The trucks that skip the weight stations probably have drivewyze on there Qualcomm. And depending on your company if there setup with it aswell then the Qualcomm will tell you either go into the station or bypass it
I was going to comment this, Schneider Tanker here, can confirm. But you have to pay attention either way, some of the weighstations don't support it so you pull in... Or the four or five states where you're pulling hazmat that you MUST pull into regardless of weight.

My one regret is that I never tagged along with him just for the experience and spending time with him. He has since passed away and that is one thing I would definitely do differently, if I could have a do-over! You be safe and thanks for getting the goods where they belong!
It’s awesome seeing a fellow trucker’s experience daily lol. we have the same problems with garmin, im haitian so the accent makes it so much harder to tell her what i want her to do😂 My company(Steven’s Transportation) says that it will learn my voice over time and get better. 4 years later, still struggling😭😭😭😭
For the trucks that passed they probably have a pre pass device, the scale on the highway weighs the truck an prepass relays the info to the scale house an allows us to bypass
Okay so those two guys probably got bypassed. Every scale sign will say “must pull in” but you always follow your DriveWyze and pre/ez pass. If you get bypassed you do not have to pull in. DOT scales are never calibrated ever.
1:25 . I feel your pain bro. How many times haven't i yelled at my sat nav yet no success ... They should make the sat navs mics a bit more sensitive so they can pick up the stuff you tryin' to tell them.
When driving all day always look at it as “11 to drive, 3 to jive”…if u start your day at 5am, start taking time from your 3 to jive…everything else calculated from your 11 to drive…The key for me is don’t stop for anything that won’t take 30ms to do…that way you can always keep tab on your time by resetting that 8 to break clock…go off duty for EVERYTHING…even fueling…it’s legal to do that now…you can put in 5 mins or on duty for pickups and drop offs but REST THAT 8 to Break!!!…it’ll change your life
Just an FYI (for others who may not know this)… A ‘PrePass’ transponder in the truck’s cab, alerts those equipped with one, when it may (or may not) bypass a particular weigh station… those other mentioned trucks aren’t arbitrarily deciding whether they’re gonna stop or just blow past them… they were alerted to do so.🚦
You have a prepass for the scales on your windshield...if it's not flashing red or green at scales, call your permits people and get a new one. No reason to cross scales if you don't have to. I get a green light 95% of the time at scales to bypass.
Some truckers like me have something called Prepass and it turns green and beeps and we get to bypass the weight station or red and also beeps if we have to pull into to the weight station.
You'd think Garmin would make the mics better on these GPS devices knowing they're going to be used inside a noisy cab of a semi,I have the same issue with my Garmin Dezl, have to almost yell at the top of my lungs for it to hear commands. Lol
I wish Google maps would have a setting where it lets you put what type of vehicle you driving for example a semi truck and it automatically gives you truck routes
0:32 if that’s near Joliet, IL i know exactly where that spot is. Friggin has had potholes with spotty fillings for literally 10 years or more. Welcome to Illinois
In my country we have automatic weight scales on certain parts of the highway with a camera taking a picture. Makes it so the trucks that aren't overweight don't have to stop.
My truck has drivewize , it communicates with the weigh station and I'll get a message if I can bypass the weigh station or not,, I use to think the same thing when I first started, but when I switched companies I was happier,, now instead of going into every weigh station, I get to bypass at least half😉
Is your prepass not working? I barely get the red light to go into the weight stations. Also the company reimburses you for showers and many other things you pay for. Just have to Transflow the receipts.
Yeah my pre-pass works but there was a sign that said "all trucks over 10k lbs must weigh". Yeah they reimburse me for showers but I'd rather just get a free shower than having to go through the whole reimbursement process
@@ALEXTHETRUCKINGGUY the 10k is in general. The the prepass trumps it. The only thing the prepass doesn't trump is hazmat. If a sign says hazmat must enter then you have to enter even if you get the green light.

Hey Alex! So we have a wonderful Loves in my area that I visit frequently during fishing trips (I tend to go out fishing at around 1PM and stay out until about 9AM the next day) They have the best hotdogs and their service is always amazing. It's nice to get a hotdog late at night when you've been out on the water all day. Another story for you since I heard how excited you got about Chester's chicken. When I was working with my brother picking up garbage around our area (we drove a Chevy 2500 with a 32 foot fenced trailer, not as big as a semi but not a small truck either) we would stop at our local truck stop for Chester's chicken.
