I’ve had some great cars over the years but I loved my 4AGE SX hatch and was sorry to see it go ( over 20 years ago).

sounds amazing. 4age is the best sounding 1.6 hands down. that intake howl is unbeatable! side note. you also have to love how much fun you can have at such low speeds. looks like you're not breaking the speed limit by much and still WORKING the engine. i really miss my fx16...not quite the civic siR, but definitely on the same level
YES!! This is the kind of driving I absolutely love. We have a ton of great roads like this here in NZ and this is the kind of driving I cut my teeth on. I also had an AE82 FX-GT hatch back in the day. Absolutely brilliant cars. Some punks stole mine but I sure have some fond memories of that little beast. Great video! 👍

I love mine. 87 FX16 GT-S (AE82 GT in Europe, FX-GT in Australia)...quite rare in the United States. Mine has whiteline adjustable sway bars. MRP coilovers. Buddy Club 15x6.5 p1 sf wheels with 195/50/15 tires +35 offset (needs +30 or less offset for better clearance though in the rear), mild aftermarket cams, lighter flywheel, lighter cam sprockets, short shifter, 4-2-1 headers with heat wrap, 3mm wheel spacers all around (without spacers in front clearance would be better at the expense of handling though), and other stuff to facilitate the flow of exhaust gases. It's not a fast car by modern standards, but what it lacks in speed it more than makes up for in the "fun" (handling and driving) department. With the changes my car has undergone, the car would do better on light track or autocross duty than on the road..it's a car and engine that want to be driven...yeah, it's that much fun to drive that it's hard to have fun on regular roads without accidentally calling too much attention to yourself if you know what I mean...just look at this video ;)

God I wish all engine videos were done like this. 80% runs on reasonably flat, twisty roads with a lot of accelerating and decelerating, need for shifting, tight corners and even the occasional stop.
That's very sad to hear. There are some nice curvy roads where i live too but they are getting worse and worse in condition and i doubt some of those roads never get new pavement. Winter and salting of roads etc. does its job. Pot holes here and there but mostly in decent condition. This is our local Nurburgring: ua-cam.com/video/txnTa7HVUI0/v-deo.html
