THANK YOU for making this exactly what the title said! No unboxing nonsense, not a review of your portfolio, no ad in the middle, etc. Absolutely perfect for what I needed, and that gets you a subscription!
I just want to say that this is the best explanation video I have every seen on any product ever. Doesnt waste time and go straight to the point. Thank you very much. Liked.
So this is a lifesaver. Thought I could figure out all the functions of my new flash by bumbling through as usual but was struggling … this video is beyond helpful, thanks much!
a black friday purchase from adorama. thank you for the effort and the sharing. i am an appreciative subscriber. now all i need is to figure out how best to use the AD200! thumbs up.
Hey. How long it took you to get the hang of it? Do you feel like the strobe has improved the quality of your work since you got it? I'm about to order mine, so excited.
Thank you! This is very informative and helpful...I accidentally reset the flash to factory settings and couldn't figure out what I needed to do. Turns out I needed to go into F7 and set an ID function.
Thank you for the in-depth user guide of AD200 pro. I just bought the V1 pro and the AD200 pro. If I use V1 pro as master and Ad200 as a slave, with CHannel, group and ID matching I can only connect in Manual mode. In TTL they don't sync. I would appreciate if you can give me an insight of what I am doing wrong setting-wise. Thank you in advance. Subscribed and liked already !!
Hi Robert, thanks for the useful video. I just got my AD200 Pro and started to figure it out with your video. You are mentioning that you made a dedicated video for F5 in the menu, I had a look at your channel but I didn't understand which video is it. Can you share its link please? Thanks in advance.
Hi Robert, thanks for these instructional videoes that are always inspirational. Among other ones they led me to buying the Godox AD200 Pro recently, even if I already had 2 Godox V860iii speedlights. Now, what you do not cover in this video, and what I fear is an undocumented feature, I discovered this by accident. And it has to do with the color stability or color temperature mode (C). Even with that turned off in F8, try this... Put the unit in M mode and long press the Set button. The display changes and shows 2 numbers on top of each other and the (C) symbol turns on. My unit shows "330"on top and "0000" below that. Turning the dial increases/decreases the below number which actually seems to range 0010-5600. So to me that sounds °K... The mode button and the Gr/Ch button increase respectively decrease the top number which ranges from "100" to "330". Which doesn't ring a bell at all. In order not to mess anything up I simply reset the unit to factory settings. Also, turning the unit off and on again makes these numbers disappear. However, the unit still has C.Fn 8 turned on ! Do you have any idea what these settings are all about ? So far I cannot find any relevant info. Anyway, keep this magnificent channel up and running ! Regards, Frank
Hey Frank, definitely never heard of this - although not surprised as I just learned about a secret, undocumented feature on another Godox product. All my AD200's are in the studio, so I'll check it out next time I'm in there.
so upgrading from AD200 to the pro one is not that necessary right? even u dont use the color stability mode. I mean to correct color is achievable by using RAW format right?
I stated my piece on that in my review of the ad200 pro. Color stability isn't really about whether or not you can fix it in raw. It's about having more consistency between shots to reduce adjustments image to image, resulting in faster processing time for large volumes of images, such as people who shoot products or e-commerce clothing. It's about having lower variance between multiple lights, something you can't fix globally in raw and would require time-crushing masking to adjust. There's no single answer to whether it's worth it or not, as the impact of the improvements will be felt differently depending on the photographer.
What would I do without you, Rob? Thanks! Question please: Can I change the flash increment from .1 stops to .3? I feel like it's easier to align/makes changes to match with my camera when changing exposure? Like if I change camera exposure in 1/3 stops I want the flash clicks up and down to be the same #? Make sense? What do you think of this idea, does it matter?
Good video bro.Can u help to make a video on how to activate hypersync mode and show us which trigger to use and how to set the trigger for hypersync mode.I am having problem to understand how to use it.Thx
Thanks so much for the Vid, very appreciated. Got a question for ya: I’m using a 200ADPro & XproC. I’m often off camera, remotely hand holding 200ADPro & remote triggering the camera -using a remote-, however I’ve found the XproC will override any setting I have on the 200ADPro. Is there anyway to stop this so the Xpro will simply trigger the flash & not override it’s settings? (Currently the only workaround I’ve found is to put the Xpro in APP mode (and not use the app) - but this seems a bit backwards? Is there a better or proper way to do this?) Thanks heaps.
Would like to know the answer for this too. From what i know of godox system, if u change the setting on the remote trigger, it will override on the light itself. So the best is change your power setting on the remote instead of on the light
This was great and really helpful for me to understand the functions but I am still no closer to understanding how to connect the ad200 pro to my Canon m50. Any ideas? The instruction manual has me totally lost...
Unless you were using some type of physical sync cable, you don't connect the AD200 to your camera. The AD200 is controlled and fired by a transmitter, which connects to your camera via the hotshoe.
@@robhallphoto got it! Thanks so much. I discovered this after posting the above. It all makes sense now. I usually do my research thoroughly with this kind of thing, but I think I was a little too eager on this occasion.
Thanks When I trigger the flash using X2T trigger the Flash works but the light stays on, Any setting to turn this continuous light off (post triggering flash)
Hi Robert, another superb video. Any idea what the 2 lines of numbers are when you long press the Set button, mine display Cannel A 0300 and 0020 . Can't find any reference in the manuals, the only entry on the internet is guessing at a reduced power level, does not seem likely
Amit Hazra waiting roo, I only own the ad200pro and ad400pro, I wish I knew the ad300 was coming cause I would’ve gone with that one instead of the 400
@@iransirijillo Just curious, is that because you're unhappy with the 400, or do you think the 300 suits your needs better? The 400 looked to me like the sweet spot, but interested to hear otherwise!
Excellent. This was very helpful. A general question for Robert, or anyone else who might know: When using this flash in combination with gels, is the temperature set by the gel and held at that level, or can it vary in the same way a bare bulb might vary. Thanks again for the video and any feedback....
When I press "set" button for 2 seconds, I enter mode which isn't explained anywhere in manual. Some numbers show on screen, but I don't know what they mean. Do you know how to explain it? I noticed that in this mode flash can fire at lower power than even 1/256 in normal mode.
My flash is sometimes blinking the stand by button continuously and beeping. There is no troubleshooting in the manual. It stops when I press the button but can start again after a while. Do you know what this is?
I really enjoyed most of this video, it gave lots of info in a short period of time and it was well executed. However, when you were explaining menu item F8 (color stable mode) I couldn't tell if you were saying the color is better with it on or off. At one point you said "with stable color mode on will decrease the range of colors that this flash produces." Then you went on to say "so the light is a lot more accurate with stable color mode on." Can you please explain? Thank you
Does it function as a flash with the AD200? Yes. Is it brighter than the fresnel? No. The fresnel focuses light into a more narrow beam and that smaller area would be brighter than the round head’s larger/more even area.
Hi Robert, thanks very much for the helpful guide. I recently got an AD200Pro. On my flash I can see the test button on the back keeps flashing in red quite often. What does this mean? Also if I turn on the beep, it keeps beeping for as long as the led is flashing. I went through the manual, but didn't find anything.
THANK YOU for making this exactly what the title said! No unboxing nonsense, not a review of your portfolio, no ad in the middle, etc. Absolutely perfect for what I needed, and that gets you a subscription!

Great overview. Very detailed while being easily understandable.

I've resisted these for a while, but it's time to pull the trigger. I'm thinking of a two-head kit with one or two extension cables.
Very straightforward tutorial for beginners like me!

Can you pls do a godox beauty dish comparison? BDR 55 & 55 Pro?
Almost no info about them in UA-cam
I'd love to know more about the pros and cons of the stable color mode...
Pros : kelvin temp is more consistent between various power levels
Cons : flash durations get longer
That's all that changes.
@@robhallphoto If flash durations get longer, does this affect power in HSS?
@@goratnik337 There are no flash durations when in HSS, so this can't affect power in HSS.
