You can actually instead of rubber bands try to part your hair and do braids instead it will grip the base and it works in short hair
This looks really neat and I'm a huge fan. Being natural myself those little pieces of fro being left out gone be full blown bad within 2 weeks! Maybe plat firsts, crochet through the roots then do the twists keeping the clients plats inside he twist

@sady kitty thanks I'm not new to braiding I've been doing it for almost 20yrs. But Natural hair does not last in passion twist at all if you have curly hair 🤷🏿♀️ I've been natural 8yrs and most of my clients are natural as well

I was wondering how you keep the rubber bands from breaking? I have put oil on them before but they still break after about 2 days. Do you maby have any tips ? 😘
I've used the rubber band method when braiding and they have always stayed. You may want to check what type of bands you're using.
ZC get a different brand of rubber bands. Get the ones in the clear container. They are stronger.
ZC There’s a difference between rubber and elastic bands. Those elastic bands don’t hold and sometimes even breaks the first day. Where I am I can only purchase real rubber bands at my beauty supply store, dollar stores and Walmart only carries the elastic bands 😭 don’t know why they don’t just stick with the tried and true instead of producing these subpar products ugh.
I live in the netherlands and here it is very hard to find stuff to do afro hair. So i just try what i can find and do the best i can. Most times the rubber bands are in clear bags and there is no information on them. So this was very helpfull for me. Thank you 🤗
Dont put any kind of oil on the rubber bands it softens the elasticity and they break faster. Also dont wound them too tight. Depending on the hair no more than 4 revolutions should be fine to secure it.
