I love this “emergency” fried rice , it reminds me of the way my father cooks. He is 100 years old and nothing in his kitchen goes to waste. He makes a “concoction” fried rice much like this but he always finds room for diced potatoes and a few Indian spices too. Thank you for your wonderful easy recipes! They are delicious and feed the soul!

Did it with that i found in the fridge: ham, bellpepper, onions and mushroom. It turned out to be really nice! Thank you so much! Perfect for a 22 pm snack 😊
Hands down the best fried rice recipe I've ever had! The water to rice ratio is PERFECT! To be honest you taught me how to make the perfect rice! Much appreciated!

I bought your wok because I wanted to learn more about cooking authentic Asian food, then I found your recipes. I LOVE the wok, and your recipes are phenomenal. Your video about how to season and use my new wok was extremely helpful. I made this fried rice dish tonight and my family actually said that it was better than takeout! I can't tell you how much you've helped me, and will continue to help me, on my journey to learn how to cook Asian food. Thank you so much!
Yes, Very detailed and I love how you showed all the ingredients and taking your time explaining. Others are rushing in explaining. I can't wait to make this week
You are the best thing to come from my virus viewing. Normally, I wouldn't have had so much time to wander around UA-cam. I love that fried rice is so forgiving. I ordered some seasonings from Amazon, since I have no Asian market available here and have been making your recipes ever since. I am never disappointed. They are always delicious! Keep the videos coming. Getting into the kitchen to cook is very stress relieving to me and I know I am headed to a good result.
Made this recipe today but without the bacon. I also added some MSG, white pepper, and a drizzle of sesame oil. Was by far my favorite fried rice I’ve made so far! 😋
By far this is the best fried rice I’ve ever had. I will keep this recipe. And was amazed on how great it was. I didn’t have carrots but I had everything else and used sandwich meat sliced it in squares. And it was amazing! Thank you! 💜
I first tried fried rice after arriving in Thailand decades ago while in the Air Force and one guy at the hotel I was staying at talked me into trying some of what he had. After trying a tablespoon of his I was hooked and ordered a bowl of it myself and have been eating it since then. Upon returning home years later I purchased a wok and began cooking it myself and loved it. The plate of fried rice you cooked look great and I have to try cooking it with bacon and see how it tastes.
This is a great tutorial, thank you. Made it with pork, broccoli, corn, and peas. Cooked in sesame seed oil, seasoned with soy sauce, cajun powder, garlic powder, onion powder, and of course salt. Mine turned out awesome, thanks for making this easy to follow video!
I just made this tonight and it was the best homemade fried rice I have ever made! Your tips to make same day rice were perfect! Instead of using bacon I had some left over pork tenderloin that I cubed up and added, and it was perfect!! It was way better than my local Chinese take out, and took less than 10 minutes to make after I gathered all the ingredients. Thanks so much!
When you smiled and said 'Hi' it brought a big smile to my face. Just discovered your channel--so excited to learn more from you! Thanks for no music & the easy way you explain things
You do such a great job not only preparing the dishes but also explaining the how to make it. Also, I love hearing the history/background of your dishes
This was the best fried rice I've made. the proportions are just right. I used only 2 tbsp soy sauce and it was perfect. The tip on high wok heat when the rice goes in made all the difference. Usually my rice is mushy with the soy sauce. This was, like you said, toasty and fluffy. Thanks!
You have opened my eyes to a completely different way of cooking. I fixed this Egg Fried Rice of yours and I didn't have the mixed vegetables. I used what I had on hand ( onion, carrot and cabbage) and it is really good. Thank you for your excellent videos! 😁👍
I've made this twice, once with shrimp, once with chicken. It was absolutely delicious. Your ratios are perfect, and I used your techniques in my high carbon Wok. Better than restaurant quality. Thank you!
I don’t have a wok so I used a large deep frying pan. I used toasted sesame oil. I don’t eat meat so I tripled the eggs. Also added butter for the Benihana effect. Didn’t have a bottle of soy sauce but used about 7 packs of to go soy sauce packets. I didn’t know I was out of soy sauce when I bought the oyster sauce. First time using oyster sauce. I have a large family so I doubled the recipe. Food was absolutely delicious 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 Thank you so much! I plan to buy the wok tagged in this video.
Thank you for this video! My husband and daughter and I love this!! My daughter is a picky eater, and had never tried fried rice before. I used this recipe and she loves it, and asks for it all the time now!
I love how you explain everything step by step and your humor fascinates me 🙃 I i love how the rice turned out and my family left the pan with nothing! keep sharing your videos and more recipes! God bless you! from Florida!
Despite being once again reminded why people love woks so much and making a bit of a mess because of it, I am super happy with how this recipe turned out. Thank you so much for this video!
Thaniks so much! Used up left over rice that had been steamed with slilces of Cantonese sausage. Cooked up some bacon, Shitake mushroom, Napa Cabbage, green onions and eggs. So quick. So easy. So delicious. No stick with your carbon steel wok!
Your chow mein recipe is second to none so I can't wait to try this one! I like how Chinese cooking so often uses the Oyster sauce, soy and light soy formula.
You're amazing, I had no idea that I've been cook rice the wrong way my entire life, smh. The fried rice I just cooked based on your instructions is the best I've ever made. All love for you
Thank you sooo much. I love how simple your cooking technique is and your bright, sunny presetation too. 😀💕👍👍👍 We could really do with more during these trying times. . .
Just made this dish tonight after watching your video several times for a week and bringing it up that I want to try. I don't know how to cook much, honestly, my husband is huge on food. He said it was the best rice dish he's ever had. I'm so happy!!! :) Thank you for your video!
I just watched this video and it was lunch time. So, I had some left over rice in the fridge, some Spam, two eggs, frozen veggie mix, chopped onions and oyster & soy sauces. So, I said, "What the heck?!" I used a 12" stainless steal pan (ordering your Carbon Steel Wok now for future) and it turned out delicious. Making sure the Stainless Steel pan was super hot make it virtually non-stick. I DID substitute Spam for bacon ('cause that's what I had) and added chopped onion and minced garlic after the veggies for about 5-10 seconds before adding the rice. But using this technique, it turned out amazing. Better than our local Chinese take-out and only took about 7 minutes to make. I definitely recommend getting the oyster and soy sauces Mandy recommends, it makes a world of difference.
I’ve tried many recipes on UA-cam but so far this is my fav. Simple yet so tasty, didn’t know oyster sauce in fried rice would add such flavor 😋. Thank you 🙏🏻
Thanks for your great recipes! You’re so good at explaining how to make and tips! I hope you’re well and staying in during this pandemic! Please post many more recipes so it gives us more to do and enjoy great flavors! Have a beautiful day!!! 😘
This was fantastic! I used a non stick skillet and julienned some ham instead of bacon and everyone wanted seconds. I was sad that I hadn't doubled the recipe. So easy and fast and it worked even in a skillet. I used day old rice that I made the previous day on purpose for this dish. I had requests to add some diced onion with the other veggies, so I am going to add that next time. 5 star just as it is though, Mandy. Thank you so much for sharing!
A cheat you can use rather than day old rice is the 90 second microwaveable rice. Simply remove from pack, separate and cook. Saves having to cook any rice or use leftovers.
I watch you all the time on my Facebook feed. Love your way of cooking. I trust your recipes. I cook a lot. I must say your mastery of English has come a very long way in two years! I know that was hard work for you. Good job! And thank you for continuing to show us how to cook Chinese and other Asian dishes
A few weeks ago in tried your sesame chicken instructions and it turned out great and I just wanted to say thank you for making these videos I will be doing this next!! P.S. My family absolutely loved the sesame chicken!!
Finally I can make fried rice. I always ended up with gloopy rice that stuck to the pan until I watched this video yesterday. Today I made a much better fried rice that looks and tastes the way it should, all thanks to you! ❤
I cooked your recipe and it tasted great, thank you. I found by boiling the rice, then rinsing it with hot water afterwards that it was nice and fluffy anyway. I used basmati rice. Also bacon was the meat of choice for my mothers fried rice in Australia in the 70s, so it seems quite the right meat to us for me anyway :)
You, are the reason I prepare fried rice at home. I add food items like, asparagus tips, corn, shredded chicken or shrimp. My next pursuit will be Angus Steak Um for Steak Fried Rice. Thank you for my creativity. Oh, my husband loves my homemade Fried Rice, instead of take out. Winner, winner, my Fried Rice Dinner!
Thank you so much for making this video. I am in a season of cooking on my own for the first time ever and decided to test my limits with this. I followed your instructions and it tastes AMAZING! This is the best thing I’ve made for myself yet. Can’t wait to share the recipe with others. Take care!
Great recipe!! Thank you, Mandy! I didn't see any printed recipe instructions in the description so I took the liberty for anyone who would like to copy them: Wash the rice in a bowl until the water is clear. Bring the rice and water to a boil in a covered pot and then cook on low for 10 minutes. Cook your protein in a wok with the oil on medium heat. Move the protein to the side and scramble the egg in the remaining oil. Add the vegetables and stir everything until veggies are soft. Turn the heat to high and add the rice. Stir until the rice is hot and then add seasonings - salt and pepper for simplicity, or the above seasonings for authenticity.
4 years later, lol. I just made this recipe and it was really good! I used scrambled egg, Argentine red shrimp ,and crumbled bacon usually for salads. I didn’t have much in the way of veggies, so it was just frozen peas and red onion. I also added a 1/8 teaspoon of a hot pepper oil that i made from another video of Mandy’s. I think are lots of things i could do differently in terms of veggies, and i didn’t do a good job at measuring anything. AND, i didn’t use the right kind of Wok. I bought a Souped Up Wok, but haven’t opened it yet, so my rice was a little mushy and not quite “fried”, but next time I’ll use the right tools.
I always come to this channel first for recipes, everything I have made is wonderful. Last time I got take out from my local place the vegetables had not been washed and there was grit in the dishes. Have not been back since and make it myself.
I love your recipes and tried many of them. They are always perfect in seasonings and flavor. I have a request when you get a chance for Chinese curry chicken. I don't think that you made that one before. Stay safe and thank you for these very delicious recipes. I appreciate all that you do.
Made this as described. Came out great! And now that I have the oyster sauce and dark soy sauce, I can make this over and over whenever i want! Thanks for such a simple recipe!🧡
This looks great I'm about to make it, I like that you are open to non traditional dishes/ingredients without disturbing the proper process. Obviously fried rice comes best when cooked out of a wok but some folks would go nuts if you add bacon because it's not traditional. Who cares as long as it tastes good? Thanks for uploading.
That is just epic! Every time I've tried to make this, I've ended up with a tasteless lump glued to my frying pan. Your tips on how to keep it from sticking (and make it taste like it's straight out of my local restaurant kitchen!) made this hands-down the best fried rice I've made. Thank you!!! PS I just had some duck fat and leftover parboiled brown rice, which worked perfect.
ypu having two different mic levels startled me thanks i needed waking up during breakfast time. and always appreciate how friendly you are in the beginning of every video.
I haven't had Chinese food in weeks because of this outbreak. My friend gave me her Wok today because she will never use it. Well, I guarantee it is getting used now!
Hope your getting on ok with your new wok. The wok in our kitchen is used for everything even for the odd friend egg, I don't see any reason to use any other pan after adapting everything to be cooked wok style!

@@tron3entertainment I do like a bit of sausage rice! Normally sneak some chorizo in there and use the oils from it to cook everything else. I do need to up my wok game however, I usually just make up my own recipes which with my limited culinary knowledge can be lacking in depth of flavour. Think I will adding oyster sauce to my quiver.
Great video - shows how to make the dish simply and easily, and looks so yummy! I already have pork chops out for dinner tonight, so I can make the rice tonite, and by tomorrow night, it'll be 'left-over'! Thanks! It's actually kind of funny hearing you talk about the panic buying at the start of the pandemic - I noticed that one of the first things that got completely bought out was rice. Instant, regular, suddenly everybody loved rice and pasta and bought it all up!
Love this woman's voice so much. And if she doesn't make it as a creator, she can transition into being the world's best Cantonese Mettalica translator. All jokes aside great video and recipe. Thank you
Looks great. Also I wish I spoke YOUR native language as perfectly as you've mastered mine. Kudos. I'll be making this today. Will be adding some kale and onions from our garden. Also Bragg's Amino Acids for a extra nutritional kick. Thanks for this video!

I actually made a dish called plov the night before, it's an Uzbekistani pilaf. Traditionally made with lamb but I made it with chicken. Anyhow, since I had the day old rice, fresh carrots and string beans, I used those. I also separated the whites and the greens of a scallion and added the whites with egg and I added minced garlic after the veggies were almost cooked. I didn't have dark soy so I used some Worcestershire sauce. Added the deboned chicken. 10/10 have never had fried rice that good thank you so much!!!
Thanks Mandy! You’re wonderful. This is my first dish (an easy one...) using your Wok. It tasted exceptional, OMG! Everyone loved it. I’ve already increased my pledge on Patreon as I appreciate all your recipes and hard work. Best wishes, and be safe.
I did all in one pan, but didn't use dark soy sauce only oyster sauce and light soy sauce. It was Yummy. I rarely do Chinese rice take our anymore! Thank you!😘👍🏼🤲🏽
I can wait to try this! I love the simplistic way you explain how you do it, and also explain why you do it that way. My fried rice has always tasted ok, but looked like a dollop of multicoloured blancmange when served. I now know why. I wasn't doing ANYTHING right :D
I will make this for my beautiful wife, and she will fall in love with me all over again. Once I’ve got that love in my pocket I will seduce her to doing the dishes. This is my plan. I’ve always used long grain white. Tried this tonite. The jasmine rice just kicked it up a couple notches! Nice! My family loved it!
You, are the reason
I prepare fried rice at home.
I add food items like, asparagus tips, corn, shredded chicken or shrimp.
My next pursuit will be Angus Steak Um for Steak Fried Rice.
Thank you for my creativity.
Oh, my husband loves my homemade Fried Rice, instead of
take out.
Take care!
I made this and the chicken and Broccoli. I got the dark soy on Amazon. My family loved it no leftovers!!! Recommend them both!! Great Recipe!!!
Great recipe!! Thank you, Mandy! I didn't see any printed recipe instructions in the description so I took the liberty for anyone who would like to copy them:
Wash the rice in a bowl until the water is clear.
I just recently bought some Jasmine rice, and it is wonderful, plus it smells great as it cooks. Kind of smells like popcorn.
I’m making this now. My mom used to make it with leftover rice but I couldn’t remember what she put in it. Thanks!!
I cooked this tonight for dinner, minus the Oyster sauce. WOW! Way better then anything in my area. Can't wait to try this with some Chicken. Thanks
ypu having two different mic levels startled me thanks i needed waking up during breakfast time. and always appreciate how friendly you are in the beginning of every video.
@@ManMang0 - I use it mostly for seafood or rice dishes. Here is one of the family favs I bothered to record. Short clip. ua-cam.com/video/moGRPyoQNAg/v-deo.html
Literally my favorite video for fried rice, my family eats it all every time!! Thank you
Thank you for the recipe! You are so precious! Hope you are staying safe and healthy. Be Blessed 🙏🏻 (I will try this tomorrow). Thanks again 🙏🏻
I do this at least a couple of times a month. Who doesn’t like bacon, eggs and vegetables with rice? Very tasty
This js the best fried rice ever ! Less oily , healthy , simple and delicious. I make this quite often as my family loves this . Thank you
I look forward to making this. My family is missing eating at a Chinese Restaurant and this will be amazing for us
Great video - shows how to make the dish simply and easily, and looks so yummy!
Best fried rice recipe I've tried. 10/10 would make this again. I also tried your egg drop soup recipe and it really works:) Tysm!
I think I was Chinese in my past life I love the food I could live on rice so happy you showed us this defo ve trying it out thankyou xxx
I have tried your recipe, the entire family loved it and I've made it many times since first time! Beautiful easy recipe. Thank you
I made this tonight with chicken and added some pineapple
Was so yummy I will make again for sure
Thank you for the great ideas
Love this woman's voice so much. And if she doesn't make it as a creator, she can transition into being the world's best Cantonese Mettalica translator. All jokes aside great video and recipe. Thank you
Looks great. Also I wish I spoke YOUR native language as perfectly as you've mastered mine. Kudos. I'll be making this today. Will be adding some kale and onions from our garden. Also Bragg's Amino Acids for a extra nutritional kick. Thanks for this video!
I just tried this recipe for the first time and I would like to thank you, was some of the best fried rice I’ve ever had
Thanks!
This looks really good reminds me of my mom's cooking.
The first thing I’m going to do after lockdown is go to my local Chinese takeaways for some fried rice.
They deliver
Well guys, you’re missing the point here...guess...what really??? Making it yourself??? Yeah, that’s right...cook it yourself for more delicious fresh flavour and consistency... she is teaching us to cook 😇 better and cheaper than greasy Chinese take out

I'm going to Chinatown and eat until I pass out ! Ours are closed
Thank you for posting this -- it looks delicious. I can't wait to try it. Wishing you Good Health , thanks again.
Very nice! Made this for lunch with bacon. You are the cutest and best teacher for Chinese food. Watch you long time.
Looks delish! Our stores are starting to stock frozen veggies again. Be well!
I love that little breathless sound at the end of her sentences....
Same here. Not making fun, but reminded me of listening to a southern church sermon! Love her recipes.
I did all in one pan, but didn't use dark soy sauce only oyster sauce and light soy sauce. It was Yummy. I rarely do Chinese rice take our anymore! Thank you!😘👍🏼🤲🏽
I'm making this now! My husband has been begging for fried rice. I'm sure we'll love it. Thank you!
I can wait to try this! I love the simplistic way you explain how you do it, and also explain why you do it that way. My fried rice has always tasted ok, but looked like a dollop of multicoloured blancmange when served. I now know why. I wasn't doing ANYTHING right :D
Just made this and it was so easy and delicious! Thank you so much, Mandy.
I will make this for my beautiful wife, and she will fall in love with me all over again. Once I’ve got that love in my pocket I will seduce her to doing the dishes. This is my plan. However, many of my plans in the past have gone sideways we’ll just have to see how this goes. Thanks it was fun to watch
Your boyfriend will also enjoy this tasty meal!
Gotta ask, how’d you do on the whole doing the dishes seduction? 😂
Runi Jones “hey baby girl. You look hot, but I bet you’d look hotter scrubbing that baking sheet”
@@ghettonoodlez7457💀💀💀
I’m just going to assume that you ended up doing the dishes…
