Never been a discard enjoyed and currently I hate the archetype, but I really like Colleen Wing and Silver Samurai. Colleen is just reliable and easily is my favorite
Mailbag: Do you guys realize that listening to you every week is like snuggling under a cozy blanket (no pun intended) and getting tucked in by your parents? I'm 46 but I get a childlike joy from listening to you two chat about Snap every week. ❤
As discard expands into different play patterns I could see Swarm getting bumped +1 power at some point.
I don't. I LOVE discard but it's getting plenty to eat and Swarm isn't really about its stats primarily.
Mailbag: If SD were to add a guild/clan feature to Marvel Snap, what specific features would you like to see upon launch? I believe the ability to chat, share decks, and possibly some sort of clan goal to get a reward would be nice. My idea is that maybe there's an objective every week where the clan has to collectively meet a goal, and maybe the reward is a collection key or something like that. I would love to hear y'all's perspective on this topic. Keep up the great work, I love the podcast!
They should add the option to requests specific boosters, other people can donate to you. That would be insanely good ( like in clash royale )
Love the +1 hand size idea. Start it at 2/0 like Adam Warlock, and buff/nerf based on how it does.
When talking about debuffing the Hela/Lockjaw decks, one should also mention that we've had an increase in big power cards released lately which exacerbates the ability for those decks to do well. Do you think there is a possibility they trim down the power creep we've seen over the past few months? I fear that the meta is becoming too overladen with big power, which pushes down the competitiveness of the combo and control decks.
I think instead of nerfing lockjaw, more cards that can limit big power play should be added. Something like “no card over 9 power can be played, or added to this location” this wording wouldn’t stop cards from being moved there however since that would just murder move decks. Played or added only would put a damper on the creep. Would need to be like a 4 cost however imo so that it isn’t as easily splashed. With Zabu making it a 3 wouldn’t even be bad either. Could help lock down that location so you could more effectively deal with lockjaw/hella stuff without making the ramp playtime useless
I agree. some of the 4 and 5 cost cards in the game have gotten unnecessary power buffs
Took all week to get an answer for Corvus and finally got it. Went to roll and pulled first try, WHAT A TIME TO BE A MARVEL SNAP PLAYER LETSSSS GOOOOOOO 🎉🎉

Mailbag: what cards do you think are the most needing of a visual or sound effect? For me Coulson is the only SHEILD card without an effect which feels off. Also, feels weird to not have an intro animation for Giganto when smaller cards like Cull Obsidian do. Lastly, it feels like the new Bucky animation is missing some needed sound effects
My best deck post infinite has been galactus, but I dropped Selene for Prof X. He’s been so strong. T4 Prof X is amazing still since nobody expects it. T4 Hobgoblin into a t5 Prof is harsh. Prof on right lane so you can play Sentry if you don’t have Annihilus. There’s a ton of uses. Even a t5 Prof is great because with Ravonna you can get Prof & Demon the same turn which can cement a lane even if opp has Jeff
MAILBAG :): Do you think we could ever expect more Location-creation cards? (Storm makes flooded, Rhino makes Ruins, Magik makes Limbo, etc). And if so, what location-creation cards would you like to see? I'd love if they made a card that changes a location to k'un-l'un or anything archetype specific.
A friend of mine has been saying since before the Kingpin change that Kingpin should change the location to Fisk Tower. Every one of these added steals power from others though, especially from Storm and Magik.
added alioth and prof x into blob/thanos and Hela has been much easier to deal with. i'm loving Corvus!
I've definitely seen discard benefit from the extra energy this week. Three use cases in particular:
- being able to play a Magneto on 5 for disruption into Hela on 6,
- being able to play Hela on 5 when Leech is in the opponent's range (meaning you potentially get to bring stuff back on 5 and then play a Leeched Infinaut on 6),
- being able to just play something big on 5 and 6 when your Hela play doesn't come together.
The extra energy is definitely useful in places, even if the deck can't use it all of the time.
Mailbag: How do you decide to use credits toward all your different new cards and variants. I like to keep things organized and use resources efficiently. I would love to hear and see a quick idea how you do this in your collection
The reason why destroy is so good is because it has so many synergies with several of the different locations
Mailbag: what do you think about a card which has the same effect as Rhino and turned any location into Ruins, but the player can change its power during deck building? It would likely change cost depending on the power picked, but this could widely open up Cerebro play without the need for many new cards.
Great ep! I would love to see a similar morbius treatment for Collector.
Mailbag: with more and more new cards in the game and even more ways to combine cards, when do you think it's time to expand the size of the deck and maybe play with 7 rounds as standard. Maybe also depending on what collecting level you are at in order to create an extra level between beginner midfield and endgame. keep it up thanks to you Monday is less bad 👍
Mailbag: What are your favorite and least favorite pixel variants? Most Hated? Most Loved? Which ones are so bad it's good?
On destroy having counters, I've noticed destroy has become much more efficient lately at stealing early prio, which basically shuts down your counters.
It used to be that destroy's opening play would be a telegraphed Deadpool into one lane, so as long as you played a 2+ on turn one to have prio on 2, you could Armor the Deadpool. These days they can Forge one lane into Deadpool in another, and then you have to have 4 power down on turn 2 to have prio going into 3. Alternatively they can use Nico to get an early destroy or to buff the Deadpool in the same way as Forge.
Once they have prio, your counters are basically useless, as they will just destroy their cards before you flip and if you've dropped Cosmo or Armor, they will just move to another lane. Your only chance is if you can snipe Deadpool with the 1 in 3 on turn 2, but that means destroy are still coming out on top in 66% of games.
I've been specifically running a deck with Armor and Cosmo in conquest, which has helped against destroy, but more often than not they will gain early prio and begin to steamroll before I get a chance to block their play, so it's not as simple as just saying these two cards completely shut down destroy.

!Mailbag: Corvus is probably going to be an important example of a card that allowed at least 2 deck archetypes to hybridize better (e.g., collector-discard, ramp-thanos-hela). Annihilus sort of also did that by promoting a Junk-Rocks-Hawks hybrid.
What two deck archetypes would you like to see "merge" in the future and what do you think the key "card ability" it would need to do so?

Discard is BACK baby
I feel like they’ll hit targeted discards before they’ll touch Hela. Time will tell.
Also, for what it’s worth, I also love Grandmaster, mainstay with my Darkhawk deck.
The problem with the hard counters against Destroy is you need them on turns 2 and 3 otherwise the Destroy player has generally already built a tonne of power and can still build more in that third lane.
I want the Hero Maggot added to game that adds two tokens Eany and Meany. (His slugs) when they are played they have an “effect” then it buffs Maggot. Like a Thor but for maybe destroy archetype
Mailbag: Do you think it's time for a card designed to counter Hela / Ghost Rider and similar "summon cards from elsewhere" plays? In the same vein as SK counters buff styles and Mobius counters loki / discount styles, what if we had a card that read "Return all cards on the field that were not played this turn to their owners hand"? ( As an aside, this seems like a great effect for a Dr. Strange rework. Protecting the board from 'extradimensional' threats more in line with his character )

My idea to fix lockjaw, Hela, Thanos. Deck construction restrictions, only allow 2, 6 coast cards in a deck. 6 coast cards can now be made great, it’s an adjustment knob how many cards allowed.
Man i played gold conq against hela as thor, i popped off 5 times in a row with like 30s in two lanes, lost 5 games in a row during the conquest match, this is absolutely BRUTAL
Don’t hate me Alex. But the day the modok season started. I got the battle pass and the second cashe I opened has pixel modok. I was so happy and have split it 3 times lol. Nothing good yet but it’s a fun card to play with when I’m not playing surfer.
Mailbag: The other week you were talking about how iconic characters deserve to be good and mentioned Quick Silver needing to be changed. What do you think about him or a different card having the ability to make the game only 5 turns?
Question for the Mail Bag:
Do you think adding a card that has the ability to remove cards from either the graveyard or discarded cards would be a viable “release valve” tech for Hela and Destroy decks?
Cozy asking for Discard counters. Why not a 2/3 card: Ongoing: Destroyed and Discarded cards cannot be resurrected at this location.

Quick fix to Swarm splits feeling underwhelming. Every time he splits, give him -1 cost and +1 power. Split once for 1/4's, split again for 0/5's.
One might say this was a "NIIIIIIICE" podcast
That last question about destroy, I wanna throw my 2 cents in there. Knull needs a cap, similar to Blob. It’s impossible to counter a 56 power Knull for example. Knull is way too good
Question for next week (as it is my personal hill I will die on) Are cards like Prof X and Cosmo - need to be re-worked or do they need to rework a card like Enchantress to just always work- They just cant be countered unless you are running a card in your deck that serves no purpose - Did marvel snap make a mistake with these cards?
18:45 Anyone else bothered by that visual glitch on Blade's hand on the Season Pass variant? It appears on my iPhone as well and it really bugs me that it still hasn't been fixed.
I’ve been popping off for Alex all week cuz Corvus is the 2est 2 star card ever, so this was a weird change from him. He’s a slightly better Hellcow, a card no one was taking seriously, no decks have been able to turn him into all upside, the ones that do make us of him are typically just worse versions of better decks… like whaaaat are we doing here guys, like you’re bringing up Agatha let’s get real for a second

Corvus feels like X-23 where the deck is already good but with him it gets more smooth and just better

Since im more towards endgame im finding myself using gold only to get new cool variants, but sometimes there is so much good ones for single card so i cant decide... Is there any website or other place where you can see animated card, instead of just checking it on shop when it pops?

My hela "nerf" would be instead of bringing discarded cards back, she summons the same number of tokens with x power. Similar to doom you can control the power of her summons to control her win rate but also opens the types of discard decks she could fit in to

Mailbag: Are you worried about hand attack becoming meta? I can only imagine the hate people have over Leech being amplified because people want to play their cards. I think Second Dinner has been really careful to keep toxic playstyles under the bubble, and I'm curious to hear your thoughts.

@@UA-camHandle98 It would just be no Modok with Hela and vice-versa... Discard hasn't used Hela exclusively until the last month or so, and Modok has been a hard staple in the deck since release...
Mailbag.- What is your opinion with iconic teams in the marvel universe not having any synergy in game? For instance, the avengers , the fantastic four, the x-men, the sinister six etc.
At a minimum this could be a separate game mode where cards get certain team key words.

Anyone else feel that Monday is a dead day in game. After the change to daytime Tuesday new card. I feel they need to make it mid day Monday for the new card.
Corvus ramp is one of my fav decks now. I love classic discard, and Corvus is opportunity to try something new with the pretty same shell

13:59 gambit is a joke every time I play him he tries to destroy a protected card. Unless I go full Exodia Gambit, he is worthless.
What base card would people be screaming "OP" if it were released now? For me it's Killmonger. I don't really use 1 cost cards because of him.

Not much feels as good in game as Black Knight round one, with blade in hand, and top decking Infanaut, also having a Ghost Rider ready as well
