Our previous Dr diagnosed my daughter with MCAS and getting her on some specific supplements really made a big difference for her A recent allergy dr we had to see before an implant surgery (to test for metal allergy) wrote in her file that he doubts that dx & she should be seen by the allergy dept (who will deny the dx bcs it’s not anaphylactic response) Dr in hospital post surgery this last week wrote that bcs she doesn’t have anaphylactic response to ibuprofen that the allergy should be removed from her file.. even though it was a very conventional MD at the university hospital in pediatric rheumatology who put it on there after he had wanted us to try NSAIDs as first line tmt for JIA. She did have a severe gut response but no anaphylaxis yet he still thought it should be added as an allergy. Drs really piss me off a lot of the time and really they can write anything they want in your file and it can be totally untrue but you can’t dispute it or have it changed or removed. Only thing is if you dispute it, if what you say is approved then it would just be added as a note, but no actual change to the info. Such BS

What does one due if they are low income and on Medicaid? Medicaid won't cover any of that testing. I know my son and I have MCAS from mold/water damage contaminants, from CIRS. We moved out of the water damaged rental to end up in another water damaged rental. I can't find a safe rental we can afford. What does one do to heal this when they can't escape toxic mold and bacteria. What do people like my child and I do? Just suffer? I know it will turn into a far worse illness. I feel doomed.

Should a methyl b be tried first from Seeking health?

For years I thought I might have MCAS. As I kept testing negative on the IgE allergy tests. And I have the skin writing + the EDS. But I was just to the allergist last week and tested positive to a bunch of things on skin prick. Including corn × wheat + barley. Corn is in everything! To test positive I had to totally AVOID the natural antihistamines...like TEA (and kombucha). I avoided it for 2 weeks before the test. Otyerwise I drink tea every day. Well its an antihistamine!! So a many common foods!! Herbs. The herbs found in those other tea drinks too - all natural antihistamines. You cannot test positive on skin prick if you are loaded up on these natural antihistamines! I only found out by reading Dr Laurence Afrin's book! He is a MCAS specialist.

I wish I could see Dr. A or someone equally aware of this disorder. I find this such a challenge to manage myself with no medical support. In August I was stung four times by wasps then in Sept I contracted covid (again) and that led to pneumonia. I was very ill for two months. I got over that crisis but now am reacting to all kinds of food and environmental substances. I live alone and my only assist are these videos that help me understand and give me hope. Like Dr. A said, I am one of those that react to many of the supplements recommended for MCAS. I feel like giving up sometimes, but, I don't. Thank you Dr. A and team for providing these videos. The allergist I got referred to told me my non igE allergies are not "real" igE allergies. Lol. A year later I said hey I think I might have this thing, MCAS, maybe you should take us patients on. Thank you SOOOO much for these. My primary care family doctor (General Practitioner ie GP) here in the UK has just been told about MCAS by a colleague and via text message read off a regime. My point, word is spreading fast. At last a CORRECT DIAGNOSIS. So now I'm half way to a cure. Going through the maze on this. Step one, gather information, step two run tests, step three find what drugs, diet and other regimes work for me. It's taken ten years of decline with Chronic Fatigue misdiagnosis so what's a couple more years finding what works. The point is now I have HOPE. Thank you for helping me navigate this with all the information you provide. PS I think over vaccinating and over use of legal drugs has a lot to do with triggering immune and hormone disorders.
