You made me feel real dumb with the straight edge to cut a straight cut on roughcut boards. I been battling with roughcut pine for a year lol

    Awesome work!
To build on your hot glue sled trick, I learned somewhere some denatured alcohol makes the hot glue let go super easy. Keep a little spray bottle handy

Nice but too complicated for the average home owner to do

Nice job on this door. I am building a door for my sons house that will have interchangeable screens for the summer and glass inserts for the winter. It gets cold here in Pennsylvania.
Out of curiosity, you have 40 hours on the job. What did you charge the customer for this nice creation? I ask because I am retired and am always being asked by friends and acquaintances to make things for them and they will pay me. I always turn them down because I don't think I can charge what its worth. I retired because I don't need a job to live, but wondered if you could make money doing custom carpentry like you are doing. Keep up the good work I enjoyed your video.

Here is some justification for you book-matching the grain, even though it will be painted. Who knows what will become of this door sometime down the road? Someone may decide to strip the paint and go more natural. They will be pleasantly surprised when you have matched the grain properly.

Mike, that’s a great point that I didn’t consider. I book matched the panels even though it would be painted because it just made sense. I had to resaw my 4/4 stock to get the right thickness for the panels, so why not orient the grain together? It was not any extra work. Thanks for watching.
