- Happy New Year guys! I know we’ve been out of it for a little bit but now we’re back and we’ve been working hard to get you what you need for your HEMI swap. This video talks about why the 2003 and 2004 harnesses are really just outdated paper weights. We don’t like to work on them for many reasons and it’s best to go with a newer style for tunability and pure simplicity. You can upgrade to any of the 2005-2008 ECM and Harness but the 2005 ECM is the best one for tunability. Any 2005-2008 harness and ECM should work together so you SHOULD be able to mix and match. Be careful, when you order our QuickHemi harness that you give us the Year and Model of the HARNESS, if it is different than the engine. Join us as we talk about other options to upgrade your harness setup. NOT ONLY THAT! We are starting to ship out some first runs of our QUICKHEMI harnesses! Yes these are plug and play into your old harness and is MUCH CHEAPER than the competition and gets your HEMI swap vehicle running right! Of course you know Blake and the gang at DIYHEMI will always have your back on providing the best support to get you running right. Thanks for your SUPPORT IN US! Our goal is to help you with putting a hemi engine in whatever you decide. Hit us up to see if we can help. We even make parts to help with your swap! Great video, and beautiful Belvedere! I'm honored to have a spot on the wall of fame inside the DIYHEMI shop! Thank you!
Good job guys..
great infomation keep up the great content..
So please let me know when you want to use my 65' Coronet 500 for a donor build. That, of course, would be you donating the engine, accessories, computers, time and everything else. My end would be bringing you my car and picking it up when you are done making videos. lol.....
That's how it works, right!!! ;) Love your videos. Keep them coming and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!
Steve, We're going to have to think about this for a bit. LOL. Thanks for the love! Happy New Year! Goodbye 2020..
God bless you guys for making our lives easier
Thanks for the good words! Hemi swap the World!
Nice. Wiring is a challenge to alot of people.
Looking good. I would like to put a new Hemi in my 72 450 SL Mercedes . Gonna fix a lot of rust pull the engine and transmission. Then see if it will fit. I couldn't even try without your information and the harness you make. Thanks.
I need to swap my 03 hemi ram to the 05 pcm & harness asap!
Very nice, that looks like a easy set up. I'm one of those guys that wiring is not my strong point.
Perhaps, but you are one hell of a machinist!
Wish you guys lived close to me,,, I’d let you do my 97 van
I have an 03 truck hemi and I want to build the motor up a bit need an 05 pcm while keeping everything running as it should in the cab
If the engine wiring harness is damaged from heat it will cause a short possibly and not run correctly. I recommend using some heat shielding tape and sleaveing over the engine wire harness wire tubing and wires.
We always try to route it similar to factory and away from the exhaust areas. Good point if you are close to high heat. We make sure we use high heat rates components on our harnesses as well so they are good for over 200F
I can’t wait until y’all have something for the 09 5.7 hemi so I can get it swapped into my truck
08 Hemi from a truck or car?
I have an 03 that's superbly low on torque. R u saying I can swap to 05 with the 05 harness ecu tb and temp sensor? I have the 05 ecu already and green plug to repin the differences .. was gonna go that route at first. Nice vid tx!
Hmmmmmm might try to run one of these in 2000s model vehicle
Thank you for the video any updated on the 1988 ram.have a good day
Thanks Chad! We are pulling the old motor and tranny tomorrow! and setting the hemi in it to see clearance and get motor mounts fabbed!
@@SUBLIMEparts i want to swap the 8 speed trackhawk zf8hp gearbox with an ls in my e36
I have my ls running but the gearbox tcu and harness how should i do that?
I have an 04 truck 5.7 going into a 1958 Chrysler 300D. Are there real concerns about dropping the valve seat? If I uses the 545 trans, do Ihave to worry about all the inputs that the pickup had? Thanks.
Could I use this wiring harness on an 05 jeep GC with a 5.7 hemi? Its a basket case after an engine install and will not get out of limp mode. I know its a ground somewhere or something stupid. But I am ready to sell it or try a stand alone wire harness.
How do I go about getting a new harness for my 06 charger
Would you recommend a harness swap on a SRT8 Magnum with electrical problems?
I have a 5.7 hemi that I’m building and a 2020 hellcat harness, can I modify the harness to work with this and the unlocked pcm you guys sell?
So I don't have to flash my ECu to run this? Like do I have to worrie about The stock keys and stuff like that ?
Just finished watching video using 2005 stock engine and 545rfe auto transmission plug and play harness, looks great ...
I am using stock 2005 5.7 and 545rfe auto transmission into a 2002 Dakota 2wd and the electronic throttle pedal.
I have a factory new 2005 5.7 harness for engine and transmission. Do you have a plug and play harness for this
application. The Dakota has RWAL brake system and trailer tow package. Will a second brake WSS be needed with
your harness? Any help or advice would be helpful.
As long as you use a comparable brake switch, you should be good to go integrating the trailer brake
Could you send me pricing on a unit , Blake . Thanks Buddy ! Love the Info and Videos Sir ..
Check out our website for what we offer. If you have any questions you can contact us there or at support@diyhemi.com if you have any questions on your swap. Thanks!
Nice will this work for getting a hemi running in a older gm car or truck 70,80’s
For sure it will. We swap these into MANY older vehicles. This one was a 66 Belvedere. Also we are doing a swap on a 88 d150. Check out the build on our channel. Low buck Hemi truck!
Will this harness work with the 08 dodge charger with the hemi
How do get around the security in the factory 08 dodge charger pcm/ecm
I can buy the complete donor car so I will have everything wiring wise
We have a different harness for the 08 charger Hemi www.diyhemi.com/product-page/05-08-car-quickhemi-harness
We calibrate and sell ECM’s that have security deactivated to run stand alone
What year, and model harness are you guys gonna run on the 2006 jeep commander hemi in the d150? Are you gonna use the commander pcm, or a 05 truck pcm?
Everything from the 06 commander. We already tuned the ECM and made a QuickHemi harness for it 😎
@@SUBLIMEparts what's the c130 plug on the commander harness? It dosent have one like the ram's.
@@claytonhaske no it doesn’t, it has a black and red body connector
@@SUBLIMEparts thanks guys!!!
Hi, I have an 06 5.7. Concerning the valve seat drop I’ve installed a 180 Tstat with a tuner the fans now come on 25 degrees sooner and MDS is off for consistently even head temperatures. It just turned 100k miles. Can you give me an opinion as to my need to be concerned of this issue? Also we’re these engines made in different plants and that maybe the ones that do drop valves all came from the same plant? Any guesses? Thanks
.
Nah, with the new thermostat you should be fine. We’ve seen these things with over 200k still trucking
I have a 2000 Dodge sport 4 x 4 Will a 5.7 bolt to my transmission
It should
currently trying to upgrade my 03 pcm to an 05… so getting the quickhemi 05 harness is plug in play to the 05 pcm? @10:12 where you connected the body connector, is that needed to be swapped out also or its a plug in play with the 03 as well?
That needs to be swapped out to connect to our QuickHemi harness. We call that section the engine harness. Our QuickHemi connects to the engine harness and PCM. The engine harness also connects to the PCM (PCM has 3-4 connectors, some from the engine harness and some from our QuickHemi harness). We make different style QuickHemi harnesses depending on which engine you have, it changes by years AND vehicle type (car or truck)
I found an 05 Durango with 130k “non operational” 5.7 motor. I can get the entire vehicle for $500. My concern is the 5.7 oil issues. If that’s why it’s not running can it be rebuilt?
Yes it can be rebuilt
Why is the 05 harness different on the website but in the video you say they are the same? And online it says you don’t do the 05 crate ecm what’s the difference in 05 to 06 and can I tune the 05?
05 trucks were last of the PCI communication. Went to Canbus after that. You can tune but it is limited compared to 06 up
Blake will this work on my 2003 trk hemi , Im putting in 87 trk ?
Sure will
Could I email or text you about a 2013 Hyundai genesis coupe 3.8 rspec that I would like to hemi swap. I believe I understand how the harness you have here would work for what I am thinking about doing but I would like to ask a few questions and get my head wrapped around how it would all work.
Hell yes. We will help where we can! HSTW!
@@SUBLIMEparts do you know if my stock genesis 6 speed transmission would mount up to the hemi? Or is there an adapter that would work? I would like to keep the drive train stock
@@terrysmith4279 we aren’t sure . What 6 speed transmission did those cars come with? Tremec?
@@SUBLIMEparts after doing some research (2013 3.8) has m6vr2 manual transmission. Alot of people on line complaining about gears hard to shift and grinding issues. I dont have any of these problems at all. But to keep from making new mounts and getting new drive shaft and new slave cylinder setup I would like to use the stock m6vr2 behind a 5.7 hemi. That's the first issue I am worried about with the swap
@@SUBLIMEparts I am a dodge lover. (Fan boy) and every has done ls swap on these cars all over UA-cam but NO ONE has done a hemi swap that I know. I would love to be the first.
I'm good with wiring. Wiring is not good with me.
