I was in High school when this came out. The "disco" era was in full bloom. My friends and I pretty much shunned that for what we really loved....rocknroll. Led Zep, Stones etc etc. But I did not know a single person, black or white, who didnt have this album in their collection. The groove was just so on point and they had everyone singing and dancing to their music. Maybe thats their greatest accomplishment though...the way their music pierced thru the color barrier. 1975-76 was filled with racial strife in my HS. But we could all agree on one thing. EWF was a cool band that we all wanted to listen to. I loved them then, i love them now...43 yrs later. Yep..we came together on a special day.... and they came thru loud and clear..
I only came across the music of Maze and Frankie Beverly in 1981 when the live I New Orleans album was released. I was a young fellow of about 13 years old then. Since then, they have guided my life for all of 40 years consistently. The passing of Frankie 2 days ago has saddened me greatly. May the ancestors welcome his beautiful soul henceforth. Love forever 🎤🎶
Man we came up in the most awesome music generation ever. Never be duplicated

RIP Maurice... Thank you for all that wonderful music.. It shaped my childhood.
Every time I listen to EW&F I am blown away This band just move my SOUL !!!!!!!! So amazing 👌👋🙏🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥♥️🔥🔥🔥🔥
I agree with you 100%. The Elements are the standard by which all other music is measure by.
Same with my high school 70 Thru 74, but we all loved us some Earth, Wind and Fire.☮️🙏🏿🌟💯
Same thing at my HS and I went to an all girl Catholic School (1975-78)
That harmony at the beginning was so beautiful and soulful.
Oh the good times I won't forget!!❤
