- In this video, I will be giving you some tips and tricks to start your Off-Camera Flash Journey. I start if off by discussing the Basic concepts you need to know about your flash system, like Manual or TTL mode, Flash Sync Speed and High Speed Sync (HSS). Then, I discuss the 5 Exposure variables for Flash Photography. Lastly, I share my thoughts and the process on how I apply these concepts in how I light while showing you some Behind the Scenes Photos and the actual output of those BTS.
Camera Equipment: Sony A7R MarkII and MarkIII
Lenses: Sony GMasters and Zeiss Batis Lenses

Just something about me…
Since prior to my entry into the wedding industry, I have been considered to be one of the most reputable lighting specialists in the Philippines, conducting workshops nationwide and have been featured in various photography magazines. I was also a multi-awarded portrait and advertising photographer.
My expertise is in manipulating ambient and artificial light to create clean and classic photographs which naturally led me to the genre of portrait and wedding photography. Since then, I have shot numerous weddings locally and overseas exhibiting my signature style.
I am also a Sony Philippines Brand Ambassador,
Zeiss Camera Lens South East Asia Local Ambassador and International Phottix Pro Teamer.
THE BEST video I have ever seen explaining the concepts of off-camera flash.
Me too
Didn’t know I would get so hooked to a PowerPoint presentasion.
Knowledge and inspiration went from 25% to 100%!
Glad you enjoyed it
@@JiggieAlejandrino aperture control flash exposure if flash in manual only right jiggie? Thanks
I have been photographing for a few years, had exhibitions, watched online courses and videos but nothing gave me so much clarity as your videos. And also, I really hated flash photography until this video here! I followed you on IG as well, learning a lot from you even though we have very different styles!
That’s great to Hear! :)
You are becoming one of my new favorite UA-camrs. Love your creativity!
🙏
Wow, truly stunning imagery. Thank you so much. This is exactly the type of video I love. The before and after with explanation of settings really helps close the disconnect between how my "properly exposed" (aka boring) looking pics look and how other photographers are able to create such impressive dramatic art. Please continue these videos. You are awesome
You’re most welcome! Glad you enjoyed the video, there’s more in the channel :)
Loved the photos. I think it may be the best video on the subject I've seen so far. Good job. Plus: I'm really impressed with the light control in the video recording; so many photographers (who shoot amazing pictures) have weird lighting in their video narrations - you're in full control of it. Wonderful.
I've never seen a guy so creative wow
This is, by far, the most understandable off-camera flash video I’ve seen. Thank you!!!
You’re welcome
I just learned more from you in 19 mins...2 years of trying to get simple explanations ...Much respect and more like this please..
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you again, I watch this over and over again to improve my off camera flash improvements
You’re welcome
Thank you for this. After watching tons of videos and spent money on tutorials, this is by far the best, and easy to understand, breakdown of flash photography. Thank you!!
Glad you enjoyed it
Possibly the best UA-cam video on the subject
You really know your stuff. Love the way you show the original shot, then explain IN detail your setting of camera and flash. And your post work is just amazing. I’d like to see some editing videos.
Check this video out: ua-cam.com/video/LDClqbBL9vg/v-deo.html and be surprised on how little post processing is done
Love your photos, and tutorial. Thank you.
This is amazingly put together👌🏼 Thank you for sharing your knowledge and tips 🙏🏼
Awesome! You’re great at breaking the essentials and sharing recipes - thanks !
I just bought my first flash and this has shown me so much
Your timeline around 1120 you mentioned your assistant took the picture, and you preferred your pic. I Myself choose his as it more of non common photo, and you can crop in if needed. Your chosen pic doesn't really set a tone other than just a standard picture, with the shadows directly behind them. However both images are cool. Thanks for your provided info.
This video clearly explained about flash photography. You are a good teacher.
Wide range of examples and love the BTS on each shot and settings overlaid. Very useful
The best tutorial I've seen on OCF. Thanks!
The best tutorial
This was amazing to watch. I am finally ready to attempt off-camera flash use.
VERY useful! Now that you explained that the shutter speed controls the ambient light, & the aperture controls the flash, I bet I will have more successful off-camera flash images, & will also succeed with experimental ideas. Also helpful: all the properly exposed vs flash examples. Thank you for this video! Salute!
wow ! just wow!
Thanks
Many thanks for making this tutorial, it covers all important topics I have learnt over a period of time. This will be my go to video when I need a quick refresh of concepts related to OCF photography.

Thanks
Thanks a lot bro 🤠😎! Very accurate information!
Your work is excellent. Thanks for the video.
Thank you and you’re welcome
Thank you. Your videos are super-informative and clear, and your images are totally inspiring. Have you considered putting your advice and images into a book (and/or ePub)? The images in videos are fleeting. Being able to pore over them plus see how you took them is great for people like me still figuring out what we might be able to do in our local environment (great but hard to match those majestic vistas of the Philippines).
Perfect video, amazing photos!
Thanks :)
What a phenomenal video!

Glad you’re enjoying :)
King 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
Your work is amazing, I particularly like it a lot, you could make a video explaining more about the issue of exposure compensation, how to calculate how many points I should underexpose or overexpose the image, also if it's not asking too much to talk about the flashmeter, no I know if you use it, but yes, it could give you tips on how to use it in order to get interesting results other than the simple fact of zeroing the photometry.
Very informative. Thanks for sharing Jiggie! Stay safe!
You’re welcome
Beautiful Creative Portraits
