Fun pattern for my NICU babies. I have been donating to our local NICU since'07. After the passing of a granddaughter '05 and son in '07. It helps my heart❤ Thank you for the pattern! aka nana
Am a big cat lover. AT this point in my life I don't have a real cat. Am making this Floppy Ear quilt. Love these kitties. Having fun making this wonderful quilt. Thanks for the wonderful pattern & video!!!!
Thank you so much! It's so great to hear you loved the tutorial and that is was easy to understand. We hope you can make this super fun quilt soon. See you again soon!😍
😍😍So sorry I am just catching this .I am trying to catch up on the comments. Hope to do better in the future. Thanks for watching our lives. We appreciate it !!!!!!
I love this quilt pattern and your teaching methods are spot-on! I searched all of the comments to see if anyone else had this question: What is the finished dimensions of the four-cat block? What are the unsashed dimensions for each cat? Thank you for your help. I am trying to make a wall hanging for a relative who loves cats.
Hi. I love your pattern with the floppy ears. I had just started a cat quilt but after watching your video I've changed my whole design 😂 Thank you for sharing!
What a cute quilt!! I loved the chicken and now I love the cat too. I think this will be a project to do with my granddaughter. She loves her cats. Thanks for the great tutorial.
i'm here again; decided to do your kitties because your instructions were so easy and helpful (because of your colored detailed steps); i understand you can use one piece as head/body rectangle to make it quicker. Loved your fabrics!

Adorable quilt & great demo. You always make your tutorials look so easy. I do have one question, why do you use a square & a rectangle for the body & head? Couldn't I just cut one piece & avoid the extra seam? Thanks for the fun quilt.
Hello! The reason behind using two pieces of fabric is to add a little definition between the head and body of the cat- its hard to see in the video but makes a difference in person. Either way you make it, it will come out great. Thank you for watching!

Love this quilt, thanks for show8ng us how to do it. I would suggest to keep the main body piece and top body piece as one part. Saves a cut and later on a seam.
I noticed the pattern says 4’ wide for the part that has the ears but for it to line up with the rest of block it should be 4.5 inches. You said it in the video too but as i made my test block it did not line up. Great pattern i just had to tweak it a little.
Thanks for this great tutorial and pattern Teancum! Would you please tell me how much fabric is needed for the white/ background fabric, the sitting cats and the laying down cats? Thank you!
JP Baird you just have to be careful while quilting that one doesn’t get caught under foot , or that it doesn’t get quilted down in the wrong direction . Thanks for asking !

Firstly, thanks for this tutorial. However, one dimension in the pdf seems inaccurate. For example, for the standing cat the white piece for the ears is stated as 1-3/4" by 4" when it should be 4.5". Otherwise the length will not meet the 4.5" width for the body. I've not tried the sitting cat. Now I have to fix all the white pieces to make it 4.5".
Hello! We are sorry if there is a problem with the pattern. We do try to make everything as accurate and correct as possible. We hope it works for you! Thanks!
Thank you so much! The fabrics we used were from Trans-pacific textiles. They are called " New Asian Prints" . You can get them on our website! Sewyeahquilting.com!
Thank you for the information after I cut all the pieces. It was not fitting now I have to recut. They should have a correction if it needs to be corrected.
Thanks! Time for me to recut these. I only figured it out on my first cat. It’s consistently wrongly labeled in the PDF directions and the video at all points, but it needs to be 1.75”x4.5”.
As you can see we are behind on the replies. I am trying to catch up and stay that way. I hope you have found the answer to any questions you had and thanks for watching!

I do not have those dimensions on hand at the moment.
I love that you don’t precut the sashing but just trim it off after. So smart and much, much simpler.
Thanks, my sister is a cat person so it will be a cute quilt to make for her. Such a cute and easy pattern..

Adorable quilt & great demo. You always make your tutorials look so easy. I do have one question, why do you use a square & a rectangle for the body & head? Couldn't I just cut one piece & avoid the extra seam? Thanks for the fun quilt.
Bettie Frisby I was wondering the same thing, maybe so you can do the head a different colour? Didn’t really make sense to me.
Exactly what I came here to say. Why because the same fabric is used for the head and body? Plus it’s one more seam to match.
It's a quilt....you piece it ....

Read all the comments! No one asked! How do the floppy ears work out on the long arm? Love the pattern! Thanks!
JP Baird you just have to be careful while quilting that one doesn’t get caught under foot , or that it doesn’t get quilted down in the wrong direction . Thanks for asking !
This would be cute to make the horizontal sashes in a dark solid color to make it look like the kitties were sitting on a ledge.
Please can you explain why the red print for the body was in two pieces?
It is probably so the cat head shows more...my 2 cents!
Hey Lucy, Bertrand has the right idea. It just creates a little more definition between the head and the body up close. It is hard to see in the video, but in person it makes a difference! Have a great day! ~Take Care, Brody
I love the idea of this at block, especially one standing and one sitting. Do you have another simple block for a dog?
We don't currently have a pattern written for a dog, but I bet you could alter this pattern just slightly to get the effect! Just change the ears! A fun idea also would be to add a small floppy tail. Since dog tails are sometimes shorter than Cat tails, i think that could be cute.

Hello,
Correction is need for the standing cat. White piece 1 3/4" X 4" should be 1 3/4 X 4 1/2. Or is there a step I am missing. Please advise?
That's what I thought it should be 4 1/2 inches
Thank you for the information after I cut all the pieces. It was not fitting now I have to recut. They should have a correction if it needs to be corrected.
Thanks! Time for me to recut these. I only figured it out on my first cat. It’s consistently wrongly labeled in the PDF directions and the video at all points, but it needs to be 1.75”x4.5”.

How did you sew the cat ears up on the green border? Applique?
They are floppy ears and not sewn to the green.
They are not attached- they are 'Floppy' . Hope that makes sense. ~Take Care, Brody
