only wet your hair when you are scissor cutting, the hair should be dry when using a clipper.

I've been cutting my own hair since I was 19, I'm now 54... I liked the method you used. I am X-Army, so the style I am now trying to go for is longer than my usual very close crop cut, much like the style George Clooney cuts... Without the gray! LOL
But now, I want to go for the slightly longer, stylish cut Like the guy's hair here. Thank you very much for the guide. I can see the parting on the side, and cutting on the opposite side helps give a natural layering effect. I liked that technique.
One further question though. I see a lot of professionals use regular scissors to cut horizontally through the hair they put between their finger. I am assuming this is a shorter cutting version of what the "sheer" scissors do for thinning or cropping. Is that correct?? If so, I can just use the sheering scissors at multiple cut lengths to gain the depth and blend I want.. Correct?

I did this and everything was pretty easy up until cutting the top, that was confusing to do.
Ended up with more of a crew cut kinda hairdo, but it still looks pretty good for my first time :D

Could you point the camera to the mirror. ( showing his reflection) so we can see his face because that's what we see when we cut our own hair ... just a tip? Let me specify for this is regarding the last clip cutting the top section

but theres a little problem by doing it by onesself... you have two scissors for each side right? because youre cutting with each hand depending on the side of your hand and that didnt worked rly well with the one scissor my boyfriend got... 🤷🏼♂️right handed scissors on left side is a little tricky 😅
