Glad that you showed some of her wardrobe for us to see how we can apply that knowledge. It’s reassuring to know you don’t have to be 100% on point with every piece. Proud to announce that I guessed her undertone correctly. After watching all of your videos, I think the light pink vs the soft salmon comparison makes people's undertone the most obvious.
Yes! I was analyzed virtually and my undertone is not extremely obvious, but the salmon drape made me look ill. It was super obvious the light pink harmonized much better with my undertone.
Dammit, when I thought I was starting to get the hang of this lol!!! I really was not seeing the warm undertone at first, but later with the winter palette it became clear that it didn't work for her. Still learning hehehe!

Yes! I was thinking of that today because I was looking at one such example. I’m not sure where you’re located but look up the Gilmore Girls. The mom (Lauren Graham) is a winter and the daughter is a summer (Alexis Bledel). Once you see it you can’t unsee it. They look similar enough to play mother and daughter, but yet you can tell they’re different seasons.

We all have varying colouring from blonde blue eyes to auburn hair with hazel eyes to mid brown hair brown eyes and light brown “blondish” hair with hazel eyes. I really wish I could afford for both my sons and I to do this all together. My boys are both very brown skinned and featured, as their dad is Indonesian. She looks so beautiful in those warm colours, I’m so glad you did one on the grey hair topic, people have it so wrong. Especially seeing her near those clothes she brought in - wow! She sparkled like crazy - I love the power of colours!!!!
19:57 OMG!! This was the biggest difference I’ve ever seen between two pallets. I’ve never seen it so obvious before. Definitely a believer now! And comparing the different shades of blue, green, etc makes the temperature so much easier to see!
Yesss eye color has nothing to do with seasons. Rosa has blue eyes but she is still warm, and in fact autumn too which is usually associated with brown eyes.
Rather than go to the hair dresser all the time, to add in warmth… she could consider a copper depositing shampoo or conditioner treatment. Just use it regularly and it’ll have a wash of warmth in the hair - that isn’t covering her greys- just warming them up
Guilia you look amazing today!!!! The red of your skirt and your lips ... so so beautiful! I mean you look always amazing but sometimes I feel the need to tell you 😉
Having her draped in that cool white, and seeing her that way between drapes, I thought her hair highlights were a bit odd. But at the end, with her correct colors and gold earrings and her own clothes, she became a different person! She’s absolutely beautiful, and her hair is gorgeous. Thanks to both of you for going that extra step. Somehow I couldn’t put it all together in my head, and you helped me “get it.” ❤️🥰😁
I agree! I said wow when they took the drape off because I could see the whole picture so much better. She came to life. She’s stunning! I think that stripped shirt was a wonderful wardrobe stable as well. And I loved seeing her clothes! That was the coolest visual for us!!!
I’ve watched many color analysis videos trying to learn, but perhaps I simply do not have the eye for it… In the beginning I thought she looked absolutely beautiful in cool colors, her skin was so smooth and her eyes were sparkling. I thought the warmer colors reflected up on her face in a rather unflattering way. I really thought she was a cool one but… my mistake… 😅 This is tricky!
Years ago when color analysis became popular, my mother had borrowed a book explaining it. It said I was a winter. I went to my closet and started taking clothes out and holding them up near my face. It was surprising how obvious the best colors were. The wrong colors gave my skin a yellow cast
I've seen the reds, pinks and navy/brown. It's very clear that cool colors dull her down and warm colors brighten up her entire face. She looks glowing in the warm colors
You did my color analysis and I am in her age range. I watched this video before my analysis was completed and was so enraptured by her and your analysis of her. Aaaw darling Rosa, she and Errol both have that daydreamy vibe about them❤ such a great and helpful video, Giulia made so many good points about eyes being ”matchy-matchy with the wrong color” and about intensity🤓we learn more and more😍 excellent video as always ladies🤗🤗❤❤❤❤❤❤
She was definetly a warm, each time you changed the drapes the warm colours gave her skin life !❤❤❤ Also the copper choice of her hairdresser it also confirms she is a warm tone!
I do not have grey hair but I really enjoyed this video, it clearly shows how much undertone in the skin matters when wearing different colors. Thank you for this great video! Love from Denmark :)
16:37 Just only with the orange and gold draping it looks like an amazing outfit ! Great look for her . I even think with the grey hair it adds some nice texture to her look even though it’s cool
The cool colors age her and the warm colours make her look so much younger. Wow! Never knew colors could do that. Love the eggplant on Rosa the most. Got to admit I was so confused at the start, I immediately thought warm then changed to cool. I think you should always go with your first instincts, my first impression was correct, who knew.
Haha yeah. Me and my siblings also looks like we're aging backwards nowadays after changing our colours. It's magic. I started to worry when my age started to grow before, but that when I got to know about colour analysis. Couldn't describe how much it saves me from looking older. I actually look younger instead in pictures now.
I liked Warm Spring most on Rosa. Going right from that to Soft Summer, wow, Soft Summer was so much more blegh and draining and greying on Rosa to me! This video is a great example of undertones not always being obvious at first glance and how hair and eyes can be misleading!
Yay! Thank you so much for this video. As a warm undertone woman with blue eyes and silver-white hair, this is fantastic! Great explanations about down-shifting the palette’s intensity with our faded, softer hair. These are wonderful tips about how to adapt. More like this please!
At first glance I thought she might be warm spring, but was questioning warm autumn also. 😄 when I heard that she's Erroll's mum, I thought spring warm would make even more sense now, but later the more gentle autumn became so apparent to me! I'm also an autumn warm (the only one in a family of mostly springs I think😅) and I really love our palette. But I do understand the sorrow about the summer colors 😅 I tried to pull them off so many times without success. 😅 I love Rosa's style, she really made her palette her own. 😍 also the way she warmed up her hair makes it look really natural. I could see myself doing something like this one day.
I’ve always wondered as a red headed autumn what my palette is now that I’m mostly gray. After watching this I think I’m still an autumn. Thanks so much.
Tips for 'recycling' your black clothes: black coat: - wearing a scarf (& hat; balaclava) in your best color or a color of your palette (it's also fun to knit your hat on your own with a knit pattern and choosing the wool yourself) - wearing it open and a monochromatic outfit in a color of your palette underneath (preferably your best color, in my case: olive green chunky knit sweater, a darker more brownish olive green skirt, black tights semi transparent tights and black shoes) Other: - wearing it on the bottom half of your body, away from your face like it was mentioned in the video (includes all your black accessories) - still wearing it because you like it on the top half but wearring earrings in silver or gold and adjusting your makeup in palette, maybe a red lip in your undertone to increase the level of intensity in your face
This was so interesting. There is so little information out there regarding how to cater for and consider grey hair. At the end when her clothes were draped on her the grey shades in her hair seemed to fade away, they were no longer a prominent feature. This is so encouraging to me as someone with a warm undertone: if I get my clothing colours right, I can still keep my grey hair. Thank you so much for sharing. 😊
Wow, Rosa looked gorgeous and glowing in her Autumn warm palette! 😍 Rosa, maybe you can make a new velvet top in that beautiful pumpkin orange color! 😊 That dress from Italy is stunning!!
That dress is not stunning. The pattern is way too big. That dress would wear HER, not the other way round. My rule re patterns is that no element in the pattern should be bigger than my fist. I have a coffee table smaller than those flowers on the lower half of the dress!!!!
I too am an autumn. It takes little analysis, as the yellow in my skin is quite apparent. But it took some doing to rule out Spring. I have I think instinctively realized to stay away from blues. I own not one piece of blue clothing other than jeans, most of which are stone washed in color and are not very intense. I always thought I was weird because I found out oddly that I looked good in orange. But my favorite color of all is green, and I love camouflage shade of green. It is rather dull but it brings out my green eyes. Very good analysis, thank you.
She is so borderline warm autumn and warm spring, the other autumn were harsh and heavy on her. In fact on screen she shouldn't even wear the other autumn palettes. I can't say in person. So glad she leans all of her outfits with warm spring!!!!!
This is so interesting and the final decider for me that I'm definitely Soft Autumn. I always thought that I HAD to be Soft Summer because I have grey eyes which I always happened to think of as blue but they are completely grey, I have very very low contrast in my face and dull, dark 'dirty dog' blonde hair. Then I draped my and my bf's capsule wardrobes and while I wasn't quite sure what the colors did as they were limited to a few colors, what stood out the most was olive green, it's like a complementary color to my 'orange' face and the warm undertone, I have insanely dark eye bags and only the olive green made a noticeable difference. In the past before I knew about Color Analysis I bought a dress for a wedding and chose a satin-y teal color and this was also a definitely noticeably flattering color for me and while I never thought I could wear any type of yellow I got a muted mustard top and this was also noticeably flattering. Apart from Rosa's personal most flattering colors what I could take away from this video was exactly my journey :-D that grey hair or grey/blue eyes doesn't mean that you are automatically cool toned which is what circulates around the internet and that olive green, teal and mustard yellow work very well on Soft Autumns. What I found out for myself and my wardrobe is that the color itself is important but also the level of intensity because even though I'm very fair and low in contrast, low-medium contrast works better for me because it brings a bit life to my face while lighter colors accentuate my eye bags and shadows around my face, so I can still get away with wearing a cool toned color when it's saturated enough in the level of intensity. I have never but will try to look for something in an eggplant color in the future as it looked so good and sophisticated on Rosa, I think it's a very good color for elegant occassions which always overwhelms me when doing shopping for such and it's nice for me personally to have a limited shopping pool in first place. I love these sessions because we as viewers can also train our eye and I happen to find myself color analysing the people around me, I just love seeing people in their best colors :D
I love Rosa in the warm spring colours. Her eyes are bright so she instantly looks very fresh. Pistachio was magnificent on her. In autumn. She's very feminine so flowers work wonderfully. The autumn is great but I love her vivacity in Spring. She has nice thick skin so doesn't cast much shadow on her face. She's lucky to have a natural bright freshness.
What a fabulous demo of colour analysis, really interesting as I’ve let my hair go grey and it has various shades within it…my husband says younger women would pay big bucks to get those highlights!! I have noticed that some of my previous clothes don’t suit me now so I’ll definitely pay more attention to the warm/cool and intensity guidelines you described….thank you! ❤
I love how she's not a shy dresser. That orange skirt/pistachio top combo is _fire._ So bold! Bravo to you. I think I might be a similar season(s) to you. (Although I doubt the orange?) I look the absolute _worst_ in gray, just gastly. We're talking corpse. Also: I know only winters "can" wear black - but I'm giving up my black wardrobe when hell freezes over.
I'd say warm. That first orange colour was fab. Love that you're doing one with grey hair, a lot of myths out there about what happens when our hair colour changes.
After watching a few videos from you. I knew my colours based on the type of oranges/yellows that suit me. The more muted/grey vibes the more flattering. And the fact that light purple suits me and black is too harsh. i knew i had to be a soft autumn.
You put hope back into turning grey. Some analysis things want to tell you that you have to wear cool colors once you are grey. This just won't work on me. I'm autumn through and through.
Wow, she has beautiful clothes. Maybe Rosa could experiment with dying that fuscia coloured velvet blouse she made? Thank you for going through this analysis. It was excellent.
I also got it wrong at the beginning! 🙈 she looked beautiful in both warm and cool to me, grey and navy seemed to look sophisticated on her (maybe a bias about how a person with grey hair should look... :( ). But she does look a lot younger and more vivid in the warm colours! I'm trying to pinpoint what to look for to know when colours work - maybe it would be a powerful or strong look, a coming forward instead of receding...?
I'd say cool for sure! Now to see if I'm way off! Dang it! I'm way off. I first realized I might be wrong when the whites were being compared. I think it might be hard to tell over the internet because the colours are changed based on the screen you're looking at, and the camera changes them a bit.
My favorite episode! I loved seeing how the clothes really form a capsule outfits. While I had a hard time seeing how her face changed, I could see how the hair seemed more golden in response to the colors. Excellent ..excellent! Thank You!!!!
For some of the commenters. I am blue-green eyed… some people would say very blue, others would say turquoise or like the blue-green water in a clear ocean at the beach and I am warm autumn so it can be any eye color. I would love to find a mustard blazer like she has. Sometimes hard to find the perfect autumn warm colors.
As a soft sub-season, I absolutely love a strong reaction to the temperature part of the analysis. It’s so satisfying when you see someone’s face dramatically light up with the right undertones! She looks so wonderful in those rich autumn tones!
Rosa looks beautiful in her colors, and I loved seeing her stylish clothes. I bet all her lunch date pictures look fabulous! Another great video. P.S. I feel this issue myself - but as a Cool Winter w/green hazel eyes and warmth in my graying hair. (I've gone back to coloring until my hair is 100% silver. lol)
I think this was my favourite video as I feel that I wish I was one season type, but my sister says I’m a warm type which I have been in denial about. However, after seeing Rosa I think perhaps I should embrace the possibilities.
First time seeing your videos and as a previous colour consultant I fully agree with you that it is skin undertone that is the deciding factor & nothing to do with eye colour - at least that was what I was taught. Hair does play into it but once you start to grey it is harder to see. Gosh maybe I should go back to colour analysis - was popular back in the 90s. Nice to pick an autumn rather than a winter to show the effects too. And great to discuss her wardrobe and how you can work with other colours out of your season eg away from face or prints.
Ugh I envy her wardrobe and her style! I look forward to that moment in my color analysis journey when most or all of my wardrobe is in palette and suits me and inspires me. For now baby steps.
It might be my monitor settings, but she looks much better in cool tones to me. Those warm-toned highlights in her hair are the only elements that match the warm fabrics.
4:46 Same for me; I was so confused I was questioning my ability to see color. 😵💫 I thought the cool colors made her skin look smooth and creamy. Well, let me finish the video before I jump to conclusions. 🙈
I think you can see the warm looks better against her skin. An initial reading might be that the cool matches her eyes and hair, but that is only superficially so. It is the skin reaction that determines colour grouping, but it can take a while for the eye to train to see these affects.
@@trishagoodwin4069 I'm well aware of the basics. I agree with most of her colour analysis results, but this one looks very off. As I said, might be my monitor settings.
What a great idea to show her clothes in her colors- it really brings it home how flattering warm tones are on her. REALLY enjoyed the advice on prints- very useful as they often combine cool and warm tones, which becomes hard to choose. More advice on prints please!
This was such a helpful video. I'm a deep winter and grew out my white hair a year ago. It made me look faded and easily took on a yellow tone so i got rid of it. This time around I'll have dark lowlights put in. You see everywhere that your natural colour is best but its good to know that doesn't necessarily work with grey! If you have other grey clients I would really love to see more, thank you!
As an autumn warm, confirmed following an analysis by these two lovely ladies, I’m getting so much better with my colours now. The clothing bit at the end was very helpful. I wish I could buy colour swatches in fabric like you use as it would make it easier for me as I’m still not that confident.
Thank you! Fun. I think the camera was perhaps adjusting a bit too slowly for the speed at which the drapes were changing at the beginning. This might have contributed to why I (and some others who commented) found it hard to see the difference between warm and cool at first, although it was certainly clear by the end!
I guessed her to be warm. I had colour analysis years ago and was a spring. It was the best money I ever spent. I started buying only colours in my palate and everything mixed and matched. Absolutely love the clothing she purchased, such beautiful shades and styles. Being a spring I can sometimes wear something from the Autumn palate as they are both warm but autumn is more muted than spring. Love this analysis of your friend.
I want to say thank you for the last session with the clothes and the explanation about patterns. I've just re-assessed a summer shirt I have in my wardrobe that has never been worn. Thanks to your explanation about the overall effect of the pattern and colours when it comes to matching to season, I've realised it's totally spring even though a couple of pinks are a bit cooler in it. It's now going to be worn next summer!
Why did I like the cool colors on her ?
So did I. Maybe because different screens show colours a bit differently. Or bcs your own tone is cool and you r biased towards it.
Me too
I experienced the same when I saw one done in person yesterday. I’m thinking that the person might be kinda close to neutral when it’s hard to tell.

This video is a great example of undertones not always being obvious at first glance and how hair and eyes can be misleading!
Giulia, your hair is growing so much, quite quickly, it's gorgeous 😊
I noticed this too.
I love Rosa's style, she really made her palette her own. 😍 also the way she warmed up her hair makes it look really natural. I could see myself doing something like this one day.
I’ve always wondered as a red headed autumn what my palette is now that I’m mostly gray. After watching this I think I’m still an autumn. Thanks so much.
Hi. If you find that true/ warm autumn may be too warm for your coloring now, I suggest to try soft autumn colors.
Tips for 'recycling' your black clothes:
black coat:
- wearing a scarf (& hat; balaclava) in your best color or a color of your palette (it's also fun to knit your hat on your own with a knit pattern and choosing the wool yourself)
- wearing it open and a monochromatic outfit in a color of your palette underneath (preferably your best color, in my case: olive green chunky knit sweater, a darker more brownish olive green skirt, black tights semi transparent tights and black shoes)
Other:
- wearing it on the bottom half of your body, away from your face like it was mentioned in the video (includes all your black accessories)
- still wearing it because you like it on the top half but wearring earrings in silver or gold and adjusting your makeup in palette, maybe a red lip in your undertone to increase the level of intensity in your face
Thank you! I’m just starting that journey.
I liked spring too.
I loved the bit showing her favour clothes. She looks amazing jn those yellow and orange tones
That was great. Really wish I knew my colors!
Loved the part where you talked about her wardrobe together! I'd love to see more of that! Best analysis so far ❤
I had a session with Giulia this morning. Not only was it fun, I learned heaps 😀
Thanks a lot Jenny ❤
Wonderful! Seeing Rosa’s lovely wardrobe pieces was very interesting. She has a beautiful eye for contemporary clothes.
I thought the same about dyeing the blouse a warmer colour.
Remember we can dye our clothes in most cases, like the dark red velvet shirt, maybe it could be turned into a dark brown?
I'd say cool for sure! Now to see if I'm way off!
Dang it! I'm way off. I first realized I might be wrong when the whites were being compared. I think it might be hard to tell over the internet because the colours are changed based on the screen you're looking at, and the camera changes them a bit.
I have seen two comparisons so far. Cool is my guess now
Ok, wrong. But I could see it later
I think it’s cool from the first swatch!
It's interesting that such fair skin can tolerate a fairly high intensity
My favorite episode! I loved seeing how the clothes really form a capsule outfits. While I had a hard time seeing how her face changed, I could see how the hair seemed more golden in response to the colors. Excellent ..excellent! Thank You!!!!
Errol's mom?! I 100% assumed Rosa was Giulia's mom!! They look alike to me!
We are very flattered by your comment, especially since you're a former colleague. Thanks a lot for watching and commenting ❤
Italian dress is perfection! Loved this analysis
No, no the cool colours made her skin look ashy white and unhealthy!
Cool looks better (much fewer wrinkles and deep wrinkles not so deep)!
Absolutely love how her face glowed with tjr correct colours. She shone!
Having her bring her clothes was SUPER helpful!
Hi. I suggest to watch the vids of First Coffee then Colors. She analyzed her mom (before was a summer, now a winter).
This explained a lot for those of us who are turning grey! Thank you!
Yay! An autumn with blue eyes!!
