@XcessPain I haven't watched a single Disney Wars thing, PERIOD. Even my very Liberal semi-woke sister disliked the "Sequel" Trilogy. I've completely ignored The Mandalorian and Andor. Skeleton Crew DOES NOT EXIST for me. Disney Wars is *cooked.*
The only people who didn't like Finn as a character was Disney themselves. Everybody I knew and everything I saw was about how they utterly wasted him as a character. He was something different, and in the end, he was minimized on posters (again, by Disney, not the fans) and given no real importance.
When it was first announced I honestly thought he was going to be related to windu or lando. And he would have been the main character and Ray would have been the side character.
A bunch of people I know didn't like him from the start for two reasons. 1. once they established stormtroopers as clones, it seemed really out of place and pandery. 2. he existed purely to be the black love interest for the white woman. We're glad that he turned out to be a big dumb nothing burger rather than something more propagandistic. I do feel sorry for black people though. To be pandered to only for their token character to be useless. Same how asians were strung along with rose. Disney is so awful.
Completely agree. Finn is the most interesting idea those movies had. The way Disney had it set up, that war had been going on for _40 FUCKING YEARS_ (to this day, I have no idea what the First Order are. They’re the Empire, as far as I’m concerned). A Stormtrooper who had enough, took his helmet off, and basically asked, “What in the holy *fuck* are we DOING?!?” could’ve been a really interesting journey. But, you know…I guess screaming, “REY! REY! REY!” for 2 1/2 movies is fun, too. 😐
I just realized hot much more I hate what Disney did with Star Wars... I remember when Han Solo was killed I was so confused and lost. Like WHY and WTF is this BS?! Then in one more movie they just triple down and did Leia and Luke even worst!
You know it's just fantastic, when a video of the top 10 failures of Disney Star Wars is far more entertaining and well put together, than the last 10 plus years of Disney Star Wars content, with maybe 1 or 2 exceptions (Mando Seasons 1&2).
Mauler talking about a 15 minute chunk of The Force Awakens for 6 hours is a better Star Wars movie than anything Disney has come out with that isn't reluctantly Rogue One
No wonder Mark Hamill became so deranged. He's not actually angry at fans. He's angry at himself for letting Disney do that to him and his character legacy but he's trapped by his own previous life decision and job choices. Wow.
You killed me with that Trainspotting intro for Obi Wan! Fantastic. 'I chose not to choose profit. I chose something else, and the reasons, there are no reasons. Who needs reasons when you've got diversity?'
Kennedy was never a creative. She was a functionary at Lucasfilm she took notes, made the coffe and was a general gofer. She somehow managed to get “executive producer” credits on all the great films Lucas and Spielberg made. However left to fend for herself without their talent she is as atrocious as I thought she would be. George made a bad choice.
The Mandalorian was the hope spot for me. I put aside all of my violent hatred for Disney and, for just a second, I dared to dream and hope again. Then they fvcked it up and ruined that as well. I'm done, I'm out. Star Wars is *cooked.*
I’d move TLJ up to #1… that was the point the killed hope for so many fans and made so many of us turn away. Ryan Johnson subverted expectations so hard he killed the Star Wars fandom.
This is true, but there were also various stages. The popularity of Mando brought a lot of people back, but then Kenobi pissed them off again with the bait and switch tactics and not giving it as many resources as their other shows. That woke up a lot of SW fans, and the shows' ratings never recovered. Then the Acolyte woke up everyone, because even people that had never watched SW could see how bad it was with the viral clips like "The power of mannyyy".
I agree. While the Acolyte was far worse IMO you can at least write it off as a failed spinoff. TLJ had to succeed and instead condemned the entire sequel trilogy era to failure. There’s a reason even Disney won’t touch the sequel era anymore with any new product.
Excellent video, one of your best. Your closing statement: "Turning Starwars from a Boy-brand that EVERYONE can enjoy into a Girl-brand that NO ONE can enjoy' is SPOT ON. I tip my hat to you sir.
Top 10 Failures in the Original Era: "There were failires?" Top 10 Failures in the Prequel Era: "Sure, but they're endearing and make great memes" Top 10 Failures in the Sequel Era: "You narrowed it down to only 10?"
@@zshah3107 sam is an actor and began with SW before Disney Star Wars voicing Maul and star killer like he certainly has passion, but he’s just an actor so he doesn’t have much influence I think Feloni and Faveru well, but eventually got caught up in their own hype, and especially feloni for basically using the original trilogy as his toy box which came as a detriment to Mandalorian I really don’t think he’s adapted as well to live action compared to animation. Mandalorian lucked out on having great filmmakers like Favro and Bryce Dallas howard on board compared to Asoka, which just had way worse quality in terms of cinematography and direction. Overall, I just think Feloni got too big for what he could handle and Faveru was too hamstrung.
There were failures in the OT era. The Death Star having such a vulnerable exhaust port was a joke among fans and detractors. Many a Trekkie used it during the ritual SW vs ST debates. And of course everybody HATED the Ewoks. Because of them the OT is 2,5 good movies. With the last one being moments of sheer throneroom awesome sauce mixed in with teddybear cringe. Sadly they were a harbinger of what Lucas would unleash on us with the Prequels. Also, and probably the biggest fail of them all, Lucas erasing the theatrical versions from history in favor of his 'improved' CGI overload.
That's what really cements The Acolyte as the biggest flop. Disney stubbornly refuses to admit that they're never going to make most of these films and series, but with Acolyte S2 they didn't even have the heart to pretend for even a month.
Book of Boba Fett should have been awesome. It should have been the sci/fi equivalent of The Godfather - mob factions battling it out for control of Tatooine. How you can screw that up blows my mind - but their mad dash to undo the end of The Mandalorian season 2 is largely responsible.
Was fan of him since Battlefront 2 (classic, from 2005). The only thing that pleases me is that Disney paid him well, to destroy his character, as well as many others along the way
22:48 "In addition to getting the rights to destroy one of the greatest family franchises and epic stories of all time, Disney is also destroying all of Lucasfilm's operating businesses. George Lucas is a true visionary, and an innovative epic storyteller. Because we are none of those things, we will corrupt and degrade everything he created."

Nice production, with special attention to detail and providing a cohesive and compelling narrative. Even if I never cared one bit for StarWars, this video is very well crafted.
I realize watching that it really is a kind of major undertaking to try to rank all of Disney SW failures-as you aptly point out, “…there’s so much ‘suck’ to choose from!” Makes it seem like an easy task until you sit down to do it. Great job; good ranking, outstanding editing, and a thoughtful, funny narration.
Imagine being so bad at your job, you cannot even manage to sell Star Wars to people. Just let that sink in. How do any of these people still have jobs? Just how? I once had a Sales job and had one bad month where I didn't reach my quota and was fired. Again... how do any of these people still have jobs? I feel like you could give this franchise to some random youtube Star Wars normie and they would create better products.

Actually, kinda nailed it with the "not for over 50's experience", not understanding DISNEY that Star Wars is generational, us oldies pass on the galaxy's experience to the young ones... it's all the same, or should have been, the same galaxy. In Scotland our slang for does not is disnae said the same way as Disney. So Disnae Work, Disnae tell a story, Disnae act well, Disnae know wtf it's doing.

The creative vandalization of Star Wars will go down as one of the greatest tragedies in American entertainment. Through a combination of horrid management, terrible creative priorities, wholesale lack of budget control, and some of the scummiest people in history of cinema, they have forced a money-printing evergreen IP into stagnation and irrelevance. A more deliberate and thorough destruction of a multibillion dollar property isn't seen anywhere else outside of warfare. It's time to light the funeral pyre of Star Wars and walk away. TFA was way worse than TLJ. Remember that TFA was the one that: - Turned Luke into a coward that hides when the galaxy needs him. - Turned Han and Leia into divorced and bad parents that raised a war criminal or possibly worse. - Ruined the victories of the OT, because it turns out the bad guys are still dominant and have more powerful weapons than in the OT. - Showed disney that they can sell any garbage to the fans, just by slapping "star wars" on it.
also had a war criminal who could hold back a laser blast lose to an untrained desert girl, ignored basic physics bc that shit is for dorks, and made the new empire look like absolute massives when their base was easily infiltrated and destroyed when they're suppose to be way stronger and more equipped than the old empire. but, the order really should go TFA < TLJ < Rise of Palpy. ruining han and leia is bad, but degrading luke into a pit of shame is worse, and undoing luke's arc AND vader's redemtion is the worst of them all.

I think it is time for an romantic comedy taking place on a star destroyer with the gayest band of Imperial Troopers in the galaxy. They come prancing onto the battlefield, wearing pink armor. Will be so stunning and brave.
The firing of Gina Carano was a crossing of the Rubicon for DisnESG Star Wars(tm).

The only people who didn't like Finn as a character was Disney themselves. Everybody I knew and everything I saw was about how they utterly wasted him as a character. He was something different, and in the end, he was minimized on posters (again, by Disney, not the fans) and given no real importance.
The concept was good but I didn't like the character. Maybe it was because it seemed like he just ran a marathon all the time... sweating and panting.
Token representation, of a lacklustre black actor and an even more lacklustre human.
This is the most entertaining piece of SW I have seen in over a decade. Pierry Chan knocked this shit out the park.
Andor was also a unique exception of the disney sh*t show.
And with some of the clips I am not sure if they are real or from a parody.
I would add the final season of Clone Wars minus the middle 4 episodes.
@@jakobbraun5180Andor was painfully boring.

No wonder Mark Hamill became so deranged. He's not actually angry at fans. He's angry at himself for letting Disney do that to him and his character legacy but he's trapped by his own previous life decision and job choices. Wow.

Adding the power ranger movie music is perfect.
I’d move TLJ up to #1… that was the point the killed hope for so many fans and made so many of us turn away. Ryan Johnson subverted expectations so hard he killed the Star Wars fandom.
Agreed. Tbh, the TLJ should make all the 10 positions 😂😂😂
Ruin Johnson
This is true, but there were also various stages. The popularity of Mando brought a lot of people back, but then Kenobi pissed them off again with the bait and switch tactics and not giving it as many resources as their other shows. That woke up a lot of SW fans, and the shows' ratings never recovered. Then the Acolyte woke up everyone, because even people that had never watched SW could see how bad it was with the viral clips like "The power of mannyyy".
Also. TLJ Helped make Nerdrotic and Critical Drinker popular.

@@zshah3107 sam is an actor and began with SW before Disney Star Wars voicing Maul and star killer like he certainly has passion, but he’s just an actor so he doesn’t have much influence
I think Feloni and Faveru well, but eventually got caught up in their own hype, and especially feloni for basically using the original trilogy as his toy box which came as a detriment to Mandalorian
I really don’t think he’s adapted as well to live action compared to animation.
The music in this video is astonishing. Came for the Star Wars and stayed for the Star Wars and music.
I miss the dishonorable mention: All the canceled projects.
That's what really cements The Acolyte as the biggest flop. Disney stubbornly refuses to admit that they're never going to make most of these films and series, but with Acolyte S2 they didn't even have the heart to pretend for even a month.

I feel bad for Temuera Morrison. I've met him and he's awesome. Deserves a better show
Book of Boba Fett should have been awesome.
The only thing that pleases me is that Disney paid him well, to destroy his character, as well as many others along the way
"Once were warriors" is how i first came across Tamuera.
That was a powerful movie.
Boba should have been left in the shadows. The character was cool “because” we knew so little about him.

Hollywood is an evil place that seeks to operate in defiance of how the world actually works. That's in part why it's anti-meritocracy; people aren't promoted by how rationally-thinking humans organize their hierarchies -- through competence -- but through nepotism, favoratism, tribalism (especially one specific type of "tribe"), quid pro quo, sexual favors, bribery, extortion, black mailing, and collectivist zealotry.

My parents went to see Episode IV on a date when they were engaged. I had Ewok Underoos. Star Wars would not exist if they didn't tell a multi-generational story.

TFA was way worse than TLJ. Remember that TFA was the one that:
- Turned Luke into a coward that hides when the galaxy needs him.
None of this happened the real expanded universe, which is the real Star Wars
also had a war criminal who could hold back a laser blast lose to an untrained desert girl, ignored basic physics bc that shit is for dorks, and made the new empire look like absolute massives when their base was easily infiltrated and destroyed when they're suppose to be way stronger and more equipped than the old empire. but, the order really should go TFA < TLJ < Rise of Palpy. ruining han and leia is bad, but degrading luke into a pit of shame is worse, and undoing luke's arc AND vader's redemtion is the worst of them all.
