I used it again yesterday. Takes about ten minutes to get the whole job done and costs a few cents in electricity which is way faster and cheaper than driving to the barber shop, waiting for my appointment to begin late, getting the haircut, paying for the service plus tip and then driving home. Everything has gone crazy with prices, so I might be saving $500 and 30 hours per year. The initial cash outlay is low, it isn't much risk to give it a try.
I'm so glad that I could help. Please share this video with your friends so they know how easy this process is. I've been doing this for 20 years and can usually complete the entire process in five minutes which saves me around 25-50 hours per year over driving to a barber, waiting, getting the cut and then driving back home. This small investment is going to save you a fortune and lots of time.
I have been using my Flowbee for a good 3 decades -- I think they made a mistake with the early models to make them bullet proof -- mine has never been serviced and has never failed in all those years !
People worry unnecessarily about wear on the components; seems like the silly things last forever. It's a really good investment and I'm blown away that an American-made product like this can sell for $99. Well, scratch that; I just checked the website and they're $99 now. Seems like they were $99 when I made this video or ~120 on Amazon. The pandemic has been great for their business to be sure. Just googled "flowbee alternative" and wow, there are a lot of alternatives. I wasn't watching this before, but the market for home haircut solutions has really exploded.
Wowza! What a wacky gizmo. Wish I could I could take that bad boy for a spin. Gonna absolutely SMASH that like button. Amazing dexterity while tackling the cumbersome task of operating the flow bee. Dab on the haters.
Danke! Ich habe vier Jahre ohne Flowbee in Europa gelebt. Oft habe ich einen Geschäftsmann-Haarschnitt gekauft. "Halb Zentimeter links, rechts und hinten, bitte." Flowbee ist schneller und billiger.
I sooo wanted to jump into the clip and help you out! I'm not a hairdresser, but do a cut on my Dad that is like this! Also want to shave your neck hehe!
After we were done, I explained that the flat part of the shaver goes against the skin for clearing large swaths; the way she was doing it is only for defining nice, sharp lines. The hairs build up creating a dam that has to be cleared away every few seconds and she knows that now.
Heck, it never occurred to me to try it, but I suspect that the ribs on the foot facilitate the flow of air, and with it hair, into the spacer and then through the reciprocating blades. I invite you to try it, but I suspect it will not be very useful without the foot. A non-negligible safety problem may present when using the Flowbee without a foot or spacer. These parts prevent folds of skin and ears from slipping inside the Flowbee and being cut by the reciprocating blades, so please do not try to use the device sans foot or spacer.
The great news is that hair grows back after a couple weeks and, while we're in lock down, few people will see your haircut. Throw on a cap during those forays for supplies and nobody will know.
The air passing through the hair (especially in the low pressure state produced by the vacuum) quickly dries the hair. The thin film of oil and the constant drying retards any corrosion and the manner in which they slide against each other sharpens them, but I expect to buy new blades sometime around 2030.
The low-pressure system created by the vacuum and the rapid airflow dries the hair as it goes. Wet hair may make the haircut more cumbersome and reduce the life of the blades, but not by much in my experience. My hair was sweaty and dirty after mowing the lawn and was about three months longer than usual; I was putting in a lot of hours for my client. When done frequently, the whole process can be completed in ten minutes.
Any moisture on the blades remains only for a second. The low-pressure system that exists around the blades (caused by the vacuum cleaner) means that the molecules of water require less energy to evaporate and the strong winds (caused also by the vacuum cleaner) further speed up the evaporation. The thin film of ever-present oil does a lot to protect the blades from atmospheric oxygen. I've been using the Flowbee for 25 years and never changed blades. They're cheap, so I don't spend much time worrying about rusty blades.
I was wondering about that if this could do the mushroom afro so many people do now. Maybe less vacuum , but still long blades...but a bit of vacuum to clean things ..but not enough to pull the hair all out...
I live in Florida and have fantasized about having a mullet for decades, but have to be presentable for my consulting gig. But now, with the pandemic and the whole work-from-home thing . . .
Thanks for the demo. Just dug our flowbee out of storage. Going to use what I learned from you and will be cutting my husband's hair.
This is possibly the best Flowbee instruction provided on UA-cam. Good detail with results to show for it.
Wow! Thanks! I remember that there weren't many before the pandemic and now there are a whole lot more of them since I made this one.
You are very entertaining. I watched the entire video even though I will probably never use the Flowbee. Good job !!!

Fantastic video!! Thanks for making and sharing.
You're a sweetheart! Love to watch people get a haircut, don't know why just do!
Enjoyed your instructions, my flobee came yesterday !
I'm glad to have helped! Remember that hair grows back, so don't fret mistakes; it gets really easy after the third haircut.
Floyd the Barber would be jealous. The perfect Mayberry cut.
Perfect! Looks really good. Thanks for sharing
Loved this guy! Learned a lot about Flowbee too!
I'm glad it helped. The recent pandemic has made haircuts from home very popular.
Just bought this to do my two boys hair(3,5). Thanks for the tutorial. I shave my head bald so I had to relearn how to do this.

@@SAPLSMW most definitely. My uncle has used it since it came out in the 90's. I just have to let the kids wear earbuds because it's to loud for them.

What is the make and model of the electric clippers you use to finish off the back of the neck? Thank you!
I use the Panasonic ER224S. It does the job, but I'd like the battery to last longer.
Thanks! Great instruction!

How did we not know about this before George Clooney???
Great Video! Was really a pleasure to watch. Unfortunately Flowbee ist difficult to get over here in Germany. Your results are really convincing.

lookin sharp mate :] pretty great for diy
My bride did the hard part. The Flowbee makes my part easy.
Good Job! Btw..You could brag to your wife that a lady praised your gorgeous blue eyes! 😍

Dude, nice haircut. Great face.
I see that you put on your best tshirt for a video that will be viewed by thousands😊👌
I have a 3-year-old and a baby. By the end of breakfast, I'm covered in food and bodily fluids--and some of them aren't mine.
Give the guy a break, jeez!
What is the foot spacer for… can I use spacer without the foot?

You were inspirational!
This is great!
You make it look easy. I just fucked my shit up...

Floyd the Barber would be jealous
I have not seen a flowbee since the 80's
Love it!
Will you eventually have to buy new blades and if so, where can they be bought. I would think cutting it wet would not be good for the machine.

The thin film of oil and the constant drying retards any corrosion and the manner in which they slide against each other sharpens them, but I expect to buy new blades sometime around 2030.
I have been using my Flowbee for a good 30 years and I use more than 3 drops of oil on the blades before starting and my blades are still sharp !
Have you tried with dry hair?
I've cut my hair with the Flowbee over 100 times. I haven't found that wet hair is any harder or easier to cut than dry hair.
I wonder if Amal is letting George do her hair with that thing.
nicely done...
nice video ..thanks
Looks like it's easy to mess this up.
You sound like you were an officer. Ole sarge here can tell an officer mile away
Not sure if that was an insult or a complement, but thanks just in case. I was an E5 during the first Gulf War.
@@SAPLSMW.. Thank you for your service sir 🇺🇲
I thought your hair was supposed to be dry?

My hair was sweaty and dirty after mowing the lawn and was about three months longer than usual; I was putting in a lot of hours for my client. When done frequently, the whole process can be completed in ten minutes.
You're going to rust the blades doing your cut with wet hair from my understanding.
Looks great tho

@@SAPLSMW good to know!
This is funny
Since im black i dont think this will work for me 😂

I have no help . Even with help that really looks bad on the back . Starting to regret ordering one of these.
