This is an excellent video. I'm needing to go on this medication for a serious life trauma but this video gives me hope for it to work and be able to get off eventually.
Venlafaxine increased my blood pressure, I never had any problems with that, I feel pain on the side of my head just above the eye, a little dizziness, chills, the cardiologist confirmed to me that it is because of the medication, and that it is strong, it can even speed up the heart. I informed the psychiatrist and I'm going to suspend it, he asked me to go down from 150mg to 75mg for 1 month, and then suspend it
It’s crazy how videos like this aren’t seen until people actually go through and get the symptoms. All of this realness is WAY TOO ACCURATE. The serotonin and norepinephrine plunge are so bad. I’ve been ripped off 150mg all at once in March and the VA refused to refill my prescription. The side effects I’m going through right now are terrible/unbearable
Hey, hope you see this and respond, but i just started Adderall XR last month, and Venlafaxine this week. Did you experience any issues when taking both medications? And are you still taking both?
@@johnstewart3190never taken anything aside from the Effexor. Bro be careful because it’s a great SNRI, meaning that when it’s discontinued it’s NOT great. Its a vicious balance of life. Very very dangerous drug. Words can’t explain what discontinuation from this SNRI does to someone
YEAAAH - all i saw before were "yay increase iq" and "yay u feel better (guaranteed irregarldess of better/worse state)" etc but never "permanent brain damage"
I'm so sorry.....my daughter was put on 6 weeks or so ago, and I'm in the process of weaning her off as slowly as I can before she's on it and longer. I wish I'd done it sooner....
I feel like it has affected my brain after nearly 3 years on it and Adderall. My memory and organization are worse than ever. The Dr told me short term but then she retired and my current Dr upped the dose.
I've been on this for a little over 10 years. I'd love to try to come off it but my job requires focus and attention. I would need weeks or longer to come off. Scary for sure.....any advice on homeopathic approaches? Is there any hope? I feel like total hell if I delay or miss a dose. Thanks for the video!
Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience. I love this channel and really appreciate how clearly you explain everything. I've learned so much from your videos.
Ive been on effexor for about twenty years i asked my doctor to help me off of it not only he refused but told me to change doctors if i wanted to go off of it now I know why i guess im on it for life
Daughter took for over 20 years can’t get off of it started at age 21 is now 42 dr added more meds got off those think can never get off effecvor ever 😢
I have been on this medicin for 15 yr and have try to come of it 3 times with very slow tapering, im on it still. This medicine is very addicted. Do someone have withdrawal with some natural supplement? Cbd oil? Or something else?
Thank you for your hard work and studying of this demon they left me on at 300mg a day for 7yrs. I have stopped. Dr appointment tomorrow that I canceled this demon is beatable
It worked for me it helped me get off Effexor from 225 mg to 0 in a span of 2 month I was on Effexor for 1 year ... that year was the worst of my life!
Agree. Tried it some years ago and I had a terrible experience. I remember being sat in traffic shaking all over feeling extremely anxious and highly emotional. Ended up going back on Venlafaxine. I felt so out of control and my heart was thumping in my chest. My brain was highly over stimulated over little things. I couldn't stop crying and I regretted everything in my life. All my past decisions, I felt out of control.
I’m experiencing horrible vision problems like light sensitivity and fosters. I was on 300mg for about 3 years. I’ve been off for 3 months and still have vision problems. What should I do :/
Wait ! I’m sorry did you just say this drug is like being on cocaine? Holy crap 😮 Umm I am a recovering cocaine addict 14 years clean and sober the last thing I need is a drug that mimics cocaine 😮Yikes I just took my first pill but I don’t feel high that’s for sure ! My doctor prescribed this medication because I’ve lost my mother my two brothers all within 3 years so I’ve been a little depressed oh and she said it will work on hot flashes 😮 Since I’m complaining of those too lol Not sure this will be the right medication for me ? 😳 The last thing I need is an addictive drug ! 😮
Don’t take this med.. just don’t.. my body is completely depends on it now and I will have to be tapering off for 2+ years because of withdrawals. My body needs this drug… withdrawals for me have been similar to what I can only imagine is heroin withdrawals. This drug is my life now…
@@sadcatsclub8949 Omg 😳 You poor thing ya no i decided not to take it ! I’d much rather be a little hot and not so happy than be addicted to something else ! I’m good lol Thanks for your honest opinion! Good luck on tapering off this stuff !
I’ve been on Effexor HCL ER 150mg/day for almost a year now for complex PTSD and racing thoughts. It has helped. However I just started noticing in the past few mths a few “tics” that have started. Very restless and unable to sit still. Constant moving of my feet and legs when sitting. Holding my legs straight out and crossed for long periods of time when sitting. Vision has gotten worse and very light sensitive. Unable to lay still when trying to go to sleep. Rocking my whole body. And the worst one yet…skin picking!!! My arms and legs look like a druggy and I’m so embarrassed!! I had no idea these were side effects from my meds!! I just thought it was my nerves bc my 37yo son is living with schizophrenia and I’m his sole caregiver during the week bc his dad works out of state. Out of curiosity I decided to just check and see if Effexor could be causing this. And lo and behold it does! I’m at a loss. It helps my brain but if it’s causing all these other issues I don’t want to take it anymore!! Just deal with my c-ptsd without any help from big pharma!! Instead, I believe I’m going to try cannabis. Which I find hilarious at my age. But hey, at least the only side effects from it are munchies and sleep. Which are both something I need more of these days!! Thank you for sharing all this very important information!! Wish dr’s would do the same!!
Ive experienced everything you mentioned, and weight gain. I also take care of my disabled son, and was wondering if it was related to all the stress but no, it was the Effexor. Im so glad I stopped taking it this past December. I’m still twitching, dealing still with weight gain, headaches and body aches even a month after! Im thankful that the scab picking, and constant moving of my legs while sitting has stopped.
I just finished weaning off from 300 mg and I’m also in MA school and learning my last mod in venipuncture and I’m always sweating during tests, when I wake up and when I’m out of the shower. I’ve noticed that I’m more anxious and can’t stay quite during class and interrupting others. My pain specialist told me to stick to cbd and thc. The VA isn’t going to be happy about that. My psychiatrist recommended me not to get off. I going to take a break.
@@tanyi003Yes its amazing I'm in Texas as is and Dr's think Marijuana is so dangerous like it's the only thing that helps but whatever I'll take your fake speed give it too me f it .

Prozac (fluoxetine) is not associated with weight gain 👎
Prozac causes significant weight gain
