This is the best series you guys ever had. I say this because its easy to understand what you guys are doing to a non-mechanic person. The way you describe things is perfect. Makes me feel like I could do it even though i know for a fact that i cant.
Right at the end, I spotted your problem. You have really bad camber angle. When you turn the wheel, it is actually lifting the contact patch of the tire off the ground. That ain't good. You can fix it by cutting the axle from the bottom up, nearly all the way through, bend it back closed, then weld it. You may have to do it two or three times before you finally get it.Prob wouldn't hurt if it had some caster angle to Also, You're gonna need steering stops. It over steers really bad. I'm enjoying watching this. It's cool watching you guys "eyeing" things.
Looking pretty stealth boys! looks like a racer for sure. maybe steering wheel has to be a little bit bigger to steer a little bit easier? As for the front end steering linkage? "It'll be fine" lol, great tag line!
I think you should use some upside-down carriage bolts in the middle body mount so it won't dig into the ground if you go over any bumps. Awesome build, I love it.
mounting the rear axle further back, say a few inches behind the wagon itself, would shift a lot of the rider weight to the front tires. If you haven't hacked the extra frame off the back yet, it might be a good thing to try. Love the build so far though - good luck with your fix!
Normally go carts with a beam axle have some weird front end geometry that results in "wheel jacking" which lifts the inside rear wheel when you turn the steering wheel. But she'll be right! Loving the videos, looks rad!
Yeah and it follows up with the whole "rat rod" theme. Also when you put the predator on it'd me cool to spray paint the tank the same color warn out red as the wagon
Tons of cheap Chinese electric motors used for industrial fans and stuff. Tie that to a few car batteries in relay and it would be awesome. May not have the top speed of a predator, but you'd beat just about everything off the line since you don't need a clutch
Great video as usual thing is coming together great. I'm happy that you guys went with the axel setup u wanted not the viewers don't let our comments change your whole idea of what you want to do. :)
CarsandCameras Nice video guys, I like the progression of the Go Kart Modding.I have a suggestion that I hope you guy's don't mind. Why don't you make it more like a motor bike in a sense, an have the accelerator an clutch on the steering wheel.I think that it would look great. Also adding an exaust to that would make it sound cooler too!
just a thought, why did you need the donor kart? and maybe try slowing up the steering by shortening the arm coming off the shaft at the front... all in all I love this series
Maybe smaller diameter wheels up front? That way even though the weight distribution doesn't move, you elevate the rear weight compared to front. That slight downward angle should give more weight to the front. As of now, it looks like the front wheels are as tall or a tad taller than the rear. So currently, you are trying to turn while constantly doing a slight wheelie.
If you made foot pegs on the side of the frame closer to the front of the wagon to get your weight of your legs more forward and it would help the steering also
You should get a license plate to slap on the back of it that says "It'll B fine" and get a small keg to put on the front to give it weight and give it a rat rod look
You guys are cool for sure need your own TV show on discovery cars and cameras it'll be fine this time really build the predator billet rod and flywheel mod2 cam mukuni carb and curved intake. Stinger header that will go with the rat rod theme well. But please I can't wait to see it built.
Don't think weight in the front will make a huge difference because of the solid axle and huge contact patch in the back. That being said if you have enough power to break the rear wheel loose it'll steer just fine.
You guy's oughtta look into Ackerman geometry. You're likely running into steering issues due to the lack of the proper Ackerman angle on the steering arms
Hi guys, I have this old go cart that is only one wheel drive sort of like Taylor's but mine has a jack shaft in between the motor and the sprocket. While I was watching this part I was wondering if you guys would make a video with taylors cart showing how to convert to live axle, so I could do it to mine as well.
Do u guys live in luisiana?? I have a luisiana truck licencingplate on my 150cc atv, and i live in norway! And the atv is'nt road legal anyway so it is mostly for irony... I noticed the licencingplate on you motorcycle...
CarsandCameras like you said it needs more front grip, but if the front wheels still don't work, A set of duellies (sry about spelling. what im talking about is another set of tyres fixed to the front ones.) might do the job and look cool........
my rat rod wagon is almost finished i used a frame off of a kid traxx dodge ram 3500 the engine is a Briggs Flathead and the wheels came off of some old push mowers
If the axle was the same hight, but further back (meaning rear of the tub), then it would hardly better by applying more weight in front of the axle instead of on it. The sucky part is, you guys already cut into the tub.
think this thing would be sick with 2 engines ... one driving one side one drives the other ... at least then shell turn cuase u could cut the live axle in half and have the driver position llower as well
Hey my 15th birthday is coming up and I want a go kart or a mini bike but my parents won't let me get one. They think it's to dangerous. Any advice? I love your videos!
Hayden Miller Well, they are dangerous. However, with the correct gear and place to ride, they can be significantly less dangerous. Having a flat, open field with plenty of runoff area would be the ideal place to ride, and a good helmet and neck brace would be the best safety gear. These karts generally don't flip, especially on a flat surface.
Ask them what they think is dangerous about them and make a list, then go through the list and resolve every issue with a solution like seat belt or helmet or roll cage and then approach them again with your solutions
Hey guys i got a ? i did a pulley swap on my Ranch King tractor its not going as fast as i wanted it too would you know how to do a Engine pulley swap ?
Isaac Jennette Oh, OK, thanks. Probably 1018, Cold rolled steel. 1045, is actually better for axles, from what I have read, for axles. Just curious for a future project, thanks.
Isaac Jennette You guys are doing fine. I was just curious, and Cold Rolled will be fine because you aren't stressing anything. You aren't jumping it. It'll be fine.
This is the best series you guys ever had. I say this because its easy to understand what you guys are doing to a non-mechanic person. The way you describe things is perfect. Makes me feel like I could do it even though i know for a fact that i cant.

You need to make an "It'll be fine" sticker, haha :D
It'll be faaan
It might even make a DSM reliable...
Looking pretty stealth boys! looks like a racer for sure. maybe steering wheel has to be a little bit bigger to steer a little bit easier? As for the front end steering linkage? "It'll be fine" lol, great tag line!
This is sooo painful to watch knowing how this project turns out through it's many modifications. Lots of fun watching these old videos.
I think you should use some upside-down carriage bolts in the middle body mount so it won't dig into the ground if you go over any bumps. Awesome build, I love it.
I always get excited when a new episode come out. Love the wagon!
mounting the rear axle further back, say a few inches behind the wagon itself, would shift a lot of the rider weight to the front tires. If you haven't hacked the extra frame off the back yet, it might be a good thing to try.
Love the build so far though - good luck with your fix!
You should just make it a drag wagon (dragon)
Normally go carts with a beam axle have some weird front end geometry that results in "wheel jacking" which lifts the inside rear wheel when you turn the steering wheel. But she'll be right!
Loving the videos, looks rad!
Keep it going guys. I think "It'll be fine". You should make a shirt for that. :)
The lockness monster😂😂😂😂 I laugh so hard!
Idea, weld the bolts to the hubs make tire changes a lot easier
You could put led blocks on the front to sorta fix the steering/ weight ratio issue
You should spray the out side off the wheels white walls
Please do it. Would be so sexy.
Yeah and it follows up with the whole "rat rod" theme. Also when you put the predator on it'd me cool to spray paint the tank the same color warn out red as the wagon
Defo
Henry Bennett yeah and then put a haggard garage sticker on while you're at it
Engine in the front? this is going to be ultimate drift toy!
Looking awesome guys. That thing is gonna be a looker no matter how it performs.
mike comstock thanks dude
After watching so many of your videos, I never knew y'all were here in NC.
+MrBrennanCreeper i love nc
I love it too, just wish I could find more interesting stuff to do
Thats awesome that you guys are just up in washington! im right here in jacksonville.
You should try making a electric go kart. Tons of torque
Tons of gay
just no !
Peter Pawlak It'd work out to be moderately expensive, unfortunately. Forklift motor and a big fat lithium.
Tons of cheap Chinese electric motors used for industrial fans and stuff. Tie that to a few car batteries in relay and it would be awesome. May not have the top speed of a predator, but you'd beat just about everything off the line since you don't need a clutch
Expensive and electric go karts suck
This is beginning to look awesome!!!
i like how you did the live axle
Great video as usual thing is coming together great. I'm happy that you guys went with the axel setup u wanted not the viewers don't let our comments change your whole idea of what you want to do. :)
Nice. I like how those two pieces in the back look kind of like exhaust pipes
Alex Brandt we are cutting those off and probably putting duals on it
when are you going to show part 5??
building a go kart my self and making it pretty similar, loving the series so far
that thing is going to be epic! Cant wait until it is finished! and on a side note, glad I'm not the test pilot lol.
cant wait to see u guys drag race that thing
MAKE A FRONT ENGINED REAL WHEEL DRIVE GO KART!
That's what this is
Yooo can't wait for the next video this is very helpful cause I'm looking to do something along these lines keep up the good videos
You guys better get some clear coat on that thing before it rots away
If you would've mounted the axle further back it might have helped the steering. I'm ready to see the finished product.
Do the go carts that you guys drive do any damage to your yard or the grass in your yard?
CarsandCameras Nice video guys, I like the progression of the Go Kart Modding.I have a suggestion that I hope you guy's don't mind. Why don't you make it more like a motor bike in a sense, an have the accelerator an clutch on the steering wheel.I think that it would look great. Also adding an exaust to that would make it sound cooler too!
***** I think that's what we're going with! Thanks for the suggestion.
Can you guys please do a video of the brake system on the racing go kart when this project is done because I have something similar
Put weights on the front? makes sense
The engine will make it heavier
just a thought, why did you need the donor kart? and maybe try slowing up the steering by shortening the arm coming off the shaft at the front... all in all I love this series
Maybe smaller diameter wheels up front? That way even though the weight distribution doesn't move, you elevate the rear weight compared to front. That slight downward angle should give more weight to the front.

You should make a sticker that says "it will be fine" and sell them
You should get a license plate to slap on the back of it that says "It'll B fine" and get a small keg to put on the front to give it weight and give it a rat rod look
wait was that a subie in the back around 11:23 with the silver wheels
You guys are cool for sure need your own TV show on discovery cars and cameras it'll be fine this time really build the predator billet rod and flywheel mod2 cam mukuni carb and curved intake. Stinger header that will go with the rat rod theme well. But please I can't wait to see it built.
Josh Martin Hahaha thank you. I want to build a fast Predator soon...
A live rear axel will make it drift round corners I'm sure you know a lot more about go karts than me but this should be interesting
Don't think weight in the front will make a huge difference because of the solid axle and huge contact patch in the back. That being said if you have enough power to break the rear wheel loose it'll steer just fine.
Alexander Clark thats what im thinking (hopeing)
MORE VIDEOS get vlogs of u at work or driving around in the miata plz plz plz plz
great video excited to see what happens next
Finaly... rat rod wagon pt4
You guy's oughtta look into Ackerman geometry. You're likely running into steering issues due to the lack of the proper Ackerman angle on the steering arms
And some kind of diff would be good. From a Lawnmower or an atv.
Do you if you could do a step by step video of how to remove the governor on the predator 212cc engine? It would be really helpful.
Isaac looks like the one guy from welder up garage show.
I have been waiting for this part omg
Hi guys, I have this old go cart that is only one wheel drive sort of like Taylor's but mine has a jack shaft in between the motor and the sprocket. While I was watching this part I was wondering if you guys would make a video with taylors cart showing how to convert to live axle, so I could do it to mine as well.
jesse sweetland just keep a eye out. we have a live axle on the way for taylors cart
That should be your catchphrase or slogan! "It'll be fine" aha you
Should!
Looks great!
How are you guys gonna go about doing the jackshaft?
have you guys considered going to a motorcycle salvage yard and getting a motorcycle engine for a go kart?
U should try to make some kind of wide body fender for the rear tire
you should put Taylor's axle set up on the wagon and use the live axle on his
I need to learn shit, I want to do this
Whats up zack i watch all your videos u maf funny
jahson dindyal :D
hey what's good zack
@@ZackGoes 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Why didn't you mount the rear wheels/pillow blocks after the tub?
When you turn with the live axle does the cart shake
you guys are awesome tho I am currently fixing up a manco eliminator ss meant to have a 5hp Ima throw a 10 or 15 on it lol
Put the pillow blocks on the bottom under the frame rails.
Need to post more often.
Dual side mounted exhaust pipes, one on each side of the tub? :)
kicks on fleek ike 😂😂
From down here in Rockingham NC. Where yall boys at?
Do u guys live in luisiana?? I have a luisiana truck licencingplate on my 150cc atv, and i live in norway! And the atv is'nt road legal anyway so it is mostly for irony... I noticed the licencingplate on you motorcycle...
Perfect opportunity to put a heavier preadator v twin in it
How about some wheelie bars to force the front end down..... just an idea
Nice Enkei's @11:23 in the background. Is that a 240?
kylelc17 Negative- it is an NC Miata. But thanks!
CarsandCameras like you said it needs more front grip, but if the front wheels still don't work, A set of duellies (sry about spelling. what im talking about is another set of tyres fixed to the front ones.) might do the job and look cool........
will it not turn due to having so much grip at the back and no Diff to help it come around?
That's how I seen it O.O
looks fun though!
karl frost and most of the weight is on back, depending on your size
You should try to put bigger tires in the front maybe they will grip better
my rat rod wagon is almost finished i used a frame off of a kid traxx dodge ram 3500 the engine is a Briggs Flathead and the wheels came off of some old push mowers
Pretty sweet man
they should get the big predator motor to put on it that would add weight to the front end to
If the axle was the same hight, but further back (meaning rear of the tub), then it would hardly better by applying more weight in front of the axle instead of on it. The sucky part is, you guys already cut into the tub.
By any chance do u have a set of back wheels your will to sell. Thats all I need for my go kart and brakes, but who needs those
We're is the slo mo drifting from the $50 go kart testing video?
To test it u should have put a cider block on the front
Build some half wheel fenders
Pretty cool.
use verry large predaor on it, and it will be fine, if not skinnyer rear tyres are an option :D
think this thing would be sick with 2 engines ... one driving one side one drives the other ... at least then shell turn cuase u could cut the live axle in half and have the driver position llower as well
Just checked for part 4, then get update saying it was posted....
These karts generally don't flip, especially on a flat surface.
you can ask your parents if It's OK to get one with a roll cage in case of a rollover crash.
Ask them what they think is dangerous about them and make a list, then go through the list and resolve every issue with a solution like seat belt or helmet or roll cage and then approach them again with your solutions
have to change the caster and scrub radius so it turns better... it not the front will just push through turns
You should make the predator engine look like the mock up engine
Can u guys add camber to the front two wheels plz?!
Just no it's a rat rod wagon not gay wagon
Ben Spartans we probably will add camber. it was only supposed to do 10 mph. but you know we gotta go fast.
what welder do you use?
To make it have waight on the front put the moter on the grunt than run the chain to the back
How long will it take for another vid
What are the bearings call on the back axel
Would u guys sell one of ur go karts can I have some feedback should I get a mini bike or a go kart
man how many cars you have there?
Mad understeer yo
Hey guys i got a ? i did a pulley swap on my Ranch King tractor its not going as fast as i wanted it too would you know how to do a Engine pulley swap ?
Hi guys. What type of metal is the axle made of? Is it 1045 steel?
Shawn Schrader im not shure. i just went to the metal shop and asked for 1 in steel bar for a axle
Isaac Jennette Oh, OK, thanks. Probably 1018, Cold rolled steel. 1045, is actually better for axles, from what I have read, for axles. Just curious for a future project, thanks.
we are all new at this stuff and we are not perfect. but we are having fun
Isaac Jennette You guys are doing fine. I was just curious, and Cold Rolled will be fine because you aren't stressing anything. You aren't jumping it. It'll be fine.
I live in nc too
