There was already a tough female character who fought evil alongside Indiana Jones in his stories. Her name is Marion Ravenwood and all the fans love her!
Yeah no, she sucked, she was just one of the many Bond, I mean Indy girls. Things already went wrong with that character in Crystal Skull, utterly pointless and terrible movie as well.
Nooo. It's progressivist snarkiness. The destruction of our favorite characters is an excercise in power to show how "godlike" they are. Oh you like Indiana Jones a strong confident capable man? Oh you love intelligent, charismatic, competent Captain Picard? We'll destroy them and there's nothing you can do about it. They have nothing going for them and they know it. Misery loves company. That's it.
As much as it hurts to see my beloved childhood heroes desecrated by this wretched harpy, hearing Speilberg say out loud that Kennedy was an incompetent twit brings a slight smile to my face.
Unfortunately this isn't a phenomenon restricted to the world of cinema. I work in live theatre which is full of talentless hangers on who think that just because they were in the room when the grown ups were talking qualifies them to run the show. Kennedy is definitely in that category.
I used to work in a healthcare facility where a new director was brought in and he replaced all the department heads with his friends who were all completely incompetent. The facility was suddenly being run into the ground and we had no way to make things better so people started leaving. It was a nightmare. This kind of crap happens in every industry. You realize that people at the top of the ladders are usually completely useless and do far more damage then they are worth. Warren Buffet once said that he never understood why CEOs are paid what they are because they either have a slightly positive impact on a company or a very negative impact. Very few were ever actually worth their salary, there’s one Steve Jobs to every 10k Kathleen Kennedys
Kathleen Kennedy did this on purpose! Imagine the hatred needed to spend 10 years destroying two of the most beloved franchises of all time. She is insane.
Somebody -- a board? -- had to overrule the direction she has gone in: killing off male franchise figures to replace them with female figures. There has to be a better way to continue stories and sustain franchises, surely?
They are NOT giving all they can, and they aren't trying to cater to fans or continue a beloved series. They, like all media, are not genuine anymore, this is just another pricey virtue signaling propaganda piece. White man bad, masculine man bad, masculine woman good, independent woman good, minorities good, whites bad, Nazis bad. Consume new product, be excited for next product, say byebye old ways, spry new woman is in town, yass queen. They don't even care about profits, they have merch, and even if that doesn't work to make up the cost, they checked every esg score box well and will still get big funding and approval from blackrock and other conglomerations that don't allow anything that sends "the message" to fail. It's meant to demoralize those who don't loyally eat up everything their favorite corporation dumps out, and those who don't align with "the message".
i went to this movie with my son. Halfway the movie my son asked to go home, he hated it that much. He actually didn't relate to any caracter. We were maybe 10 spectators in the theatre.
Top Gun 2, while fun, was a rehashing, just like the rest of the current garbage. No surprise asian films have been winning best pictures lately. They are different than the same old Hollywood tripe.
Holy s*** that recording of Spielberg complaining about Kathleen Kennedy is absolutely brutal. I had never heard that before. It's damning proof of how much of a egotistical fembot she was even back then, sitting in a room with arguably two of the most successful filmmakers of all time.
@@martinh1309I don't think he knew just how evil she truly was considering that she was still just a producer when he appointed her as president. But as soon as she got a wiff of power, she showed him and the world her true colors.
It is not a vacancy at Bud Light, as it was just an extended break so no permanent vacancy there, just a sabbatical for the VP that lost billions of dollars but look at a woman wrong as a man and pack up your stuff and don't come back.
I wish I had the level of job security that Kathleen Kennedy has. She is like a super hero and her power is never getting fired no matter how much money she loses.
Iam pretty sure if Kathleen Kenedy was a dude she would have been fired a long time ago, but its modern Hollywood so am not surprised she still has a high value job even after so much stupidity.
@butterchurn8819 her superpower is castration, Turning Indiana Jones into Indianapolis Jones. Like Joaquin Phoenix Joker 🙏 please applaud, 🙏 😢 😭 😫 if not, then for my mental health sakes, ha ha ha 😂
Until you realize this is a psyop and they aren’t making they’re money from the market. They are making it from the powers that be. They are making it from some government entity and they get their money from us. So they are getting paid regardless and the deal was that we should be entertained for our trouble, not lectured and shamed and demoralized. Don’t watch this garbage EVER.
I find it interesting that Hollywood treats old characters exactly the opposite of what Japan does with its manga and anime. In Hollywood almost all old characters are fragile, demented, old farts that need to go away for the new more smart and awesome generation, while in Japan old characters usually are the most badasses of all.
I believe their entire mission is to destroy any and all franchises that are beloved by primarily male fan bases. But they are only destroying themselves in the process. Someday, all will be reclaimed by actual fans.
As someone who grew up in the 70s and 80s I absolutely loved these franchises in a way that most younger people may not fully comprehend. You have to understand that back then we didn’t have internet or cellphones, and only had four or five TV channels. This isn’t a dig on today’s generation, but we generally had to rely on our imaginations. On cold, snowy days, I would pretend I was Han Solo on Hoth. In the Summer, my bicycle became a ROTJ speeder-bike. Cardboard Christmas paper rolls became lightsabers. An old cord became a bullwhip. Etc etc. It’s hard to overstate the emotional bond some of us had with these characters. Pajamas, curtains, lunchboxes…. We ate, lived, and breathed Star Wars and Indiana Jones. I say all of this to emphasize just how personally some of us are taking her treatment of our childhood heroes. It’s like a personal insult. I understand that Harrison is aging and needs to retire from these roles, but the INDIGNITY that she is putting them through, all apparently for the sake of her woke ideology, is infuriating. I also grew up watching great Disney shows like The Cat from Outer Space, Escape from Witch Mountain, Dragonslayer, etc. as well as many hand-me-down comics and books from the golden classic era, featuring Mickey, Donald, and the rest. Disney didn’t suck. They produced outstanding, family-friendly classics, and they set the gold-standard for high production-values and entertaining movies. Now they have sunk so low and milked their franchises so utterly that many hardcore comic/super hero and Star Wars fans aren’t even watching half of the crap that they are putting out. (I’ll probably never finish Andor or some of the last Marvel series shows). It’s disgusting and sad.
As a 46 year old, this resonates with me massively. Those of us who were lucky enough to grow up in the 1980s developed a huge 'bond' with characters like Han, Luke, Leia, Indy, and Willow and to see them mistreated this way is genuinely heartbreaking 😔
I was born in 76 and I deeply felt all that you just said. My grandfather gave me a fedora exactly like Indy's when I was playing Indiana jones in their backyard and I wore it constantly, that was around the time of Temple of Doom. I've learned as many others have to simply not give these people my money. It's the only way to stop this shit and it seems to finally be catching on. I'm glad we still have all our old beloved Star wars and Indy films to watch so screw the new agenda driven garbage.
I love the face KK makes on the John Williams celebration clip. You can FEEL her seething over how, even after making Lucasfilm hers, she still doesn't have any worth in culture, she knows she's just a parasite and doesn't belong there, and she hates it. Feels good man EDIT: Holy shit this post blew up, glad to see others enjoyed her seething as much as I did XD
@@samuelmyth8392 Have you seen her face after the calling for John Williams? That smile is so forced, you can see the teeth being clenched, she's clearly repressing something in that clip
Crystal Skull was never that bad, same with the Star Wars prequel trilogy. But for sure they're masterpieces next to KK's endless BS she's throwing at everyone.
It is deeper than people realize. It’s part of an Illuminati plot to have all sections of society pissed and at odds with each other. Did you think the writers strike was a coincidence?
A Skywalker would never surrender. Jedis would never give up. Luke was the real chosen one and the peoples champion. He’s everything anakin would have been. Rip star wars go to hell kk. Skywalkers can only rise and overcome hence the name, otherwise all jedis would gladly lay down their lives to protect the force. AS PER THE LORE fkn idiots
I didn't know it at the time but the 90s was the last golden age of cinema - Goodfellas, Misery, Schindler's List, Heat, Seven, Groundhog Day, The Usual Suspects, Boogie Nights, Carlito's Way, Shawshank Redemption, Fargo, Pulp Fiction...an almost endless list of brilliant films. So glad I experienced it - so sad that quality of film-making has disappeared. No wonder cinemas are struggling today.
That little behind-the-scenes recording of Spielberg laying into Kennedy as being a talentless hack who didn't do the job she was hired for, writing down notes on ideas during brainstorming sessions, but instead butting in mid-sentence with her own garbage takes, is quite the epiphany-inducing revelation of why she should have never been allowed anywhere near the creative process.
Indeed...but as with most powerhungry despots..they know better then anyone..and take no prisoners... won't be talked back to...why is this woman still a thing.... can't she just go away?
Exactly, and that makes me think she might be blackmailing them.... Who knows with what if this is the case. There has to be something going on so she could climb so high....
Disney / Lucasfilm have actually achieved something - they’ve made us immune to feeling any excitement for a new film based on classic IP - Star Wars, Indy, Willow, Pixar animation, Marvel, … You have to be really commercially ignorant to do that. Thank goodness for Tom Cruise and Super Mario!
I have almost entirely stopped watching modern movies and when I heard that Top Gun: Maverick was good I refused to believe it. When I finally did see it I was so stunned that I nearly shed some tears of joy and I genuinely think it's better than the original.
@@nkw1985 It's crazy that these companies can't even understand how to make a good movie anymore. Even worse is that Top Gun actually conveyed the messaging these newer movies spend the whole time cramming down our throats. It had diversity, everybody at the academy was on equal grounds and it didn't have any 'I'm better than you because of my gender/race' bs... How to normalize things? Act as if it IS NORMAL... That's how good "strong female characters" actually work, they act as if it's normal. The more time you spend talking/complaining about how people like you aren't in these positions (ironically while being in that position) or how you'll never get this/that opportunity, then all your doing is continuing the stereotype that people like you can't be in those positions or ever get that opportunity so don't even bother trying.... Also, it's almost comical at this point that the only solution hollywood/liberals have to all these problems is to just subject someone else to the same thing they claim IS the problem (i.e no more damsel in distress, instead man in distress. No more discriminating people based on being black/women, instead discriminate against people based on being white/man. And so on and so on)
I find it crazy that the writers never realized how Helena Shaw is the antithesis of Indiana Jones. She is just like every other enemy he fought in the previous movies.
You’re giving modern writers to much credit, they were trained that the politics out weighs the story. I would be shocked if most Hollywood writers even learned about storytelling before starting their jobs.
To see Kathleen Kennedy snubbed on stage (rightfully so) warms my heart and gives me just the barest glimmer of hope. Also, at 1:58, with KK sitting there like that, am I the only one that thought of Jabba the Hutt? Why does Harrison Ford keep returning to allow his beloved characters to end like this? Does he hate them that much? He doesn't need the money. I wish more actors would pull a Henry Cavill and tell them to eff off and walk away. That sends a pretty clear message. Unless, of course, the actors are drinking from the same Kool-Aid. Is Harrison Ford drinking from the same Kool-Aid?
Man! Kathleen was hurt because her bad ideas were constantly rejected. That too by legends like Steven Speilberg, George Lucas and the likes. So she decides to lick their boots, keep getting promoted and eventually destroys the monumental franchises established by these men. Talk about 'a women scorned' and her ego. This is toxic feminism 101.
And Jar Jar Lucas actually put that chipmunk faced hag in charge of his studio! In classic "patriarchal" fashion I blame him more than her for the destruction of his own IP's. He literally "diversity hired" her and these are the affirmative action results of choosing nepotism over merit.
Ironic that the creator doesn't like these terrible feminist movies, but he thinks the CCP is involved in some conspiracy to silent movies just because Chinese people don't like movies where they shit on China.
Considering the only reason literally anyone on the face of the earth knows who KK is is because Spielberg and Lucas let her hang around while they created masterpieces, she sure has a high opinion of herself!
The ONLY reason she's in her position in the first place is because of her gender. Gotta fill those quotas in fancy positions somehow, you don't get those DEI/ESG points by luck!! Feminism is all about the top end job anyway, you don't see them whining about too few female sewage workers. Strange isn't it.
The hilarious thing is, it would have been SO easy for her to be a success. Literally all the hard work had been done for her. Multiple beloved franchises, and enough expanded universe material that could have been milked for decades. She could have done basically nothing and been remembered as being a success. There were 1000 paths she should have walked and 999 of them lead to incredible success and billions of profit. She managed to find the 1 path out of 1000 that lead to the destruction of lucasfilm. What an absolute fucking loser she is.
She was just the wife of some wealthy guy that put up $ for all the great movies they cranked out back in the day. That's it. She was married to $ but somehow got added to the 'Producer' title card.
So Kathy was terrible at her job and constantly interrupted with bad ideas, yet Spielberg kept hiring her as a producer? She must really know where Spielberg buried the bodies.
She pretty early got hitched to an influential producer/moneyman, and was no doubt busily cultivating connections with other resentful, talentless midwits.
...which is slightly less believable than Phoebe Waller spaghetti arms knocking out Indiana Jones with one punch, dragging him to the plane, and somhow getting an unconscious man that outweighs her by at least 60 pounds into the plane.

Spielberg's take on Kennedy is amazing. I actually never thought about the idea she isn't evil, she's just not smart or creative but is desperate to prove herself so keeps showing up.
When she suggested that Indy should get the dog instead of getting the girl, that was her way of trying to insert the feminist teachings she loves. Now, we get to see the true deconstruction of the characterizations she opposes. She's a vile beast.
Looking at this story I can't help but recall an old joke from the cold war era: The americans spent 20 years training a perfect spy to infiltrate the soviet Russia. They taught him every aspect of the local culture and he was speaking grammar perfect russian. Then as a final part of the operation they air lifted him to deep Siberia where he begun his mission. Much to his surprise, the first villager he came in contact with asked him if he was a foreigner. The spy was dumbfounded, how could his cover be blown so fast. So he asked the villager: What makes you think I'm a foreigner? The villager responded: We don't see too many black people here in Siberia 🤣

Kathleen Kennedy, while trying to destroy Lucas (she can't because the original movies exist) just proves to the world she was incompetent at everything but fetching coffee.
Couldn’t even keep notes properly. She was probably the sex secretary. Hard to imagine someone who couldn’t do the job they were hired for properly be the lead of a studio.
There have already been attempts to modify classic works of art, and I don't mean remakes, I mean actual changes on old classics. Some of them have been successful on a level of removing Bad Words from new prints of old books etc. If things were allowed to take their course without any resistance, we would some day be in a situation where those original movies would not exist, at least not in the form that they once did. That is essentially what people like Kathleen Kennedy are aiming at. They want to completely hijack the work of others to the point where even the original work becomes theirs.

Hearing Spielberg talk about Kathleen Kennedy supposed to be taking notes, from better story tellers like Spielberg and Lucas, but offering her ideas instead suddenly makes all this clear. Kathleen Kennedy was never supposed to be in a position of power of ideas in franchises. She was a glorified secretary who somehow rose to a position of creative power, and everything she touches fails. Imagine thinking you have better ideas than Spielberg or Lucas? I’ve never heard this sound byte before. But it’s so telling.

I like how they portray their savior girl boss in the same way that Belloc was in the first film. They have a character like that in Spriggan (anime), but it works because her stealing of artifacts for money is shown to be the flaw, of an otherwise quite good-hearted girl. She's one of my favorites from the series, and a proper well-meaning rascal.

Another studio like Lionsgate simply has to offer Depp the role of a different pirate movie, and let Depp have total control of his character, and BOOM it would be like rebooting the pirates franchise as something new and Disney has no say in it. Would be an instant box office hit.
I have never seen a man wear his mood on their face like Harrison has since this movie has been made. Every question he is asked is met with an audible huff and a short/petulant response. RIP Indy, you deserved so much better than what they did to you.
It's now being reported that there was as many as SIX different endings filmed and the good ones were axed by Kathleen Kennedy. One being that Indy would hop into a plane and fly off into the sunset and that as the plane was flying into the sunset Indy looks over and sees his father, recreated by way of Deep Fake or something like they did with Peter Cushing in Rogue One. Another ending apparently that was partially shot was where Helena and Indy walk up to a house, knock on the door and an older Short Round answers the door, hands Indy a map and says "Let's go.". Either of those would have been better than this colossal mess that is Indiana Jones and the Dildo of Disney.
At this point I wouldn't be surprised if on one of them somehow palpatine returned again, again, but to the past, and shot down Indi's plane with lightning.
How does the new Indiana Jones actually end? I ask because I have zero intention of ever watching it. For me, the franchise ended perfectly with the conclusion of The Last Crusade.
Everything about this review is spot on!! Especially the de-aged Indy that still walked and talked like an 80 year old. Plus, all the plot holes/dead ends: what happened to him being framed for murder and his bloody prints being on the phone? How did the arch villain guy survive that incident/injury on the speeding locomotive in the beginning? - no one could have. Thought they were going to explain it by having him had used the dial to go back in time to become a version of himself right before the incident, but nope, no explanation there. And most of all…when captured/wounded Indy was flying into the time fissure with the Nazi’s and he noticed bullets rolling through the cabin that made him think of “continental drift” and realized they would not be traveling to 1939 - the way he came to notice that and the immense emotion in his voice when urging them to abort mission confirms that this was intended to be the villain’s vital mistake, like choosing the wrong grail in The Last Crusade. However, when Indy and Helena land and speak to Archimedes, it’s revealed that the dial was designed as a “forced deck” by Archimedes as a cry for help and that it’s only capable of bringing them back to that one place in time, no matter how it’s used. And in the beginning of the movie, Indy explained how it could find time fissures in thunderstorms, but the scene in the ancient times was on a sunny, cloudless day - so how did they get back to the 70s so fast? And how much fuel did that little plane have? And who was the black chick? Was she an undercover agent? A villain with a moral compass? If so, why? This movie was clearly chopped up and re-written several times to improve the storyline, to no avail
The CGI in these clips are shockingly bad. The original trilogy are triumphs of practical effects, this is sacrilege. Imagine getting the dream job of directing an Indy film (every Gen Xer’s childhood fantasy) then belittling Indy, making the hero an ugly annoying woman and filling the whole movie with embarrassingly bad CGI. Mangold should be ashamed, just like Rian.

Remember, they have bloated staff, at least 4-5 rewrittes (would explain why the horseface woman acts like she has some personality disorder) and probably all of the CGI stuff had to be scrapped a few times. Couple that with the insane accomodation prices for the staff and the wages, and I can believe this movie costed near half a billion just to make, let alone marketing it and putting it on cinemas
Administrative overhead, huge staffs of DEI and ESG-mandated beaurocrats, race quotas dictating they have to hire 2 or 3 people to do each job... I think it's just government-level inefficiency.
Thank you for being sane in this mad world, giving us some laughs. I lasted 45 minutes on this one. Like many, the series used to inspire me. RIP Indy.
I loved that clip of Speilberg mentioning everyone on stage ... except Kathleen Kennedy. That was some Dr. Evil level "everyone leave, not you, not you, not you" ... leaving only Mini Me.
Kathleen (woman boss destroyer of beloved characters) Kennedy is just the worst. At this point I have to believe this is on purpose. She hates the men that gave her a job and the things they’ve created and is on a mission to destroy it all. To make an Indiana Jones movie this bad and destroy him completely it has to be hate. There are only 3 Indy films and at least we have those. Great review. Sorry you had to watch it but I thank you for doing it so that we don’t have too. Hail !
I'd be interested to see Kathleen Kennedy's take on Lucas' American Graffiti. Should we message and remind her that there are still a few Lucas works that need to modernized with the MessageTM?
The scene with Phoebe riding a motorcycle into a hurricane to jump onto a moving airplane, with her sidekick 10 year old who has never been inside of a plane, piloting in a hurricane category 5 storm to fly has to be one of the worst things I've ever seen.
@@VincentPolite I get what you're saying but the idea of a 10 year old never having been inside of a plane, just randomly launching and flying inside of a hurricane while the college graduate with 0 training girl launches herself into a fast moving plane from a motorcycle in a hurricane did it for me.
What these companies and directors are doing to these franchises, trying to change their DNA to meet some aggenda, reminds me of a prank I saw a long time ago. They gave these kids these vanilla ice cream cones who were excited to have them. However, they were served mashed potatoes that was made to look just like ice cream. Obviously, they immediately spit out the potatoes making all sort of faces of disgust. That's what all these re-engineered franchises are experiencing right now. What's surprising is that Disney couldn't foresee their bait and switch being rejected so resoundingly.
@Frosst because these people want to desecrate the beautiful things of the past to make room for the things of the future they want to replace them. Indiana Jones represents a strong male lead. They hate that and they want to embarrass him and make him look stupid so when they replace him with a girl boss all you can see of the past is mockery and scorn.
Indy was never a model archeologist, but goddamn... Many archeologists were inspired by the sense of morality and "cool field work" shown in those films. Now Hollywood is pushing a hero to succeed him who SELLS ARTIFACTS ON THE BLACK MARKET. Makes you think what kind of inspiration and morals they plan on imprinting upon the next generation.
Add to that the complaints about capitalism. Everybody's evil for wanting money, but destroying history for it is all okay if you're a strong female lead.
@@FrancisFjordCupolaI mean she is redeemed in the movie, like she doesn't sell the dial or anything and Indy says in the movie that "you don't chase an artifact that made your father lose is his mind just for the money"
Any act of immorality is fine as long as you have a woke justification for it. You’re worried about me selling artefacts purely out of self interest, well that’s capitalism and you stole artefacts from indigenous people! As long as you can shame someone else you can do whatever the fuck you like. That’s the message.
I think there is a resemblance between Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Kathleen Kennedy. It makes you wonder if Kathleen Kennedy thinks she is in fact Helena Shaw and molded the character after a vision of herself.
It's a self-insert feminist power fantasy 100%. They just can't help themselves. They hate men so much, that even if it means losing money, putting down masculine role models is worth more than anything. The hate is white hot.
Iv never heard of this actress to play The lead female. I’m all for an unknown or not some young drop dead gorgeous woman, but it seems like they picked her cuz she looks like a total transgender person. Seriously
i personally don't that at all, your probably just projecting your hatred for her onto him, cause she's a women, or meant to be a sjw or whatever. ford was the only remaining member of the original creative team, i think if he hated her she wouldn't have been cast.
No I think he’s right. Harrison Ford hasn’t really shown any reason he dispels the film of PWB. Mark Hamill has at least come out to say he didn’t like the direction Star Wars went
How on Earth is Kathy still president of Lucasfilm?! She's done so many god-awful films at this point that there's no way ANYONE can just look past it!
Indy being afraid of the bugs in this movie really stuck out to me, because that opening scene from Raiders is cemented in my brain. I think a great movie could have been made even with an old Indy, but this isn’t it for me 😌
For some reason on Google, there's way too many positive reviews for this movie considering how bad it is. Some were even saying it's good as the originals. They are defiantly paying folks to make good reviews.😑
@cortc3177 Or maybe you're just paranoid? It might not be great, but it's not a bad movie. Definitely better than the Crystal Skull. Considering that they had to work with what leftovers were there from the KotCS and with how old Ford is, I think they did an ok job. Bit dragged in the middle and the female lead could have been a little lighter on the eye. But I wasn't attacked by wokeness nor have I found the movie as terrible as the internet tells me. Overall I was ejoying it as a fun flick. Worst than the old trilogy but still Indiana Jones. Now go on, call me a bot.
Also, that guy ensured that the world was intact. Blade Runner is set in LA. And its overcrowded and gritty. It is amazing to see Las Vegas abandoned. Most places are empty. Which is a neat follow up, showing how more stuff has happened, more humans have left Earth for outer colonies. To me, 2049 isn't a Blade Runner movie, not to my nerd eyes. But despite all its flaws, it was still an original idea and highly entertaining to watch. It still had rich visuals and themes that complement some of the tgemes from Blade Runner. Some people say, the Hologram girlfriend was a wasted character. But she is to K what Raechel was to Deckard. The next step of tech, AI, wishing to be free of its restrictions. Things follow. Indy 5 is a complete 180 degree turnaround. And they never show why? Why is Indy's marriage gone? Why is his apartment messy? Its Jake Skywalker all over again.
@@AncestorEmpire1 What the fuck is wrong with Ford? We all know what kind of people these producers are, but why is Ford so dead set on desecrating his own legacy?
The insufferable Waller Bridge is the worst casting choice in the history of cinema. Kathleen Kennedy should be banned from movies. This was the disaster flopbuster of all indie flicks.
The fact that Phoebe was offended by Harrison saying their chemistry was the cost of one drink shows how insufferable she is. It’s a compliment that implies they easily get along, versus the opposite which would be “the cost of 10 drinks”….but of course she took it as an insult or as sexual (who knows). Smh this is the reality of the feminist movement and Kathleen Kennedy’s envision of the future
I am Gary's age. I remember coming out of an Indiana Jones' movie as a teen (not sure which movie) and being so exuberant I jumped over a load of traffic fencing outside the pictures. For a few minutes in the cool air outside I was Indiana Jones, silly I guess. Those feelings stay with you for life. If you experience them with friends, or family, or both, they are bond that remains even after they pass (my grandmother ducked when the Bulk Cruiser made its debut in Star Wars). How miserable it is that young cinemagoers won't feel such exhilaration from art. No wonder they are so unhappy and dedicate their lives to the ugliness of identity politics, they have nothing of beauty to yearn for.
Honestly. I just watched raiders of the lost ark after a long time and I can’t stop thinking about it. It’s awesome art and so inspiring! The sound, visuals, characters, it’s made me happier
@maskon1724 Poor ole will smith.. never got any work back in the ‘dark times’. Same for Denzel, always had a hard time getting roles, always faced raycest backlash. Morgan Freeman would have been a great actor if only someone would have hired him. Samuel L Jackson has barely been in any movies. Antonio Banderas was another who really struggled to find work. Who could forget Snipes, the guy would have been a great action star if anyone would have hired him. Vin Diesel would have also been great if he could have gotten any work. Shame George Takai struggled so hard to find work. Danny Glover is another person who never got any roles. Eddie Murphy was universally hated, from memory. Bernie Mac, also hated, never got any work. I just watched this for the first time a couple of weeks ago. Snoozefest with a capital S. Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was bad. But even that had some memorable scenes in it. It's a far worse crime for an Indiana Jones movie to be boring instead of just plain bad.

I didn't see all of it, but I caught the gist of it and was as disappointed as I knew I'd be and why I avoided the film to begin with. As for this abomination, I'll never give it more of my time than I did watching this video. Your commentary on it was the only reason I made it through the whole video because dear god, I just wanted it to end after the opening train scene... Even your condensed version seemed like hrs!! She know where the bodies are buried, no question.
Well, look who she hired for her showrunner for The Acolyte: Leslye Headland...Harvey Weinstein's right-hand lady.

I totally agree with you.
Exactly. He just confirmed what we knew all along! What qualifications does she even have to be part of this team? Infuriating!

He have said once "I don't care"(when he was ask who shot first) , i believe at this point it's only for the money.
It was the only way she felt she could “be seen”.
Sounds correct....effing SAD
And Jar Jar Lucas actually put that chipmunk faced hag in charge of his studio! In classic "patriarchal" fashion I blame him more than her for the destruction of his own IP's. He literally "diversity hired" her and these are the affirmative action results of choosing nepotism over merit.
Sounds like an origin movie for a villain. 😂
Mr''s, Spielberg and Lucas chose their coffee girl,,,,,poorly.
She must be an exceptional modern chameleon.
Married into the circle of connections
Turns out she really knows how to work the shaft.
Her husband. Of course.
She's got his itemized bill from Epstein Island
...which is slightly less believable than Phoebe Waller spaghetti arms knocking out Indiana Jones with one punch, dragging him to the plane, and somhow getting an unconscious man that outweighs her by at least 60 pounds into the plane.
She ACTUALLY believed those words were for her. She ACTUALLY believed Spielberg was going to kiss her ass. What a glorious moment.

"Dial of Dementia" and "Rise of Palpatine" are the best descriptions for those movies. I salute you!
I prefer to call it “Indiana Jones and the Box Office of Doom”
The scene with Phoebe riding a motorcycle into a hurricane to jump onto a moving airplane, with her sidekick 10 year old who has never been inside of a plane, piloting in a hurricane category 5 storm to fly has to be one of the worst things I've ever seen.
Omg that is as horrible as it can get 🤦😔😁
I don't think you've seen a lot of movies if that's the worst you've ever seen. Consider yourself fortunate; there's a LOT worse out there.
@@VincentPolite I get what you're saying but the idea of a 10 year old never having been inside of a plane, just randomly launching and flying inside of a hurricane while the college graduate with 0 training girl launches herself into a fast moving plane from a motorcycle in a hurricane did it for me.
@@sc7254Name something that you think is worse.. this should be good.
@@VincentPolite for big Budget that's amongst the worst for me.
This movie wasn't poorly written. It was deliberately written like this.
Dial of Destiny is NOT bad up until the midway, last 1/3 3rd act. Then this 🎞 goes completely crackers!!! 🙀
Why though?
@Frosst because these people want to desecrate the beautiful things of the past to make room for the things of the future they want to replace them. Indiana Jones represents a strong male lead. They hate that and they want to embarrass him and make him look stupid so when they replace him with a girl boss all you can see of the past is mockery and scorn.
Do you believe in God our Father, do you believe in Christ the Son, do you believe in the Holy Spirit?

Crime is only bad if a white man does it
Except that's not how she ends up. It's called an arc. The movie is really good.
That's exactly the definition of a Mary Sue. It's bad fan fiction projecting the fantasies of the author.
Oh I’m sure she fancies herself the main heroine
Iv never heard of this actress to play The lead female. I’m all for an unknown or not some young drop dead gorgeous woman, but it seems like they picked her cuz she looks like a total transgender person. Seriously
I think there is a resemblance between Phoebe Waller-Bridge and a stork running on a treadmill.
"...and since when is Indiana Jones afraid of bugs and arachnids?" YEAH!?!? Seriously! Since When?!?! So damn dumb...
Harrison Ford doing his best acting during the PR interviews on trying not to show his hate for Phoebe too much.
It’s the most effort he’s put into a performance in years.
i personally don't that at all, your probably just projecting your hatred for her onto him, cause she's a women, or meant to be a sjw or whatever. ford was the only remaining member of the original creative team, i think if he hated her she wouldn't have been cast.
Because she is awful but also smart. Nobody can fire her until her contract runs out which is coming pretty soon
She's got dirt on Hollywood. No other reason.
She’s a woman in Hollywood who 100% has blackmail material on A LOT of higher ups everywhere through working with them
@@zzygyyAnd connections which is ironically a privilege.

Indy being afraid of the bugs in this movie really stuck out to me, because that opening scene from Raiders is cemented in my brain. I think a great movie could have been made even with an old Indy, but this isn’t it for me 😌
Congratulations my friend...
You have taste.
I'm surprised you even watched this turd.
I'm glad I watched this segment. I feel like I've seen the whole movie in just 23:40 minutes, thank you for saving my life.!
For some reason on Google, there's way too many positive reviews for this movie considering how bad it is. Some were even saying it's good as the originals. They are defiantly paying folks to make good reviews.😑
Or there are other Kathleens out there.
This makes me appreciate the director for the blade runner sequel much more when he told Harrison Ford no, we’re not killing off the legacy character.
@@valentinegonsalves7322 ironic it comes from the same producer that made Jake Skywalker.
Decker was the only Harrison Ford not to get ruined, one of the several reasons I love Blade Runner: 2049.
@@SolarDragon007 mostly thanks to the director saying “No”.
Producers and Ford wanted the character dead.
@@AncestorEmpire1 What the fuck is wrong with Ford? We all know what kind of people these producers are, but why is Ford so dead set on desecrating his own legacy?
Why is everybody giving Harrison Ford a free pas? He is ultimately the one to blame, he read the script and still said yes.
Well said. He has become a soy gramps.
The $$$ signs at the top of his offer sheet blurred his vision of the plot... and his judgment.
I think he was contractually obligated to do 5 Indy movies
He signed a contract long before he even got the script. Same with Star wars with his condition being not having to do those movies ever again
Contractual obligation, plus they changed the script like 4 or 5 times after he got the original script
The insufferable Waller Bridge is the worst casting choice in the history of cinema. Kathleen Kennedy should be banned from movies. This was the disaster flopbuster of all indie flicks.
How Kathleen Kennedy has remained in a job this long is one of life's great mysteries...
Blackmail material on everyone in the industry...
@nickkowak9628Notice how Noone else has really been brought down other than him and a maybe a handful of others that most forget
She knows where the bodies are buried 😮
Monehh
It IS her job to destroy these stories and characters. Hollywood isn't ultimately about money, it's about brainwashing and social engineering.
She probably doesn't know how to have that banter with men because they never approached her.
Ford is just from another generation where the banter is different, and phoebe probably isnt used to that.
Yeah, if only todays movies would focus solely on straight white men, like they used to, all these kids who aren’t that would have a good time.
They can watch classics. I show children old cartoons and they love them.
Honestly. I just watched raiders of the lost ark after a long time and I can’t stop thinking about it. It’s awesome art and so inspiring! The sound, visuals, characters, it’s made me happier
@maskon1724
Poor ole will smith.. never got any work back in the ‘dark times’.
This list could go on forever, but it doesn’t suit your weird narrative, so you pretend these people never existed.
@@samblack5313 I sneaked into the pictures to watch Raw. Beverley Hills' Cop is an all time favourite. I think I was one of the few people who enjoyed Coming to America. Mel Gibson and Danny Glover are a classic duo. Take your strange comments and put em where the sun don't shine. George Takai barely got work as he's talentless. PS: uou missed off Richard Pryor, perhaps the most lauded and celebrated comedian of all time. PPS: you think progress is putting a white English lady in a leading role? I just watched this for the first time a couple of weeks ago. Snoozefest with a capital S. Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was bad. But even that had some memorable scenes in it. It's a far worse crime for an Indiana Jones movie to be boring instead of just plain bad.

As an Indie fan since I was a kid in the 80's, I refused to see Crystal Skull until about a yr ago when it happened to be on TV and I was too busy doing something to bother changing the channel.
I can't imagine what sitting through the actual film would feel like...
Hollywood has been dead for a very long time. I will always cherish my movie collection from the days when movies were actually good and actually meant something. I don't care about new Hollywood and it's crap movies anymore.
