  • Come with us to a wild and remote camping and fishing spot at the entrance to the world's largest harbour. We are headed to Pouto at the northern head of the Kaipara Harbour. This is an authentic fishing paradise in New Zealand and the fact that you can camp here makes the long trip more than worthwhile.
    This is a very unique location for camping and fishing at a world-class surfcasting beach. You can expect to catch many different fish species such as Kahawai, Snapper, Trevally, Gurnard, sharks and pretty much else that swims in New Zealand's waters.

      haha, yeah trying to explore as much as possible in this short life, eh :) If only we could get the audio right at some stage, LOL. Got all sorts of microphones and still end up with crappy audio in our vids.

      @@AdriftFishing yeah mate. The perception of time is very subjective, eh. If every day is the same grind, it feels like life goes by very fast. But if every day is different, it feels as if life was just a little longer in retrospect 🙂

      yea...its a place with many widows, showing on the signpost at the entrance of the beach. Mark was not allowed to go any further than knee-deep water. Haha! You are not allowed to go any further than that either, Jinny says. And come on people, my name is Hyeshin.

      well between us, I did go waist deep to get some longer casts when nobody was looking. But psst - don't tell Hyeshin.

    The reason you were losing so much gear is because when your sinker hit the bottom the mussel it landed on closed and you couldn't break it free. Those mussel beds go all the way up to Pouto

    • @Fishingreminder
      @Fishingreminder  5 місяців тому +1

      cheers, must be very big mussels then - green shell?

      @@Fishingreminder Yes, the bed is massive, from around the lighthouse to Pouto point. Not sure how far across to South head it goes
