One of the primary reasons for brain fog is cerebrovascular disease. This intermittently restricts blood supply to the brain on account of a leaky blood brain barrier.
Bloody Hell. I'm in the UK and was a Emergency Nurse before retirement.. I got Covid very badly in March 2020.. I have serious underlying health issues and now Long Covid and my Doctors here aren't any help... This just popped up and even though I have been following events since 2019 in Wuhan and follow other Clinicians on UA-cam, I've learnt more here than the last few year's. I have a little hope now. My sleep has always been poor and with PTSD from my time in the Airforce . I've been doing Crosswords like crazy to try to get my brain goin again. I now have a lead and I'm now on a mission. Thankyou so much..
I have Chronic fatigue syndrome which is a horrible disease, i can’t even sometimes turn over in my bed from extreme physical weakness. i recently learned leaky blood brain barrier could be a cause of CFS. unfortunately with CFS exercises worsens the symptoms and it can get bad enough that you won’t even have the energy to eat. i really hope we improve research in this part of medical science.
I had a grand mal seizure in July 2023 with that turned into three mini strokes and then I had three strokes in July of this year and I have been taking methylene blue and it’s amazing, my memory is a little bit affected from all the strokes, but I’m doing absolutely fantastic. I also gave it to my sister for Covid flu and she took it and got rid of it within days. Excellent product.
You've given me hope! Thank you. I took Adderall for a few months and when stopped taking it, within 2 months severe brain fog began. And it's been getting worse, causing ADHD symptoms to also worsen. All of my doctors including psychiatrist & neurologist act like they have no idea what this could be, meanwhile, millions of people are complaining of these same symptoms. How can I find a doctor who specializes in this type of practice, because my doctors are completely clueless?? What do I look for?
Look for either L. Ac. after their name or D. Hom. after their name. They both actually heal people. Avoid, if you can, m.d. ; they're ignoramus dope pushers. Please forgive me for being so blunt, but it's no joke, it's your life.

It's a long story, a lot of just suffering through it, I tried working out a lot but exertion made it worse, eventually I went keto not really knowing what I was doing but cutting out all sugar and processed foods and carbs cuz I knew it was the right thing to do, and after a couple of months of that and losing weight I discovered carnivore and went on a strict meat only diet and lost 45 pounds, I was at 200 which was way too much for me as a thin bone 138 lb from early twenties right on through till grad school in the thirties, so all in all I would really say going carnivore made the difference, eat all the meat I can stand at night, one meal a day, comad as I call it (carnivore one meal a day) and beef works the best, although I still eat any other kind of meat including processed meat, and if I get hungry for a snack I eat bacon and eggs, it's indescribable how well I feel now compared to what I used to, I used to walk 2 miles a day and worked out at the YMCA gym but I never lost any weight until I went on a meat only diet, now I'm running during about 40% of my walk of 2 miles every morning, first time I've run in over 20 years, I wish I had discovered the carnivore diet long before now, I'm 70 years old and counting, thank God!when it comes to long covid and vaccine injury which in my mind are pretty much impossible to distinguish between, the key is do not exert yourself even a little until you can build yourself up but the key for me again was carnivore@@RichardClutterbuck-zm5rb

Yes, very hard to accept when you go from annoying astute with photographic memory with a very high capacity to learn, learn quickly, store, encode, etc....then POOF covaidsmoldlymearsenic hits at once, you 'die' in in march 2020, and medical intervention was zero. It was scary, and there is a little PTSD over it because it was like being launched into seemingly rapid onset dementia with no progress, just rapid onset. Scary. The word "fog" is a total misnomer, unless my damage was just extreme.
Very good info. I do appreciate that you refer to chemo as an insult. I used to follow a naturopath named Dr Morse here on UA-cam. I learned a lot from him. He even did free iridology for a short time. He has since retired. Keep up the good work. Love & blessings to you & all. 😇
Mine was so so bad . I felt like less of a man. I couldn't think clearly at all, it was so frustrating. Went carnivore as an elimination diet. 5 months in I feel so great. Depression anxiety has gone away I can think so much more clearly. I can't even tell you how much I am ecstatic that I found about this
Cutting out all the hyper processed junk foods, sugar, seed oils, and especially in my case, everything else except for meat, my brain fog has drastically improved. Going carnivore was my last resort, and wish I had gone on it sooner.
carnivore made me worse since I needed rapid acting energy source.....also, too much all meat increases uric acid which is toxic. Balance - fruits, vegetables, meats, fish, water, electrolytes, prayer, service, patience, minerals, and get the &^^$ out of the system!
@@Dan0rioN I’ve heard of people having periods of time where they just can’t stop eating. It’s part of the process as your body is becoming more in tune with what it needs. Could also be that you weren’t eating enough fat. Having 70% to maybe even 90% of calories coming from fat could be what one needs to prime the body with the nutrients that it needs. Hope you find what works for you !
stop it depletes your calcium from your bones that was what i was doing for years no energy bad mistake try give up mine was processed phosphorus lose my calcium
How you exercise, what you eat, how you sleep, prayer, are ALL going to affect your brain function. Learn to perform the basic compound barbell lifts and push yourself so your lifting relatively heavy weights will greatly improve your overall health. Of course eating whole food and not eating processed food is a big one as well.

I always had neck problems! Brain fog, food sensitivities, pseudo allergies. No one knew what was wrong with me. So many doctors. Turns out: Pinched vagus nerve! For 15 years!! can even lead to leaky gut, which I do have! Maybe someone reads that and can benefit.
@florianwurm4220 Hi. I know it can be very frustrating not getting the proper diagnosis to many conditions. Wow, finally, a pinched vagus nerve for 15 years. Yes, because the gut-brain-axis involves the vagus nerve, a pinched vagus nerve can cause GI problems, like a leaky gut or even cause heart arrhythmias after eating or drinking--due to the vagus nerve involvement in both the gut and the heart. So, did the doctors treat your pinched vagus nerve and relieve some of the conditions you mentioned above? Thank you for sharing your story and feel better. Best wishes.
@johnmorgan7459 Hi.. you know, first, I never had brain fog like what the video is about. I was obese in 6/2022 and lost over 90 lbs by going on the ketogenic lifestyle and one meal a day fasting. What I inherited was a MTHFR-C677T polymorphism or genetic mutation, heterozygous. 30 to 50% of the population has this very common variant. They usually have methylation problems due to vitamin B9 (folate), B6, and Methylcobalamine B12 deficiency. And high homocysteine levels. So all I have to do is eat leafy greens ( kale, Arugula, broccoli, Brussels Sprouts) and take methylated B Complex vitamins. I feel fine and asymptomatic. As far as having cardiac arrhythmias or palpitations for a few minutes after I eat or drink, I know it's the vagus nerve that is causing it because it innervates both the gut and the heart. So I don't do anything about it. It doesn't really bother me. I hope your doctors were able to treat your pinched vagus nerve and your symptoms. Have a good day.
Thank you Dr. A! Very informative, as always. I really appreciate and respect your ability to distill down complex concepts in such a way that those of us who aren’t in the medical profession can understand them.
I keep a bottle of water by my bed so I can drink before going to sleep and when I wake up. Extending the hours of sleep has made such an immediate difference, instead of getting up at 4.30 a.m. Just a few more has helped overall.
Good stuff. I'm ADHD, possibly a touch autistic, an elder. Dememtia/Alzheimers/brain issues run in my family. My only sibling just passed from Parkinsons. I just wemt through covid... which made me somewhat delusional while in bed... I'm in recovery mode, have no motivation. I have always had sleep issues. Getting to sleep, staying asleep. I have to deal with anxiety, chronic depression. When I get 8+ hoirs of sleep, I'm a completely different human. I WILL NOT take pharma drugs. I am very sensitive to all drugs. When a youth experimenting with illegals, I'd do half of what the peers did and easily be twice as high... was the source of much ridicule. I went through every anti-depressant there is, and every single one was not only useless, they made things worse. What worked best was a gym membership. I still work out, and will once the covid residue subsides, and a modicum of motivation returns. I appreciare your supplement recommendations. I do take supplements, and have for decades. I'm just beginning choline sup's. I need motivation. Now retired, I've so much to do, I've lists of some rather major projects. At least I'm reasonably fit. Good video.

That took all white matter away and I woke up one day feeling 9 years younger in my brain. Soon after that I got reinfection of brain Fog. I got a L-Threonate maggasium that broke the brain blood barrier and it not as good but I had a little wake up so I know I getting better
Creatine and lots of animal based foods did wonders for me. I used to wake up everyday with insane headache and brain fog. Obv drink enough but i already did that

I am male, 24 years of age, and in the last 18 months my cognitive function has declined rapidly. Before I was highly capable & interested in learning, reading, studying, solving problems. All thats left is endless brain fog, impaired memory, no fluent speech, difficulty reading, ability to think about or imagine things is mostly gone, severe anhedonia. Ive experienced a very hard breakup, paired with a long excruciating existential crisis 1,5 years prior. my brain was not able to stop thinking, I were probably psychotic/schizophrenic before my cognition declined. Any Ideas why & what to do/where to start?
Read the book “Brain Energy” by Chris M. Palmer. It is about how mental illnesses are a metabolic disorder, and how you can restore your metabolism by changing your diet to a ketogenic diet (as well as by exercising, etc). I encourage you to change your diet to a ketogenic one, as it will really change your life. People have cured their schizophrenia and bipolar symptoms with it. There’s also a UA-cam channel called Bipolar Keto with testimonials. There is hope, my friend.
could be due to the positive effect on the gut microbiota, which in turn is shown to affect the gut brain axis in many ways. gut inflammation/gut leakage often leads to brain inflammation and bbb leakage. however one needs to be cautious if already disbiotic since the probiotics from the sauerkraut then also can contrubute to the chaos and make it even worse.
Why do you think it helped you? What kind of sauerkraut was it? BTW, UA-cam asked me to rate your comment. Are you a special UA-cam commenter or something?
Brain fog feels like a blank screen. Like you were "dropped" into your body all of a sudden and you have no idea of what's happening and what it all means. In my case I don't try to remember because my brain is not there to help me remember - my brain doesn't know how to remember, if I could make my brain remember, I wouldn't be in that state. You're in a state of "What's next?" You lose track of context. You could be in the car and suddenly you don't know why or where you're going, which city you're in, which exit you gotta take, if you passed it already or not, what do the pedals in your car mean...this all can happen in 5/6 seconds and then go away. You just keep driving hoping that it will all come back, but at that minute you don't know how it will come back! Because "remebering" is not something that you know how to do. ( This is my personal case, the 3 or 4 times this has happened to me)

I have a play-list on dementia recovery that might be of interest to you.

Hello Jaywalker, do you have any suggestions as to who might be offering similar services (diagnosis and treatment) on the UK? Thank you!
Hi mballer, I am interested to know of any services/practitioners in the UK who work in this field. Thank you!
I love your layered approach to caring for our bodies
Please forgive me for being so blunt, but it's no joke, it's your life.

what did you do please Frank ?

Best discussion on the subject I’ve seen. Thanks for posting this valuable information!
Mine was so so bad . I felt like less of a man. I couldn't think clearly at all, it was so frustrating. Went carnivore as an elimination diet. 5 months in I feel so great. Depression anxiety has gone away I can think so much more clearly. I can't even tell you how much I am ecstatic that I found about this
Jumping on a rebounder device!!! Exercises 😅
God bless you, doc. What a much-needed video. 🙏🙏🙏
Dr Raymond Perrin has been teaching this for 30 years for post viral fatigue
Cutting out all the hyper processed junk foods, sugar, seed oils, and especially in my case, everything else except for meat, my brain fog has drastically improved. Going carnivore was my last resort, and wish I had gone on it sooner.
carnivore made me worse since I needed rapid acting energy source.....also, too much all meat increases uric acid which is toxic. Balance - fruits, vegetables, meats, fish, water, electrolytes, prayer, service, patience, minerals, and get the &^^$ out of the system!
I felt good on carnivore then it stopped satiating me as long & I couldn't stomach anymore meat in the same day =/
@@Dan0rioN I’ve heard of people having periods of time where they just can’t stop eating. It’s part of the process as your body is becoming more in tune with what it needs. Could also be that you weren’t eating enough fat. Having 70% to maybe even 90% of calories coming from fat could be what one needs to prime the body with the nutrients that it needs. Hope you find what works for you !
@@Oblisk No I had plenty of fat..
I've been running on coffee for a while. I will put these things in place after this last assignment.
stop it depletes your calcium from your bones that was what i was doing for years no energy bad mistake try give up mine was processed phosphorus lose my calcium
You are definitely correct. I do that and recommend to others as a fitness trainer. No experimental vaccine for me.

On a ketogenic lifestyle, 5 pasture raised eggs a day, 4 mugs of black coffee, no sugar, 0 grams of grains, and no carbohydrates for two years---no more brain fog.. Feel very energetic and great..
@florianwurm4220 I might have this. How did you fix it?
Did you suddenly develop a gluten intolerance and have a brain fog and skin issues also anemia?@florianwurm4220

Good video.

I'm glad you are doing better than before,

Yes! Especially for those with EHS/electromagnetic hypersensitivity, which most of us with MCAS have. I feel like a zombie after too much screen time.

Sauerkraut every day.
One tablespoon.
Fixed my heavy duty brain fog within 2 weeks after one and a half miserable years.
could be due to the positive effect on the gut microbiota, which in turn is shown to affect the gut brain axis in many ways. gut inflammation/gut leakage often leads to brain inflammation and bbb leakage. however one needs to be cautious if already disbiotic since the probiotics from the sauerkraut then also can contrubute to the chaos and make it even worse.
Cabbit take if hi histamine sibo, celiac, ibs.. it's a killer
