Thank you! Kind words are always appreciated and help to keep the old man going. My only problem with the door is that the kids love to open it by pushing on the screen, and it shows,
I’ve been watching too many videos on making a screen door and I had the same thoughts on Home Depot wood and pocket screws. I kept thinking, “this is not how they used to be made!” Thanks for calling them out and thanks for posting such a great video! The family moments are great and I wish there were more videos like this and less of all the “UA-camr” spotless workshops that cost $100k.
Thanks Christopher! I agree, lots of spotless videos. Spotless is not an affliction I have ever experienced. Watch a few of my videos and you will see! Barry

Karen Thank you for the nice comment! And yes the door is fine, 99 years to go to meet my prediction. The foundry is what we call our metal working shop, don’t recall exactly what that comment was referring too. I agree, reclaimed is the best but it is labor intensive and a investment in storage space. Thanks again Barry
John Of course there is. I am willing to bet ten bucks that door will be fine in 98 years ( it is two years old now). Any way, thanks for watching snd thanks for taking the time to comment. Barry
Love this, man. Thanks a lot for putting it up.
Also love to see families making memories from simple things.

Great work.
I'm planning to make my own screen door, Key West style, this video was very helpful.
WSS
Glad the video was of help! Good luck with your project.

Beautiful family and so great that you get to make such awesome memories with them. Love the door too.
Thanks David!
I am a very lucky guy, no doubt about it.

Wonderful work! How did you join the four 90-degree corner angles? Were there dowels or tenons?
Thanks MGM. The double half lap joints at the corners are glue joints. No mechanical fasteners.
Barry
G I didn’t know there was a glue that could last 100 years in the rain.
Of course it will! I will bet you five bucks!
Anyway, thanks for watching!
