  • So I finally purchased a rear wheel centering kit for my Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk. I've been running my Trailhawk with the Hazard Sky 2" Lift and Falken Wildpeak AT3W 265 70 17s for several months without the spacers. I decided after installing the spacer kit that I didn't really need it personally. I wasn't having any rub issues with my rear wheels so it wasn't really needed. I was expecting a little more centering of the tire out of it. I ended up with about a 1/2" of corrective movement. If my tires had been another 1/4" to 1/2" wider then this would have been a much needed.
    Hope this video is helpful to anyone looking into installing the centering kits. I've got plenty off stuff planned for the future so stay tuned and thanks for watching!

    Falken Wildpeak at3w 265/70 17's I bought. Great price and cheaper than any other size/brand I could find. Also, a lot of great reviews: amzn.to/2C57r5B
    Kinco work gloves I like to use: amzn.to/3giOj30
    Craftsman tool set: amzn.to/3gigwqL
    Yakima Load Warrior Roof Rack: amzn.to/3gfakQa
    GoPro Hero 7 was the main shooter for this video: amzn.to/2ZAEExU
    Camera/Phone Tripod the bendy one: amzn.to/2BmWEnD
    Camera/Phone Mount that extends. This one has been working pretty good for me. It's a cheap one so you get what you pay for but good starting point if you want a tripod and aren't too picky: amzn.to/2VArbVR

    Thank you so much for this video, you’ve actually inspired me to lift my kL but didn’t know how until I saw your other videos and as I was looking at parts I saw they had a centering wheel kit but no one has information on how it’s installed so thank you for being the first one. Thank you for the great videos.

    I was the same way...not many install vids out there...i am bad about forgetting to take video of stuff until AFTER i had done it. I have soo much half-install footage its sad...
    But i will say, if you ALREADY have the dobs suspension on it, it is NOT that simple to install these. When i would try to raise the control arm to ease the tension...it would just lift the whole car! And then when i got the bolt out to get the spacer in, the linkage mount had shifted rear-ward and it was all i could do to get the bolt lined back up in the hole. I spent about 2 hours messing with it in my driveway. I ended up having a shop re-do it for me.

      I just had to loosen up the bolts where the spacers go and used a crow bar to pry the trail arm forward. When you loosen those bolts their's a lot of pressure you have to make sure you have it lined back up properly when you tighten them up.

    Do them spacers actually centre the wheel, or just centre the drag-link..? It seems that they only lower the link, and not really move it in a rearwards way.

    • @MootsKLAdventure
      @MootsKLAdventure  4 роки тому

    • @MootsKLAdventure
      @MootsKLAdventure  3 роки тому +1

      Basically just came down to loosening the bolts where the spacers go. Then tried to get as much pressure as possible off of the bracket and bolts. Then took a crow bar and pried on it to line the bolts up properly. Overall the best you'll get is about 1/4" of change with the centering kits.
