I think the fact that you (as the stylist) wear white and the room is white reeeeeeally helps me see the difference in how these colors impact the skin. I already know I'm about to binge this entire channel! I'm so interested in color analysis!
Does anyone know if the colour analysis has to be done based on your natural hair colour or can it be done using dyed hair colour. I’m finding things confusing! I have naturally mid brown hair and grey/green eyes, but have my hair a dark brown/black at the moment. The only thing I know is that black and white suit me the best of all colours and maybe light blue
@@colouranalysis_studio Please may I ask a question that I keep thinking about...If a person has a seasonal analysis assessment and they are found to be Spring Light, is Summer light their sister group? Which is the main tell tale colour that shows a person must be Spring Light? Thankyou very much x
I loved seeing a cool brunette not getting shoehorned into winter, thank you for this! I am the same, darker hair but a cool summer. Medium, soft, cool colors look so much better. I spent so long thinking I was a winter, but I look much less severe in summer colors over winter. Cool peach/coral, greyish lavender, sage, baby blue, chef's kiss! My eyes are a grey/green mottled color, and I love green clothes the most.
I feel I’m actually the opposite. I have ashy lighter brown and feel I have more low intensity with the hair but I feel the intense blue and pink from winter look best on me
Yes! I said Soft Summer instantly (I'm Light Summer) since she has low contrast like me, just soft, muted. I am grey haired now and many people think I'm Winter, but I was blond before going grey, so my contrast wasn't sufficient to make me Winter. :)
As a cool summer myself, I love your set of drapes for cool summer! Finally someone with the drapes that have a proper level of coolness and intensity, not too washed out, without browns and beiges. Thanks for posting!
yes. Cool summer here also. I had the Color Me Beautiful books back in the 80s and I disliked many of the colours in the Summer palette particularly the beiges, browns and the yellow. I cannot tolerate yellow at all and it really should not be included in any of the cool season palettes imo because yellow is the warmest of all colours. You can't make a cool yellow, you can only water it down with white. Winters can get away with it simply because they have high intensity and depth of colouring.
@@svetabogush8266 In terms of appearance, I have a fair rosy skin that doesn’t tan at all, and my eyes are dark blue, like a dark denim color, so that allows me to pull off more contrast than a soft summer. In terms of color, soft summers have some muted peach, khaki, cream, brownish greige colors that are not my best. Soft summers can pull off a muted cool brown whereas my ‘flattering brown’ is wine/burgundy. Anything with a hint of yellow looks worse than without it.
Hands down the best demonstration online of color analysis! That mauve was just stunning on her! I love seeing the differences in color and how they react to the undertones, so fabulous!
Thank you. I really like your approach to color analysis - in fact, I think I prefer your method and delivery to others I’ve seen, because of how thorough y’all are with each analysis. The follow up towards the end - with ‘borrowing’ from other seasons, is so very beneficial. That double check aspect (a true summer is best in that realm, whereas a cool summer can borrow from cool winter at times…) is the most helpful to me. I’m able to recognize why some colors work for me, even though they seem a little unexpected.
I agree. I am a summer color but wasn't sure why I can wear winter colors, too. In a "professional" business setting I wear quite a few winter colors for my intensity and seriousness. In my personal time I wear summer season coloring and feel more relaxed and happy. As I have aged and moved up the corporate ladder I have allowed myself to wear less dramatic shades of cool and enjoy each day a little more!!+ This color theory stuff is true and it works to help me be my best self!! Thank you for sharing your expertise. ❤️
The background of the studio as well as the white shirt the analyst is wearing really helps to see the difference! And taking the time to see the comparison against the face is so helpful. Thank you ❤
This is soooo helpful! I’m a summer but couldn’t tell if I can do winter or not… you really used verbiage that makes sense to me! You are my favorite color analysis channel!
This makes a lot of sense to me, since I have similar features with Saskia, only my hair and eye colors are darker and skin tone lighter. People were used to assume me being a winter, even myself kinda believed that. But most winter colors just look harsh on me, even black drags me down. That’s when I started to realize I’m probably a summer type. And it’s so true that when we wear makeups, we are usually increasing our intensity, which allows us to borrow a few colors from neighbor pallets. I often “steal” from the winter pallets when I’m wearing full makeup, nothing extreme though.
You are very professional. I find that amazing. A lot of people are spreading misinformation online and try to persuade people into thinking their services are better than others. Whereas you just do your job with passion, and deliver facts based on education and years of professional training. Well done.
This is so good guys. I have been learning about colors for a long time now but just watching 3 of your videos things got so much clearer! Please do the analysis for someone with light olive skin.
I’m so impressed with how professional you both are. I enjoyed episodes as you did color analysis on each other. I was told I was an autumn, in my 30’s, and a winter in my 40’s. I have auburn hair (tinted since age 18), and green eyes. I’m now 74, and this still fascinates me… You ladies are terrific! I wish you great success!!
When I had my color analysis, with my family and a few friends around, they all said Oh, Wow! when the analyst put the pale aqua (blue/green) drape on me. They said it looked like I had foundation, blush, powder and lipstick on, so much did it smooth and brighten my coloring. It’s been one of my best colors ever since, and this season it’s finally available in clothes again. I love a top in this color with white jeans, trousers or skirt, it’s very fresh and springlike.
This was so helpful. I always thought I was a cool winter because cobalt blue is my best color but now I realize I am a cool summer and that is why cobalt blue looks so good on me along with a kelly green but some of the other colors in the winter cool palette do not work.
This is by far the best channel and the best videos I have ever seen on this topic. Can't wait to see all the subgroups covered! There are colour analysts out there who are making mistakes and just don't have the depth of knowledge and understanding of nuances that you do.
Thank you so much Sue, we are so glad you like our channel! We are doing our best to bring you guys the highest-quality content possible. Thank you again for your support xxx
Glad you mentioned the red lipstick, there's a lot of "red is a big no no for summers" and I'm always like isn't there a red literally in the palette? Same as that cool pinkish brown. I also always liked lower contrast girlies with a darker lipstick to be honest, looks very runway/editorial to me, or am I crazy?
Oh! That explain why I can borrow some spring colors, even though I'm definitely a winter. I'm a bright winter and I can borrow from bright spring. Not the best fit, but still more flattering than the soft summer ones.
I have been unsure if I am a cool summer or a cool winter. Seeing the comparison of the different sub groups of summer and then the comparison to the cool winter palate at the end was soooo helpful! I am very similar to this young lady in that I straddle the area between them but I think I, too, am more of a cool summer and now I can see the difference. The darkness of the winter cool is just a tad too much. I don’t have quite enough contrast in my features to carry those darker tones as well. At least not without makeup to help. It also confirms for me why I prefer some of the blues in my wardrobe over others even though they all look good. Some are just *chef’s kiss* perfect compared to the “pretty good” of the others. Thank you for sharing this 😊
It’s so validating to hear a professional say that for those of us closer to medium intensity/depth, but definitely cool, at least some of the colors from both true summer and true winter will work well. This has definitely been my experience!
These videos at]re absolutely fascinating! It would be very interesting to see some analysis being done on some people with unusual colourings, eg, very fair hair or red hair, other skin or eye tones etc
I love this since I just got my color analysis done yesterday, and it turns out I’m a summer too. Went for so long thinking I was an Autumn since I have brown hair and brown eyes. These videos has been so informative, please keep making them!
I love these analyses! Your process of elimination by testing related subgroups at the end is so clear and logical, and has really helped round out my understanding of the seasons. I’m also really appreciating the season chart you use which differs a bit from the typical American chart I’m used to seeing. Makes so much more sense to me, with ‘True’ being a balanced blend of all three traits. Always looking forward to the next video!
It really is amazing how well your channel is already doing! Colour Analysis is so on trend right now and your presentation is perfection! I looked on your website and had an idea for another option. I hope you don't mind the suggestion. I see you analyze photos with a session afterward. I bet people would pay just for the information from the photos without the personal session. It would be a great way for people at access your services that maybe couldn't afford the $200 AU. Just an idea! Keep up the great work! - Jen
Love this! So impressed with both of you. I’ve been watching for months and finally just paid to have my color analysis done through you guys. I can’t wait!
This is the only video that explains it all perfectly, I think I finally figured out my season, im also like Saskia summer cool and my second best is winter cool. Thank you very much

I think I must be the same season and subgroup. I can wear those same colours, and look good in cobalt, hot pink, and black when I’m wearing makeup. Thanks for sharing your analysis!
This session was particularly helpful. I also have dark hair with light skin. I’ve just had my colors done and I am also a Summer. I’m also a Cool Summer. Your comparisons with the CoolWinter really helped, because I always wore Winter colors. The comparison of the two navies clarified the differences. Thank you. Grazie!
@eva - DA is warm undertone, DW is cool undertone. If you want to watch draping vids, watch those of Jannat Ara (DA), HeyHershey (DW), Hyeri Vlog (winter), Darcie (autumn).
I was going to request that too! I can’t tell if I’m one or the other. And recently I found out someone can be both so I’m getting a little frustrated.
@@colouranalysis_studio I’m looking forward to that 😁 I’m struggling to figure out if I’m a dark winter or dark autumn. Is it possible someone can be both?
I just learned SO MUCH. Thank you for putting this online! This was such a fun class for me to follow along with using my own clothes matching your color samples. I was completely wrong thinking I had warm undertones because I like autumn colors so much, but turns out I have cool undertones and medium-high intensity!!! It's funny because those are always the colors I gravitate towards when I want to look my best - I wonder why! The graphs were so helpful to keep track of what area of colors we were looking at. Thanks again!
Everything is clear and , but when you contrasted the navy blue and the brown, the brown was not a clear loser. It made her eyes better than the navy blue and it matched her brows. I wonder if others see this too?
Wow! I'd be super interested to see you do one of these with a person of colour. I always see colour palette videos but it's almost never with people of coloured skin.
Hi. If you want to see draping vids of tanned POC, I suggest to watch the draping vids of Jannat Ara and HeyHershey. Carol Brailey also did an analysis/ draping vid of a dark skinned POC on her channel.
I love watching these. I can’t wait to see a dark autumn so I can see the comparison to the other sub groups that you test it against to finalize your decision. I had my analysis done in the mid 80’s by color me beautiful and was autumn. I had it done again this year. I was told true autumn but some of the colors weren’t working great when I was shopping so I went back in and it was decided I was dark autumn. I feel confident in this. I don’t think I could be anything else. But I love to see how you solidify your sub groups.
IMO this system is far superior to both the old and current Color Me Beautiful systems which keep changing and are confusing for both analysts and clients! They dropped the seasonal naming and use a system that is not logical or clear cut and is just unnecessarily complicated.
I was analyzed in the early 90s. I was a “Spring”, sub seasons were not a thing. I was in my early 30s. I was analyzed again in August of 2022 as a Light Spring. So not much change, even though I am much older!
@beth - you were probably a true spring before and are now a light spring. Some analysts say that as we age, we can become softer/ more muted. Light spring is the softer version of spring (near to summer).
@@kitty_s23456 It could also be because 12 season systems weren't widely used in the early 90s! One of the first (if not the first) of these was by Kathryn Kalisz, with her Sci/ART company in 2000.
Wow! This is the first of the many color analysis videos I’ve watched that has helped me find out which I am-a summer cool, like your model! Thank you very much!
Love this analysis. As I just received my online colour analysis from you and am a Cool Summer, I loved watching this process and seeing the different drape colours. Great videos!
This is the BEST clear explanation and demonstration of color analysis I’ve seen. Thank you 🙏 I see so many fast paced examples online but not any truly helpful explanation as to why.
Very informative, thank you. I had her pegged as a Summer, not because I have any training, but only because I can often recognize my own Summer type. I had my Color Me Beautiful analyses 40 years ago, when our Mom treated my sister and I to it. It has been very useful over the years. This system didn’t have the subtypes then, but I expect I’m a Soft Summer, I’m only slightly cool and closer to neutral than many Summers. In the last few years since my gray hair started coming in, quite late - not until my late 50s, I’ve noticed that my skin has become lighter and pinker, having lost that bit of yellow it had (my regular foundation looks too dark and yellowish now). I think I need an update!
Hi. You were probably a "true summer" before and now you're a "soft summer" - the more muted version. Some analysts say that as we age, we tend to get softer/ more muted. An updated analysis on you would be great, I think. Cheers!
Just started watching but my guess is soft and cool. Definitely one of the summers. Even though its warm that off white looks better imo because of the softness.
I love these comparisons! Growing up my Nana said I was a winter person and to stay away from yellow toned colors. I naturally gravitate towards summer cool, winter cool, silver... strongly dislike rust red on me. A lot of trial and error over the years.
So grateful to see such a detailed analysis. I’m have natural dark auburn hair with black eyebrows and lashes just like my brother and grandmother but going grey now Brown eyes and so freaking pale that I blend with printer paper. Whenever I do those quizzes I get contradictory results.
I knew she will be a Cool/True Summer. Eventhough I know I'm a Soft Summer I love these because it introduces types to colours they would have not thought about before but suit them so well. Amazing video!
She seems in between summer and winter because the colors looked too washed out for her. She looks good with medium brightness and with medium- dark colors only. The light colors and the soft colors looked the worst on her.
Another well done video! I would love to see an analysis on someone who is more neutral toned like a dark winter or dark autumn and maybe if they can share some colors.
Excellent point that Saskia can borrow some colors from the winter pallate, too. I used to think I color typing was very strict and once you had your colors done, you had to stick with that pallate only. 💚
Right at the beginning I thought that she's a Cool Summer :-) I recognize it quite easily, because in my personalized palette I'm a mix of Cool Summer and Light Summer, and during the summer time when I'm tanned I can borrow some pinks from the Bright Winter palette.
I feel so lucky I thought from the start I had same undertones and after seeing colour analysis I realised that I also enjoy the same colours it’s confirmed to me what my undertone is looking forward to catching up with your channel thankyou 😊
I stumbled upon this video and it was so amazing! I was always wondering what colors to wear and I am exactly Saskias colors so it was very helpful. Now I need to find same video about hair colors 😅
her color season characteristics are similar to mine (I trend more in the soft summer direction) so this was really helpful. I also really appreciate how you explain all the color nuances and why one looks better than the other.
Loved this analysis and explanation. To me, she looked great in both reds, but the first red was just even better. Super interesting as this wouldn’t be obvious if you didn’t have the two shades back to back to compare!
I loved this video! It was fantastic to see so much of the process and the lighting/settings allowed for a good representation of real-life conditions! So fun :)

@eva - DA is warm undertone, DW is cool undertone. If you want to watch draping vids, watch those of Jannat Ara (DA), HeyHershey (DW), Hyeri Vlog (winter), Darcie (autumn).
@@colouranalysis_studio Yay! It's just because I think I am one of those, but I have quite neutral skin tone so I am not 100% sure which.
This was probably the best color analysis I have ever seen . Thanks so much !
❤ The best colour analysis videos, so professional. Impressive!
Nope. Blue was her colour. Brown killed her complexion
Thank You so much ! This is the best colour analysis online ! ❤
@@kitty_s23456 Thanks!!
I enjoy these so much . Lots of light from USA 🇺🇸. You have a romantic voice and upbeat energy .
@@RosieGoodburn yeah. I think in the original Color Me Beautiful book from the 1980s, it was only 4 seasons. Now, there's 12 or 16 seasons. Cheers!
Wow! This is the first of the many color analysis videos I’ve watched that has helped me find out which I am-a summer cool, like your model! Thank you very much!
Same colors as Saskia! Very informative and thorough
Love this analysis. As I just received my online colour analysis from you and am a Cool Summer, I loved watching this process and seeing the different drape colours. Great videos!
Please, post more videos! You’re so good!
This really helped me see what my actual colors are. Thank you.
This woman is a very good teacher!!!
So grateful to see such a detailed analysis. I’m have natural dark auburn hair with black eyebrows and lashes just like my brother and grandmother but going grey now Brown eyes and so freaking pale that I blend with printer paper. Whenever I do those quizzes I get contradictory results.
I can’t wait to see more different skin tones I am always confused with colors that looks best on me.
I knew she will be a Cool/True Summer. Eventhough I know I'm a Soft Summer I love these because it introduces types to colours they would have not thought about before but suit them so well. Amazing video!
I love your analysis. Very understandable and straightforward.
She seems in between summer and winter because the colors looked too washed out for her. She looks good with medium brightness and with medium- dark colors only. The light colors and the soft colors looked the worst on her.
I'm so happy I discovered your channel and looking forward to more videos!!! I just watched them all back to back. 🙂
It's so nice to see a summer! I'm loving your videos and I'm so excited for any future uploads!
Oh the first swatches I reacted to the cooker red immediately
Another well done video! I would love to see an analysis on someone who is more neutral toned like a dark winter or dark autumn and maybe if they can share some colors.
Excellent point that Saskia can borrow some colors from the winter pallate, too.
I used to think I color typing was very strict and once you had your colors done, you had to stick with that pallate only.
💚
there are no colour police coming to get you. You can wear a hessian sack if you want lol
Right at the beginning I thought that she's a Cool Summer :-) I recognize it quite easily, because in my personalized palette I'm a mix of Cool Summer and Light Summer, and during the summer time when I'm tanned I can borrow some pinks from the Bright Winter palette.
I really liked the summer light for her, but the summer cool looks good too! Nice job ❤
I feel so lucky I thought from the start I had same undertones and after seeing colour analysis I realised that I also enjoy the same colours it’s confirmed to me what my undertone is looking forward to catching up with your channel thankyou 😊
Your videos are so interesting. I’m so happy I found your channel. Now I’m dreaming to learn to do colour analysis as you do. It’s amazing.
Love this, understand the seasons so much better after watching. Would love to see a cool winter.
I stumbled upon this video and it was so amazing! I was always wondering what colors to wear and I am exactly Saskias colors so it was very helpful. Now I need to find same video about hair colors 😅
You are such a talented analyst
her color season characteristics are similar to mine (I trend more in the soft summer direction) so this was really helpful. I also really appreciate how you explain all the color nuances and why one looks better than the other.
Amazing! And my colors are exactly like Saskia...
Loved this analysis and explanation. To me, she looked great in both reds, but the first red was just even better. Super interesting as this wouldn’t be obvious if you didn’t have the two shades back to back to compare!
Your process never fails to impress me! Loving your videos so much! Can't wait for more 🥰
I loved this video! It was fantastic to see so much of the process and the lighting/settings allowed for a good representation of real-life conditions! So fun :)
Thank you for a detailed description and analysis! Your spread knowledge helped a lot! I am summer too. I love your videos!
Amazing video - you explained everything so well. 👏
I think a white cotton headband to cover the hairline before layering the kerchief would be nice.
Your videos are incredible! Classy, informative, captivating… even relaxing and ASMR-inducing. Bravo.
Amazing 😍 I was waiting for a summer! The top she is wearing is such a perfect colour for her!
Totally agree ❤🌈
Thank you. Your methodology and presentation is excellent. It also reinforces what I have been told and figured out.
