We really like lighthouses. we generally always go check them out when we make it to the coast. Looks like a beautiful area thanks for taking us along.
Excellent video. Really well made and appreciated the bits about the iron and bog. Very interesting. Especially the rubble coming from Mt Eden of all places.
@@GeoRick Yes, I was walking our coastline this afternoon and it was absolutely freezing, blowing like mad, and raining as much as is possible! Defo trying to get me off the beach and into the warm living room brrrrrr!
Wow, that was a long walk! But it looks like a beautiful lighthouse and a beautiful place to visit! Those look like my Merrells. Thank you for sharing!
LOVE NZ Beaches! & your drone footage just tops it all off! 2.5hr walk? Shoulda given the boys on the 4x4s a wink to help get you there! (CORRECTION) HOW COOL THEY GAVE YOU A LIFT! Amazing spot again! 👏🏻
You 2 did such an amazing presentation of this adventure. I was so engrossed that I forgot there would be a geocache find included. I loved the unique camera work, especially the slow motion footsteps.
Thanks we saw a UA-cam video suggesting you hold the GoPro on a pole at arms length upside down and low to the ground. It works well tried it again today.
Great video as per usual! Entertaining and informative. 10 out of 10! Loved the sand and the nature shots as well as the museum visit. Aerial shots are a bonus! (btw, I wish Spain wasn't so restrictive on the use of drones and we could just apply common sense, like in other countries!) Concerning the cache, it's always puzzling when you see that it was originally placed somewhere else but don't know exactly where. I think you did the right thing: leave it as it was found. Jedi Master of geocaching!
Thanks glad you liked it. We have to have land owners permission to fly over but no one owns the foreshore so ok to fly there as long as its not over strangers.
WOW that beach! And I love those sandfalls :D I just looked up that area and it looks magnificent. Too bad there's no cache at the lighthouse. Looks like a great place for one! :) haha, I was wondering if the 'padawan' in the cache name would be relevant!
What beach name did you start walking from? I would like to find in the Google map? Was that 2.5 hrs walk from the starting point to the lighthouse? Thanks ❤
We left from the end of the Pouto Road. The car park near Pouto Point. I am not sure how long it took as we were filming and walking slowly. From memory about two and a half hours but it some time ago so can't be sure. Hope your walk goes well its a great place to visit.

I know what you mean about lighthouses we find them fascinating too. Not sure why may be their locations. Almost always in fantastic places.

Thanks. We were surprised by the rubble inside the walls. It is in a very exposed position so the heavier the better.
Loved that shot of your feet walking through the surf.
Thanks got the idea off UA-cam. GoPro on a pole held at arms length near the ground as you walk. Easy to do and looks great.
we used to go inside the light house when we were young and chill out was awesome back in the mid 90s
What a wonderful place to spend your childhood,
I remember the walk up to the Lighthouse, good leg work out but so worth the effort. Thanks for sharing.
Yes that last bit up to the light house took a lot longer than expected :-)
It's all too beautiful (as the song goes) lol. Quality of light is fabulous. Many thanks for sharing!
The view from the lighthouse was truly wonderful. Wouldn't want to be there during stormy weather though :-)

It's a very beautiful place. Have worn Merralls for years now they are very versatile :-)
Sealed road = paved road hmmm. The falling sand was cool. Nice trek to the lighthouse but quite the long walk. Good thing you got a ride back.
It sure was we were very tired. Hate to think how long the return journey would have taken us :-)

Glad you liked it. Yes 2.5hr one way less if you are fit :-)
BEAUTIFUL! 😍
Thanks, it's a great place to visit.
got to love lighthouses :) another great adventure
We are thinking of creating more lighthouse videos. They look great on screen. Off to another one in a few days time :-)
@@GeoRick sweet:)
What a beautiful place, we particularly love the lighthouses and the sea, thank you for publishing these beautiful landscapes. Greetings and Hugs
Thanks glad you liked the walk to the lighthouse. Hope to have more lighthouses in the future.

Gorgeous! Thanx folks

That drone shot was Magnificent! Sandfalls? Never knew that was a thing. Lots of interesting tidbits on this beautiful adventure. Thank you!
Thanks loved flying the drone there but had a little trouble as there was high wind up around 30m that the drone was struggling with.
LOL you use "magnificent" as a word too! There must be something just magnificent about this location, or video ;D
Cool have bee there , will go again ,,,,,
It's a great place well worth a second visit. Thanks for commenting.

If we had a quad bike we would place one there but walking to replace a log book would be too hard for us :-)
Ahh true, true. Maintenance would be a big task! hehe
we walked home back through the bush and almost got lost although the bush was t that big
