yeah, it's exactly like that. I loved WoT but IMO WT is better, some battles are very satysfing, others are a pain in the ass. Just hate or love it. I play only Realistic, gameplay is slower and strategy is more important than AB.

@@tipi5586 Seriously it's great fun, I once just sat outside the enemy spawn in the b1 ter, constantly firing both guns and ended the game with like 11 kills.
I felt dirty doing it though.
I skipped the WoT M3 as soon as I could while with the WT M3 I managed once to fight 3 different enemies simultaneously and get victorious.

Depends how well you perform per match. Without prem I was able to average around 3-4k SL per game in air rb. My tank stats were worse due to the horrid multipliers..
@@covenantslayergaming6362 Yeaaaaah. I don't perform that well in either. Most likely just due to a lack of playing the game. XD hard to 'learn' through watching skilled people on youtube due to them going "Oh, antenna over that hill!" but the bitrate means the antenna doesn't exist in YT and so I have no idea what they're actually seeing.

excuse me getting that churchill costed me so long in WoT that I gave up before getting it
IIRC the Churchill I and VII in WoT weren't too bad, the Black Prince at T7 though... worst gun of the T7 Heavies, slowest top speed, good armor (if the enemy is an idiot or doesn't carry premium)... that's the tank that stopped me grinding Brit Heavies, was looking forward to the Caernarvon and Conqueror too.
I play wot only during the Christmas event and I got a tier VIII. How tf did you spent 400 hrs to get a tier V ?

That's why the trick to getting top tier without opening your wallet is to focus 1 nation at a time.

Well it is just unrealistic and in games like these it is also stupid, i mean i could battle an Abrams tank with a Flakpanzer I and would actually have a chance to win bc i only need to reduce his big bunch of hitpoints.

@@BogWarThunder I play both, and WoT might be very frustrating but the hitpoint system and arcade style is also very dopamine inducing.
@@BogWarThunder as far as I’m aware, you only lose hit points if the enemy shots actually penetrate your armor. So no, Flakpanzer is still not winning.

@@nogisonoko5409 it's easier than it sounds like to be good at tank battles in WT. yeah you can get one shotted, but you can one shot everyone else too if you're good enough.
WT has a way more realistic approach at battles and it takes some time to get used to the different mechanics. Another thing is that the outcome of your encounters is more tied to your skill and partly luck. you can YOLO your way into the enemy team and it may work or not. Unlike WoT where everyone hides behind a rock to safeguard their fucking WN8, in WT everyone goes to the field and ACTUALLY BATTLES WITH THE ENEMY.
Yeah, it's harder. But also WAY more challenging, and if you're not satisfied with tank battles you still can try plane and ship battles.
These are things that you would know if you played the game, which obviously you haven't done. Or at least that's the idea you're transmitting.

And then you also get shot by an invisible tank. It was a while ago but I once had an SU-85 in wot decloak 50m infront of me. No bushes no cover nothing, it was just right in the open.
@@zafranorbian757 Now to be fair, the SU-100 (not sure if the SU-85 has similar camo* with a full camo build has something like 50% camo rating. Depending on the tank you where in, he could have entirely had the camo the hide. Though its still kinda dumb you can do this

Honestly, whenever I start feeling discontent about the grind in War Thunder, I look back on my WoT days and feel better again.

all i remember from WOT is massive ping,being the first one to get killed,a kill being a special event and boring side scraping matches in city maps.
When i tried a 20mm autocanon in WT and kill a Jumbo with it,I swear I will never return to boring WoT.Full auto is love,full auto is live

Lmao the grind is less of a pain in WoT, and you'll have more fun playing it as well. WT is downright frustrating, you're going bankroute everytime you play a match like bruh I've got a life I'm not spending a whole week of grind to get a new vehicle.

and arti players can magically spot and hit tanks,while pilots have find them with their eyes and they to have rearm at airfield. and if you dont move and you unlocked some good camoo you can hide from them.

@@rezendeiiz.knight1084 i run war thunder on my 2GB of Ram laptop back in 2017. Just put on minim settings and with "obsolete" graphics card option, then you get 30 fps on ground vehicles

@@k-874 Welp i'm almost at 48%. But honestly, i don't think winrate Has to do anything with your skill eg. Arty goes drowns themselves and you get in your team a normal lt, but enemy has a wheeled lt. It's most probable you'll lose, even tho it's not entirely your fault. Also there are accounts that get daily 8-9k WTR (like myself) but me, from the past holds me back, because well, i wasn't a very good player at the start and i don't wanna to restart my whole ass progress only for the stas sake. I’ve been telling this one to myself for about 400 hours now.
Same dude. XD. I like its realism but I play WoT if I want fun.
I maxed out every country back in 2014, when ground vehicles were new, now I look at it and wonder "what the hell was I doing with my life".
I feel like war thunder players should spend more time in low tier... I personally found it hella fun when I switched over from grinding my ass for a panther to having fun in an Su-5-1 , trying different tech trees is a good way to play low yier as it usually just means you can play a whole bunch of new tanks instead of pretty repetetive tanks like the german Panzer 4s or murican Shermans

@@kh2b573 People often say low tier is fun, but not because of a huge variety of tanks and fast grind, but because low tier is littered with noobs and a decent player will always come on top. Id suggest playing high tier if you want to improve, because failure leads to learning, and you will become a stronger player if you play against strong players.

Pick your poison: One makes you grind for the real gun, useful engines and other parts, the other makes you grind for fire extinguishers and the useful ammo, spare parts to actually fix stuff, etc.
I dunno, quite a bit of stock ammo in WT is pretty good, now if only M61 was stock for the US 75mm and 76mm guns...
Many stock rounds in war thunder are pretty ok... atleast you dont haveto waste 20$ on shells just to be able to kill ONE specific tank in a certain tier

War Thunder: Larger maps and punished faster than you can think for a mistake.
World of Tanks: Sardine can maps, unless you want to play EBRline, more forgiving.
Both need a serious viable competitor to put them in their place and stop milking players as bad as they do.

Premium shells have been made less effective, cheaper and purchasable only with silver (gold can be converted to silver, by it is better to pay for the premium account than to convert directly) around a year ago
@Alexander Mattson Premium tanks in WoT are quite underpowered. The only objectively good thing about them is the amount of money they generate

Anyways, research in WG games is pretty quick, you get through tier 1-3 in almost no time, tier 4 is worse, because it sometimes doesn't have very good aircrafts, so it takes a bit longer to get through - like few hours, but when you get to tier 5 it is pretty fine than, there is a lot of the legendary aircrafts like Spitfire I or Messerschitt BF 109 - and tier 5 is pretty much the most fun tier since it is not hard but not that easy either so you have most of the fun there.

Sadly I started playing WoT when WT didn't even exist... since one or two years when I got interested in real tanks I always wanted to switch over to WT but I don't have the same will to grind and play as I had when I started playing WoT so I never bothered to get to the high tiers so I continued to play WoT just because it takes much less effort (and because I'm still playing with some old friends), although I play it much much much less than what I used to... but I reckon WT is the better games if you like ACTUAL real life tanks.
Anyway great video you managed to sum up the two games and the communities very well! And hilarious as usual
but WT also uses hitpoints on top of the fact that gaijin makes up their own data.
Both games are entertainment not representative of reality. Spookston does a good job of highlighting the many tanks and WT's issues
But if you think WOT takes less effort, then I'm sure you're one of the best players
@@axeavier surely not one of the best, but I had a pretty good run, now I'm way past my prime in WoT, the fact is you can play it in a very "mechanical" way and achieve decent results anyway (which is what I'm doing now...) you just go around the same places do the same things, you don't have to really put your mind into it after you have some experience... but for WT you always need to be ready constantly scan for enemies etc...
@@federico339 I say both at the same, it's about knowing the map and the capabilities of the vehicles. Like I said, if you had it figured out, you would've been one of the best. Instead you're basically telling me you plateaued in being good but not great.
I could say WT is no different because players typically take common paths, and there are sections to take that will often catch them off guard assuming you live long enough to not die from a revenge bombing.
If you want the ultimate "you always need to be ready" experience, then you'd be playing GFSB and very few in WT do. As opposed to GFRB which is AB+ with the many arcade mechanics.

Volumetric shells has entirely changed the game. And tbh, what War Thunder does that WoT doesn't is that it allows you to utilise tactics to an extent which approaches a vague microcosmic simulation of actual war. When the Mark 1 Eyeball is all that you have to defend yourself with, as well as three squad mates on discord, you can actually approach something of a simulation of war, though certainly not a true simulation of the operation of the vehicle in Ground Realistic. War Thunder does have a very good simulator mode, if you fancied having a migraine to pass the time.
I'd suggest you give it a go, because one of the beautiful things about war thunder, especially after the volumetric shells update, is that the low tier tank play is just the most fun the game has to offer. It's fast paced, low cost, high flying action. And then because war theory, it takes about 7.0 BR to get to the same kind of fast paced action when MBTs finally arrive. But in between there is the plethora of famous tanks you might want to use. But along the way, you'll understand why the Panzer II, the Stuart, the BT--5 and the Crusader were such interesting, if not very effective irl, tanks of war.

@@ok-mx1mi Its really up to you. WOT is friendlier to new players and is more arcade, which for most people is a lot of fun. I personally like it better if you just want to have fun. WT is awesome if you are a fan of history and armored/aviator combat. I play it because of that.
WT if you want realisic-esque gameplay. Much slower and methodical gameplay.
WoT for faster paced gameplay, very easy to learn. Lots of tanks to choose from if you don't mind most newer tanks being prototypes or blueprint vehicles.

Same, that's one of the main reasons I ditched that game, the fecking enemy right in front of me, but because of the "aim" the shell would fly anywhere but the target, I know that Warthunder has something similar, but at least it's not a thing that will make you miss 90% of your nearly point-blank shots.
