@@MooreaThill I tried but I realized my D5500 doesn’t do HSS and I already got the xpro trigger for Nikon, I tried using it on my mirrorless sony A7RIII, but it doesn’t work, I guess because it’s for NIKON.
I’ve had an AD200Pro for a while and haven’t made great use of it. I need to shoot more! Question for you: Is it normal to have a coast in Maui that’s not jam packed with people? I’m from NH where we have one tiny section of coast, and it’s always full of people
Could you shoot a video explaining how to sync your trigger with your light? I have the same light and trigger but I can’t figure out how to connect them
Moorea Thill HA ok UPDATE! I actually figured it out somehow I really don’t know how though but now the light works whenever I press the shutter but it would still be nice to be able to watch a very detailed video that is basically dummy proof so anybody can figure out how to sync their light with their camera. Thank you so much
@@kbstrong9775 That's awesome! I had to do a lot of research before on how to match the lights to the trigger when wanting to use multiple flashes so Ill work on making a video on it :)
You did not use CTO gel at the beach. Did you match the colors temperatures in post? The AD200 has ~5500K color temperature but the sunset's is totally different.
Humm I wish I could help you out but I shoot canon! I would imagine if the HSS is enabled on the flash itself it would automatically work with your camera no matter what the brand
Great suggestion! I'll look into it but for the most part, I just use L-series glass which is weather sealed so a little rain shouldn't be a big deal. 👍
Thank you for this. I recently purchased the ad200 pro and I'm excited to use it at a shoot. I downloaded the ocf guide, joined the fb group and subscribed to your channel. I look forward to seeing your content
Absolutely! I am working hard on a new private OCF video from a family session for my ocf students soon. Im actually doing research calls this week to ask more questions and find out what you guys want to see more of. If you are interested I would love to chat and ask you a few questions Here is the link - calendly.com/mooreathill/researchcall
Nice work! Can I ask you a question. When you expose for the background ambient, are you underexposing slightly ( 1 stop, etc), in order to make the subject pop in HSS? Thanks. William!!
I've been so lost until now! 😅😓😭 thank you for explaining high speed sync lol. 🤦🏻♀️ I'm still learning and I find flashes sooo hard .. now I need to figure out how to work 2 or more lights at a time lol
That's a great idea, I normally have sandbags with me but forgot them that day. I tried to use my backpack too but it just didn't work as well as the foot 😂
Great video and great exposure. You should maybe try a H200R round head kit with AK-R1 kit for the AD200 Pro. It disperses light very nice and even. I've never tried the kit your using in this video but it seems kind of similar to the AK-R1 kit. Becoming a big fan of OCF. I currently use 1 AD200 Pro with the mentioned kits and 3 V1 units all with AK-R1 kits and over 500 Rosco color gels.
Great question Danny! So with flash its always a dance of balancing ISO and Power for me. If I want the overall image to be brighter but want to keep the aperture where it is, I will raise the ISO and drop the flash power to balance the image as a whole. I find that I do this a lot with sunsets because the light is moving so fast it's a constant shifting of settings to get the look I want. I hope this helps :)
Hei Moorea, tyhank for amazing video again! :) I am you bug fan ...I use almost the same equiopment as you . I bought a sand bags for my standm, cause imn my area is also windy... :))))) But they are heavy to care far a way, so sometimes have my boyfriend as assistens to cary the havy things... :)

Moorea... I have the same equipment, but I cant sync the trigger with my Flash...
Please edit that link as it’s not working and am interested in learning more, thanks! 🙏🏼
I just got the ad200pro and I’ll try this tomorrow.thanks
Woohoo let me know what you think!

Are the steps to correctly expose the background, then use the flash?
Yes ☺
I’ve had an AD200Pro for a while and haven’t made great use of it. I need to shoot more!
Question for you: Is it normal to have a coast in Maui that’s not jam packed with people? I’m from NH where we have one tiny section of coast, and it’s always full of people
Hey great question, Maui is pretty spread out so it is often times easier to find a section without a ton of people in your shot.
I was thinking on buying ad400. But wow that ad200 plus my Flashpoint v1 is all I need. Your video was very informative.
Beautiful portraits 🤩
Looks like one ad200 has enough power for hss inside the softbox. Awesome
Such a great light 👍🏼
I got the same flash , what the difference to u the flash instead to put on the bulb
They offer a different type of light spread depending on what you are looking to accomplish
What light stands do you use as I had my light stand let me down when it got windy and cost me 769 dollars in too new ad200 pros
I have my light stands linked here - urlgeni.us/amazon/photo-gear
Love your attitude and your pictures. Well done.
Thank you :)
so helpfull thanks
Glad it helped!

You are so welcome
If u mention setting of camera and hss light seting it would be help to beginners...
Hi there! right around thee 5:30 mark I mention these things 👍🏼
Just...wow !! Nice job.!!
Thank you!!

Honestly this was made so long ago I am not sure at this point but I dont think I used a CTO
That you soooooo much for this video!!!!!
anytime
I cannot sync godox ad200 with sony A7 M3. What's the issue???
Sorry I shoot canon so i cant really help you out on this one.
Wow what just happened @ 5:25!!! Chic! Those images are fantastic! They caught me off guard 😂. Beautiful work!
Thank you! We had a lot of fun that day
2021 still very useful!👍🏾
What is the setting for Sony camera to work hss mode??
Humm I wish I could help you out but I shoot canon! I would imagine if the HSS is enabled on the flash itself it would automatically work with your camera no matter what the brand
Can you use it for Videography
No this is not a video light but the godox sl60w is 👍🏼
Hi what lenses did you used with this one?
I think It was my 50mm 1.2
are you from Germany ?
nope from USA
Do you use gels?
Sometimes I do but I don think I did for this particular shoot
Great video. Can you do one on how you protect your gear from the elements while at the beach especially?
Great suggestion! I'll look into it but for the most part, I just use L-series glass which is weather sealed so a little rain shouldn't be a big deal. 👍
Love the photos from the beach! 😍
Glad you like them! and thanks for watching :)
Great video. Fun too.
Glad you enjoyed it!
great sunset shooting!!🙏
thank you!
Yes plzzz can you do a the tutorial that you said 🙏🙏🙏
Great video!!
Thanks!
This is great!! Can’t wait to try these techniques! What trigger do you use with your Canon 5D Mark IV? Thank you!
i use this one amzn.to/3xgClR5
Nice video. Try using weights, #2, #5 on light stands, easy to do.
Thank you!

woohoo! very exciting
Why did you need high speed sink? It seems like the sun wasn’t so powerful during the first part of the shoot.
I use HSS when I want my aperture to be low then resulting in the shutter needing to go over 1/200
Beautiful!!!!
Thank you!
The ones with the purple flowers 🔥🔥🔥
Thank you! Those were my fav too!!
just wow! such beautiful shots and such a beautiful location. awesome work.
Thank you!

Thank you for such a detailed video. Amazing shots you got there.
Thanks a ton!
Love the behind the scene video. I am very jealous of where you live. Awesome video!
Maui is pretty amazing! I'm so appreciative that I get to live and work here.
Nice work! Can I ask you a question. When you expose for the background ambient, are you underexposing slightly ( 1 stop, etc), in order to make the subject pop in HSS? Thanks. William!!
When I expose for ambient I typically try and hit the exposure right on the nail for the highlights.
Moorea Thill Thanku. So many underexpose a bit, to mk the subject pop.
I've been so lost until now! 😅😓😭 thank you for explaining high speed sync lol. 🤦🏻♀️
I'm still learning and I find flashes sooo hard .. now I need to figure out how to work 2 or more lights at a time lol

love it! I'm realizing I'm liking Photography more and more... Thanks for this video

CUTE!
Very nice work!
great video! also you can get 2 shopping bags and fill them with sand and tie them up for your softbox stand

Awesome vid and pics!! Very nice work!! Thanks Moorea!❤❤❤
Love this video. Beautiful scenery! Your AD200 nailed it. I am considering buying it.
You should! Its so great!
I hope you’re now using sand bags to keep your soft box stand from blowing away..🙃😊😊
hahah yes!
Love the art of photography!! Beautiful.
Thank you :)
Super
Thank you
Need some Maui sand bags on the light stand LoL. Great video!!
Haha I sure do 😂 thanks for watching 😊
Why don’t you weigh down the flash stand?
Gorgeous scenery!! You're so thorough in your explanations!!
that makes me so happy to hear! flash can be complicated so I try my best to make sure I'm making sense 😂
Quick hands!!! 🤣🤣👍👍
Please get a sandbag for your stand O.O
I've enjoyed your vid....Wherever that place is, is also beautiful.
Glad you enjoyed it! This was in South Maui :)
Love it
Yay I am so happy to hear that!
Amaizing! What was your camera settings?
Each shot is slightly different but you can see the settings on the LCD screen :)
I feel dumb because I have godox ad200s and my shoots never look like this. 😕
haha try the hair dryer method

Awesome info! I've been trying to learn more about this so thanks for the tips!
Anytime :)
omg you are so pretty
❤️
Its not necessary to turn on HHS on the AD200. If you enable it on your camera and trigger the flash will automatically switch to hhs.
Got it! Thanks for the tip
You Had Me At Sail Boat lol
do you remember what made you want to raise your iso to 400 and drop you flash power ?

I should try and convince my boyfriend to carry my things 😂thanks for watching Maggy! I am so happy to hear you are enjoying my content.
That happens but it was a great video just hated seeing the wind destroy your gear if it came to that you were on guard to catch it.
Try putting weights on your light stand
Normally I do but i forgot them that day 😂
Wow
sand bag would have helped
Yup! unfortunately I didn't pack any with me that day
I would infest in at least one sandbag 😂. Too windy there sista. Or make an improvised one. That’ll save your light
You should not be picking/killing those flowers. What if every other photographer did the same? Shame on you!
