Aviation is indeed a small world! :) I knew Jeff back in England when I did a little Citation flying with him in 2006! Give him my best wishes. Sohrab C.
Super video!! Thanks for introducing us to Jeff, an letting him tell us his aviation background story!! Beautiful aircraft!! Thanks for letting us ride along!!
I loved flying the Challenger 300 because it is a real rocket ship for a civilian airplane. We once departed out of Rome, Italy in winter with no pax and just a bit of fuel to make it to Cannes, France. We climbed to FL200 in 4.5 minutes ... says it all :-) Still prefer the Challenger 605, it is a lot more comfortable, more systems redundancy and just a better day to day office.
Hey Jim, I hope you enjoy the Challenger 300. As a former Flexjet dispatcher I really enjoyed planning the flights. It is by far one of my favorite airplanes that Bombardier has made
Nice one Jeff. Your trial flight in Jersey. I learned to fly there and can think of no better place to do so. You are mixing it with very busy commercial traffic in controlled airspace from day one. Yo have to cross water to get to any other airfields and you have to cross an international FIR to get to France to do all the nav/cross=country exercises. The weather is the best in the British isles. Superb. My home.
The only other odd thing to me was the fact that you have a high tech aircraft like this but there’s no automatic system to make sure the fuel balances itself out between the tanks. I definitely get the manual mode in case something goes wrong with one of the pumps.
Not a bad way to spend a day! Appreciate you taking us along on this one. Man, that Challenger is NICE!! Great to meet Jeff - what a great story of his aviation start. Thanks for sharing, Jim! 👍🍻
Thanks so much for taking the time to share with us your videos!!!!!!! We always look forward to watching. You are great at so many things including your videos. You are a super star, you make flying look easy, and we both know that it's not, a true sign of a professional. Thanks again, Anne
Great video, Jeff has a way with the camera and the way he explained the 300 System. Hay Captmoonbean did you ever fly Jeff Fisher's Citation when it was at St Louis. Keep up the good work on your videos.
Great video and a bit different. Jeff did a great job explaining and seems like a great guy. He clearly has a love for what he does. There wasn’t even a noticeable bump on that landing, great job !
I never thought Nassau was all that nice. I considered it to be a tropical New Jersey! Very nice video...... Love the NO ties. Always considered it to be worth about 5K in compensation I was willing to make the sacrifice for.
I was in Charlotte last weekend. I was surprised how inefficient the airport was. We had to wait a LONG time to taxi across the runway after we landed.
Great meeting you today Jeff, and what a superb landing in Nassau I might add. I've been a fan of @captmoonbeam for a couple of years now and I enjoyed the nice change of scenery in the Challenger 300. Thanks for the great content and footage Jim! 🛩👍🏼🇺🇸
Awesome video interesting to hear Jeff story and get the tour of the aircraft and some systems. Nobody on board could complain about the landing either. Thanks for taking us along
@@captmoonbeam Thank you..I have bee taking notice of that through so many other corporate jet videos and asking current pilots and flight attendants about and the choice of that sofa on many corporate jets. For me, it looks better, more personable. With great style...
Wow - that's a bit different Jim - and way bigger (huge) - beautiful plane, and impressive ceiling too. Cockpit's as big as a lounge! Great to 'meet' Jeff... he sure has an impressive number of ratings. Congrats on the citizenship. I too am ex pat Brit but citizen since 2005. Jeff greased the landing. This was a great video again but especially so because of the Bombardier!
Cool video Jim! Jeff seems great to fly with! I have a CL-65 Type, flew CRJ700s for PSA Airlines. I was based in Charlotte! Great city! I noticed that the oxy masks were behind the seat. CRJ they are like many larger jets left and right of pilots, easy to grab! I love Challengers! So much room in cockpit for pilots and it’s like flying a fighter.....almost! 😎😎😎😎
Another great video. I flew a 600 series way back when. Seems like a million years ago. If ever you find yourself in CLT let me know and I’ll buy you a cup of coffee, or maybe something better.
Wish I could fly it. Executive aviation in Brazil is tough... although I'm a flight instructor with 1600+ hours, I do not think I'll ever have the chance to fly it. :(
Captain Moonbeam is going to the DarkSide with the Challenger. Psst. Don't tell Cessna or they won't do your recurrent training at Flight Safety. I've had the pleasure of flying and flying in a G604 Challenger. The first aircraft I flew with a glass cockpit. After that experience, I never wanted to see another steam gauge again. With the increase in size, also comes the doubling in fuel loading and the wear and tear on the aircraft. Strange type ratings between the various Challenger models.
I used to work for Midcoast @ KCPS. Did stress analysis and W&B reports for the 604 interior completions. Also did W&B reports for Gulfstreams, Falcons, Hawkers when needed after mods. Great to meet Jeff & awesome video as usual!
Thanks for taking us with you Jim. Jeff seems like a great guy love his accent. The challenger is beautiful but I can understand them taking the advantage of a long term lease they are not cheap to maintain and it needs to be bringing in revenue to pay for itself. Sorry to here your wife isn't driving anymore hope she is continuing to do well. Have a great day. God Bless!!!
Great video . I flew a 600 series like a million years ago. This one looks like a sweet ride. Hey, you have to let me know when your coming through or stopping at CLT. That’s where I live now. I’d love to buy you a cup of coffee, or dinner for that matter.
How does that work in the US. You fly a Part-25 commercial jet that requires 2 pilots by the manual and you can still fly passengers without a type rated F/O ? A non type-rated guy in a complex jet is pretty much useless except for working the radio and reading the checklist. Do you have to prove some kind of systems knowledge or any knowledge about the airplane that you are sitting in? Is this only allowed in Part 91 operations or also in 121 and 135?
In the US a SIC type is only required for international flights. For part 91 SIC only a 61.55 is required which requires ground and flight training for the aircraft.
captmoonbeam thanks for the explanation. So basically you have to have training, but not a full type rating ... like half a rating? How is that working safety wise? It is very interesting to see US operations.
captmoonbeam I love the challenger series 300-600 and just that platform in general and I enjoyed your video with you flying it. I look forward to your left seat videos in the future. You both worked well together and the personalities meshed well.
Did the two of you have to do any type of simulation training together for this type aircraft. I was thinking of ins requirements? Or since both of you were already rated in this type, that met all requirements and you were good to go. Thanks for sharing.
Capt.Moonbeam did you hear about the lady at Key West airport that lost her arm when herself and the pilot climbed out of the plane with the engines running to check for a mechanical problem? Do pilots usually leave the engines running to trouble shoot a problem?
If you didn’t have a second in command type rating, could you still fly right seat in the Challenger since you’re multi engine rated if just basic part 91 flying?
Aviation is indeed a small world! :) I knew Jeff back in England when I did a little Citation flying with him in 2006! Give him my best wishes. Sohrab C.
SOHRAB! Great to hear from you my friend! Such a small world hope you're doing well!!
I already have, Thanks.
Jeff seems to be very proficient and detail oriented. Adjusting fuel balance to compensate for APU burn!
Very nice of Jeff to show us some of the avionics and systems operations. Would love more of this on your different aircraft!
Super video!! Thanks for introducing us to Jeff, an letting him tell us his aviation background story!! Beautiful aircraft!! Thanks for letting us ride along!!

Jeff's start experience is just like mine....First flight was from Jersey to Shoreham age 12.....
you guys may have crossed paths somewhere.
Two great pilots, thanks for the informative and interesting flight
Thanks Stan.
Love to see the new aircraft and great to meet a new pilot who loves flying too. Hopefully they keep it and you get typed for it. 👍
I would like to see that too!
Hello Jeff, very nice to meet you. Jim, that is one gorgeous bird. You guys are truly blessed!
Thanks! Nice to meet you too Mike!
Thanks Mike.
“with you”.....? So glad your radio procedure isn’t always perfect...makes me feel better as I struggle with mine!

Great video. I loved the Captain explaining the fuel transfer system. That was a very interesting back story for Jeff becoming a pilot.
thanks Teddy.
That is a beautiful plane --- I would love to have one of those under the Christmas tree!!!

Incredible ~ I have my favorites for each class size of B.J.'s. The 300/350 are my #1 picks for the midsize models. Awesome Video! 👍👍

Thanks. I love the roominess in he front office.
Beautiful airplane. Bigger than I thought.
Lovely aircraft! She's a Beast!!! The Capt is a friendly guy!
Great guy to fly with.
I like those big screens, very beautiful cockpit
it is very nice.
I learned how to fly at the now closed st.charles airport cut class to go flying back in 1976 .lived in st.peters mo.
I flew out of St Charles from 1996 to 1998.
Oh wow great to hear,I enjoy your videos
Great plane, great film. Thank you so much.
thanks Donald.
Nice Challenger, hopefully the owner will decide to keep it around!
That is a great looking panel.
Lovely to meet you Jeff!
Neat plane Captain - but there's something neat about that baby Cessna.

Kind of a bummer you gotta fly back coach...
Yes it is.
So smooth! Nice video!
I fly a 700 for work. Have to say I very much approve of this haha. It’s a beautiful plane. Love the videos!

Great video Jim. Love that Challenger!
Thanks John.
Wow! Larger plane. I thought it was going away.
It may still go on a lease.
Beautiful bird Captain

This was after Dorian.

However I am not fully convinced you share my opinion about this🤫
But well done💪
Hi Steen. The more experience I have with it the more I like it.
Love checking out your videos !
that was a buttery landing!
Smooth as silk👍
Love this!!!!! Great vlog, great plane, great Jeff!

Where have you been??___ 👋😉
467 GPH in 46minutes 358 gallons
Ignoring the APU, that's about 1 cup of fuel per engine every second.
Could you be the pilot flying next time!
