Cheers bro. Yeah tons of great surfcasting spots up there. You could even try join in on the Snapper Bonanza Surfcasting Competition at the 90 mile beach. That's still on my bucket list.
south island TOO COLD for me... was seriously tempted to buy a waterfront farm in the caitlins, but not into freezing everyday, so eventually gave up on that one. Realized its not a dream, but a nightmare, being cold all yr round, espec in winter -about 6 months long down there
Yeah, I love the Catlins. It's magic down there in summer but the long winters can be quite uncomfortable. Even in summer you need to wear winter clothes at times.
I was at otamure bay a couple days ago and we walked the reserve track then went right form there to some rocks but we didn't get many bites it was low tide and new moon so am not sure if otamure bay is a good fishing spot or not maybe we did something wrong
Hey mate, it's a great spot but probably best with a kayak. Rock fishing would be most productive at the change of light as the bay is quite shallow. I've seen some good snapper being caught right off the rocks by the campsite.
It's a dream kayak siren 10.5 Unfortunately they don't seem to sell them anymore in NZ. Torpedo 7 used to sell a similar pedal kayak. It seems difficult to get a pedal kayak these days.
@@Fishingreminder cheers thought it was a Hobie there is a place on the north shore that I have seen advertise pedal kayaks wavepassion_nz has them for $1,499 fish master elite4 I have 1 but didn't get the pedal version wish I did kow
What's the deal with everyone wanting to spill the beans on spots and locations to everyone? Why can't people go find there own spot x instead of being spoon feed! Now all the gems are getting thrashed....well played nottt!
Good to see all the beautiful spots again after one year
Thanks

What time of year were you at spirits bay?
that particular time was in November. But fishing up there is awesome all year round.

This vid will upset a lot of locals. Great way to get everyone to cram in and overfish.
just post mate!
