Went on it yesterday with my 7 year old. We were lucky enough to be at the front. The video doesn’t do this ride justice. It’s sooo fast and totally epic. Had my hands on the air the whole time and loved it! It was my daughter’s first rollercoaster and I couldn’t have been a more proud dad to be on there with her.

Went on this for the first time last week and let me tell you, this is so god damn fast. Not only does the rollercoaster go like what 44mph? The experience also happens so quickly. Doesn’t even feel like over a minute imo

That's not even that fast. I've been on Goliath and six flags great America and it's wooden coaster and it goes 74 miles per hour
@@DARK_AMBIGUOUS I don't think you appreciate the feat of engineering it takes to get that kind of speed out of a rollercoaster that can't be built above the tree line. At Alton Towers, the designers have always been restricted to keeping the tracks below tree height (for various environmental reasons). They don't have the ability to build massive lift hills and simply drop the coaster so that it picks up a huge amount of speed.

Definitely the best ride I’ve ever been on out of several countries. It feels 3x faster than it looks on video, each of what look like little bumps have stomach drops, the music is pounding and goes right through you. It’s incredible.
I went on here today, it was my first ever rollercoaster! Do NOT underestimate how fast it goes, I was struggling for breath lol so I started singing💀

literally it was also my very first ride from alton, this ride was SO fast i had to hold on so tight and felt like i was gonna pass out
It was my first ride when I went last week. First proper coaster in well over a decade, and I was NOT disappointed. It felt so, so quick. I mean, I loved The Smiler and I'll always have a real soft spot for Nemesis, but this was without doubt my favourite ride.

We stupidly did Alty Towers in the holidays yesterday 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ and they're the 3 (!) roller coasters we did.
@@katiejackson7452 oh no! That's not good. I went on 20th Sept and did 13 rides. Could easily have done more too. Mind you, I was on my own so was literally hopping on and off Thr Smiler with their single rider queue.
Not always easy to do with groups, I know, but if you can do it term time...do. you'll get decent value for it.

Could not recommend this ride enough this rollercoaster blew my socks off
I am a 13 year old that just rode the ride today. It's my second roller coaster ride in my life, and this thing looks not so fast. But when you go on the ride, totally different story. The turns are pretty sharp and the speed literally is almost at top speed for the whole ride. So much fun though, I absolutely love and enjoyed the experience.

Been on it 4 times in last 2days trip to Alton towers,still ain't enough,I'm definitely for it next summer!Amazing Atmosphere & huge area of the ride
..drops you down like 10 times..20 times more impact & speed than shown in videos.Wicker Man shop not to be missed..exquisite stuff!
I'm 9 and this was my first roller coaster
Also ppl who don't like stomach drops just lean the opposite way it helps
:) and if u put the speed to 1.75 thats how fast it feels like when you go on it this was my favourite ride in alton towers
Also the one that gives most stomach drops in my opinion is dablade ,nemesis and oblivion when they go down

It feels double the speed it look here, on a slow day. Give it a bit of rain and it's blistering...
Went to Alton Towers for the first time earlier this year and out of the rides I went on, this was probably my favourite. It feels so fast when you're on it and it's just a lot of fun. Even as someone who's terrified of most roller coasters (I only went on this, Runaway Mine Train and Th13teen and chickened out of Galactica) I ended up loving it.

Was always an oblivion fan, but after going on this over the last two days, Wicker man has gone to number one. Videos can’t get across how fast it is.
I cant imagine how friggin cool this coaster would be at night.

I've done it, definitely a must ride if you ever go when you can stay until dark
The lighting at night from the fire is soo good
also try thi3teen bc there are no lights and you can't see which is fun
Went on near the end of the afternoon at Scarefest and I was surprised how fast it felt and how rough some of the turns were. The 'big' coasters felt a lot gentler!
To say you get thrown about on this ride is an understatement 😂 it's SO fast
rode this for the first time on sunday and i think it's going in my top faves. Knew about the ride but i didn't expect the pre show and was blown away !! theming and attention to detail at AT feels amazing

wicker man is so much faster than it looks but such an amazing ride, easily one of my favourites
This ride is terrific. To all the people who think it’s ’super fast’ or ‘super scary’ it’s really not. I just went on it and it’s only a couple little drops. Your tummy goes a little but not a lot. Overall this ride is amazing and definitely not that scary. For those who are wondering, before you go on the ride, there is a little bit you go in and there is a screen and it shows you the story of the wicker man and it’s dark. 🎉😊

I remember watching a wicker man pov video not long after it came out, this was about 1 month before I went to Alton towers for scarefest, and thinking “wow! This doesn’t look to bad, rather slow actually.” That your wrong. This is such a fun ride but don’t underestimate it’s speed.

Went on this yesterday, DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE HOW FAST IT IS!! Rollercoasters always look slower on camera

Wow, going on the wicker man was really terryfing but i was still happy that it was already over, i still couldn't believe i went on the wicker man, my friends forced me to go on it and i didn't want to be left out so i had to do it and went on the wickerman,
on of my fav rides there by far,on the big drops it feels amazing 🤩

This is the first big coaster I've ever been on and I'm happy to say I kept my eyes open the entire time! LOL, I did nemesis reborn, galactica, Rita, 13 etc after

I took my daughter in wicker . I thought it’s very easy to ride as my daughter scared of the rides but 😂😂😂 it was so fast . I was trying to keep my daughter awake and comforting her 😂😂 poor her even couldn’t scream 😅

When I went on this I was screaming “THIS IS WORSE THAN RITA” I didn’t realise how fast it went! But end of the day I love it

Awww I remember that drop before it dropped I said “this is the drop!”
I wish some parts were changed. Like the un banked turn before making your 3rd and final intertwine with big bob. They could have made that a 90° banked turn. Also, they could have had the exit prior to the station so when the empty trains come in its like you have actually been sacrificed to the Wickerman. Apart from that tho i rlly think its a good solid ride. ❤

Wicker man is amazing the pre show and everything is absolutely spot on I went on it twice the last time I was at towers in April one thing IT IS WAY FASTER THAN IT LOOKS AND I MEAN THAT HONES THE FIRST TIME I WENT ON IT I DID NOT ENJOY IT AT ALL but once you are used to it it’s such a great time

Deffo in my top 3 alton towers rides ...doesn't look much untill you actually get on it ,it's a different ball game then it is rapid, coupled with the bit leading up to getting on the ride the hologram etc it's all in all a cracking ride

Wickerman is so fast I always watched this pov thinking it wasn’t that bad went on today and screamed so much I was not expecting it I couldn’t even tell what was happening and at one point felt like I was gonna fly out my seat 😭 found it scarier than galactica lol

It’s new, basically at the end there’s a wall and it’s a ghost like figure similar to thirteen we were stuck there for like 3 minutes and creepy music played and I thought we would drop but it was fine it just made us go forward again and the wall opened revealing the station

Went on this twice in a row in November as the day I went there was virtually no queues whatsoever
Just so people know wicker man is WAYY faster and intense then it looks, especially in the back row, best ride at towers (I haven't ridden nemesis it was being retracked)
Okay so I was 11 when I first went on this it was my first ever coaster and I said in the queue line “omg that looks so slow”when we went through the tunnel I screamed “I AM DYING”
This ride is best ridden with no knowledge of it what so ever! 😂

Seriously Alton Towers missed a trick not hooking up with Iron Maiden to promote this ride when it opened back in 2018.
Lmaooo such a good song, listened to it the night before I went to towers. Shame they didn't get in contact. IMAScore still did an amazing job on the soundtrack as usual though.

When I went Alton towers as a school trip, it went much faster than it looks. It was very scary.

I went the other day, I have to say it was quite thrilling. I would have gone on it again if not for the time. I couldn't find the smiler so I had to pick this. I literally got sacrificed lol
