video. Really nice job. Your kitchen area is looking very good. All the best.
Cheers Barry
Those tiles look sweet!
As for applying silicone, damn I used to find it so frustrating but I've turned a corner now and I'm pretty good.
Thanks Mark. I bloody hate the stuff lol. Thanks for watching 😁
Definitely one of the best build series. Won't pester you by posting every vid but have watched and liked them all. Great job. Also one of the very few van builders to bring up the issue of weight. Most forge ahead assuming that 3.5 tonne is massive weight. I can see some builds and think to myself....... definitely overweight. Great great work.
Wow thanks Jeff! 👍 Weight is well worth considering, especially when your going Dow the route of using a lot of wood. Thanks a lot and thanks for watching 👍
Tiles look great, good job by Emily 👍
I'll be watching your other videos with renewed interest now as I wanted to do this in my van but bottled out at the last minute with visions of them crashing off the wall when I hit my first big pothole.
Guess I'll just need to be a bit braver this time 🤣🤣
Thanks mack, she done an amazing job. I was worried too but they've held up really well, even with our awful suspension! I think the key is to use flexible grout and adhesive.
Great video, very informative. Window looks great.
Going to use this to help frame my new windows that I just installed. Thank you!
Thanks Chris, glad it could be of some use 😀
Cafe do Brazil 🇧🇷 ❤️ . Love that it's inthe cabnet xx
Another very practical and informative video! Looks great too...
Thanks Richard, seems like a lifetime ago now
Looks great 😍
Thank you 😁👍
Nice job 👍🏻
Thank you 😁
Great job! Loved it.
Thank you 😁👍
Another great video! 👍👍
Thank you 😁👍
Girls that looks amazbobs I'm learning so much and guess what? The van purchase is imminent 😂 it's part done but lots for me to do and we'll quirky. Fabulous I'm so glad I found your channel. I'm looking for that tap but cannot find it any ideas Louise? Thanks again xx
Oh that's so exciting, we'd love to see it once you have it! Here's a link for the tap www.amazon.co.uk/Kitchen-Single-Contemporary-Commercial-Leekayer/dp/B07RLN3TS7
That window framing is great , it's things like that what helps us the most , just to see where to start really , it's not that obvious once it's all clad over . The tiles just set that kitchen off nicely , good job ,👍👍
Thanks Chris. It was one of our most asked questions on our last build so thought we best film it this time, glad it's helped. Thank you for watching 😁👍
Nice job on the window framing, helper. at least the real worker was there to supervise whilst doing a grand job of tiling. I can imagine the response if Emily turned up on a building site with her cute bucket! lmfao.
🤣🤣🤣 Thank you. I wouldn't let her out with that bucket lol! Thanks for watching 😁👍
Couldn't bare watching your video. :-) I''m another Paul but this Paul is bloody useless with his hands and I wish you were here to help with my window frame / recess frame area of my van. LOL!!!!
🤣🤣 Hi Paul! I'm sure you will do just fine, it's easy after you've done it lol!! Hope your conversion is going well. 😁
Thank you very much girls 👍 Absolutely fantastic job Emily, I love that colour hair 😂. A bucket and a spoon fair enough, but I can’t believe you let her loose with a Stanley knife, Louise.
No really; top job on the tiles Emily. Van is looking the Dog’s. Thanks for the video xx
I know I know, Stanley knife was a bad move. Won't happen again tho, now she's done a bit I don't think I'll see her in the van again till its finished!
Funny bucket haha good vid girls .Not much to do now ..where to on first trip
Well who knows now lol! Could have to wait a while before we can go anywhere! I want to get up to Scotland and do the nc500 but that may have to wait a bit. Hopefully get down to the new forest soon, even if it's only a weekend before we're all on lock down lol!
@@campervibe yeah I've done my panic buying 2 big box tea bags 1 big jar coffee and a packet of biscuits ....sorted oh and beer
@@garyodriscoll3009 🤣🤣🤣 very similar to our list lol, can't do black coffee tho so a shit load of long life milk for us too... Priorities lol!
Nice job Emily👍 my son pays his tilers £170 a day😂. I'll give him your number😂😂.....Jim👍
Hi Jim, Louise here, she'll do it lol! 🤣👍
Loise you will never hear the end of it about those tiles from emily 🤣
Hahaha, you know her so well!! I really will never hear the end of it lol!
You 2 are cool and your build is BRILLIANT! Great job and thanks for the videos
Hi Paul, thank you and thanks for watching 😁😁
@@campervibe Youre welcome :) . Btw what did you use for bonding your tile to the wood before grouting? Thanks
@@laughwhilstraping we just used a flexible tile adhesive.
@@campervibe Thank you :)
What is the thickness of the frame please?
Hi lou / Emily, know this is almost 3 years old - question on the Seitz window style versus the typical bonded sliding window. would you select the bonded now that you have had these windows and lived with them for good and ill for 3 years? or still prefer this style ?
Hi there. Can you tell me where you got that side window from and what it is called please? Looking great as usual... And so is the van 😎
Hello 😁 I can't remember exactly where it was from but all the main caravan parts dealers do them. Its called a seitz s4 window, you can get them hinged like ours or as sliders. They come in whatever size you like really. Hope that helps.
Ladys, where did you purchase that window? Its perfect size for my build
Sorry we just googled windows and didn’t note it down was all very new to us documenting it back then 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
Emily looks like she's tiled before! Can I ask did you apply the tile adhesive onto just plain wood or something else like plasterboard or something? I ask as I'm coming up to doing my tiles soon. thanks.
Honestly she has never done it before. In my opinion you should seal the wood with something, but not pva or any kind of paint with a gloss or shiny finish, I'm not 100% tho, we just used a primer and undercoat on ours and so far they have stayed up. I'm only used to tiling onto plaster to be honest.
Hi guys - that window you're framing is exactly what we're after - do you have a link for the window itself?
Hi there, sorry I don't have the link anymore but it's a seitz s4 window if that helps.
❤ :)
😁👍
I've watched it twice... I don't think I can do it.
You can
My adventure with woodworking started with Stodoys plans.
Woodwork is so much fun right 😁😁
@@campervibe Yes ✌️👍
Guess what? I am still going back, I am like the worst Ex... At least I am nice.
🤣🤣 this is true
