    New subscriber Brian. I posted what for me has been a fix for the KS 10 charging issue and one of the posters told me about you and said I should let you know. THE FIX: Place HA's in charger and leave there for 2 or more minutes, then unplug the charger. Green lights will blink 8 times ( I walk away at this point and brush my teeth or whatever. After a few minutes I plug the charger in and and done. Prior to this procedure I had charging failures regularly, since this routine (5-6 months) I've had one and that was likely due to trying to rush the procedure. Glad to hear there may be a fix, but I'm not feeling a crushing need to get the update, I will, but I have time. BTW, I'm guessing that this routine is likely creating a reset on a daily/nightly basis??? Glad I found you.

      It's so weird man, it seems like all of the hearing aids have issues with ALL of the phones. When you connect the hearing aids to the phone, it introduces a lot of potential problems. There's so many phones and updates and versions and apps. I can see why there's so many issues. What I can tell you is the iPhone definitely has the least amount of problems 100%

    Finally, a fix to these annoying charging issues!
    I have a call into my Costco store to see when I’ll be able to get my KS10’s updated.

    Hey Brian I discovered the KS10 fix 6 months prior to us breaking away from phonak in July of 2022 to all this debacle. After sending in an email to corporate how to fix the issue I was told that “we have engineers working on this already” so you should probably stay in your lane. Our HAC fixes nearly 100%in house and only send in for IWR if the battery is a complete fail indicated by the solid red light after the fix.
    Unfortunately even the replacement chargers are not fixed so the cause of the problem is still there. Soft reset and firmware update are step 2 and 3 of the “engineering” fix.
    The charger is what causes the intermittent charge and 90% of that is to the right HA. Next time you get one of these from a mbr fix the charger first, then do the reset, place the HA’s back into the charger to confirm fix. Flashing lights good. Then do firmware update. If a Solid red light battery is bad and the whole set should be sent in for replacement.
    When the new set comes back, fix the new charger then reset HA’s and do the firmware update if required during programming.

    I was wondering why I wasn't notified about this update. I got the KS10s about 18 months ago, and I last went in to Costco last October. I don't use them daily, only occasionally. But I saw your video and was surprised to hear about an update. I asked why they hadn't notified me, and they said, they don't. It's up to me to come in to find out about the update. Now I understand what hearing professionals mean when they say Costco offers very limited support. Not even an email? I get the impression that he didn't have the ability to reach out via email. They’re perfectly happy to update me, once I get in (I'm 3 hours away from there.)

    Thanks for this video, Costco keeps telling me I need to do a reset often on my KS10. Dang left one keeps doing what you explained.

      did they do the firmware update for you? If they did and you keep having this problem, take them back and get them replaced. You dont need to keep fooling around with this, it is costco's responsibility to make sure your hearing aid works and if it doesn't work, they need to replace or repair it. make sure they did the firmware update and if it still has issues, have them replace the HA and charger.

      @@HearingClub yes they did. Every time I call the Costco I purchased from I get run around about doing the reset. That's their go to every time.

    Costco was a big customer for Phonak and it makes sense that it would try to correct the charging problem.

      Right? I just wish they could have worked something out while they fixed the issue. I'm not sure exactly what went down but it wasn't good

    Had the software update installed. It was a game changer, for 2 days, and then back to the same charging issue. I love the hearing aids, but this problem has me wanting to toss them. The right hearing aid, no issue, it is always the left one. One a eeek the left one will fully charge. The rest of the time it charges only to 99%, then as you pull it from the charger the light changes to yellow and it the charge reading can be as low as 21% and as high as 70%. It is a very frustrating issue.

      Man... that sucks. I wonder if the phonak users have the same problem. I don't blame you and would feel the same way. Just take them back and have them replaced. I can tell you this...
      We no longer sell these due to this exact issue. If you continue having problems even after getting them replaced, ask for your money back or ask to exchange them for working hearing aids like the Jabras or Philips. If you have to keep getting these replaced, I would speak to the manager and say "look, I've had these replaced several times and I would really like a different, working set of hearing aids".
      But you WILL have to go through the process. Get them replaced, give them a chance, if you do this multiple times, im sure they will accommodate you if you have the history or repeatedly getting them replaced. Good luck!

    I called my Costco to schedule the update. They didn’t know anything about the update. Is there a reference number or something they could use to look it up?

      Tell them to check their memos! I’ve been doing several firmware updates and hard resets the last few weeks.

      No, you need to be a member and in my opinion, it’s well worth the 60.00 yearly fee to have great service for your hearing aids.

      well, the KS10's just have too many issues so I'm not really sure how to answer this. Personally, i like the jabra better.

      I get around 14 hours a day out of mine, and that includes a lot of streaming.
