I like the way he takes his time, to explain the exercises, makes one want to hit the gym immediately 😊
Absolutely awesome.
im going to do that now
You are the first to explain that traps go down into the back between the lats. My friend does not believe me. I like your coaching style, very impressive.
Well, its takes few seconds to show him anathomy from some webpage, maybe he believes then, lol.
Definitely not the first.. probably the 100th honestly , but it's good info nonetheless
@@bogseI was about to say the same thing, it's not much of a secret... Simply basic anatomy.
Lol he doesnt?! You should bust out a page of the human anatomy next time hes doing Shrugs and hold it in front of him.
Lol the first....
Have you lived under a rock for the past decade of science backed gym content all making use of high detail diagrams of muscles of the human body.
The one muscle group that is rarely talked about though is the longissimus/erector muscles which run under the trapezoid down the spine.
Developing those hidden muscles really forces your traps to pop and strengthen since most people have weak erectors that relax the back and shoulders instead of keeping the shoulders back which activates and enhances the traps revealing their full diamond shape.
Hey, awesome video. When I started working out and following your videos, I was really skinny and had no confidence at all. I was doing some workouts here and there, but I quickly learned that I was missing good diet. I did a research, and I got myself a meal plan from Onlymeal. It was easy to follow, and my body responded really good to it - I managed to put some muscle on. I started out because of the girls, but now I don't care about them anymore. I do it to stay healthy, both physically and mentally.
I gained 20lbs in 3 months with their meal plan
@@DanialDavids that's awesome
Your change of mind might be even better than the change of your body 😁
@@jacksprat2333this why I never shower at the gym. That's how u become like op
I'm really unhappy with the lack of progress on the trapezius and was confused about choosing the exercises as well as performing them correctly, but now thanks to your clip, I'll have a chance to train them properly. Thank you for the tips!❤
you're welcome diddy
Thank you for this ! Been working on my traps and this will help. It's good to have a guy on here teaching, without all the hype and yelling like the others.THANX !!!
I've done the shrugs up and down as we were all taught, but I tried your seated back-leaning technique with retraction of scapula and I still feel my traps 8 hours later - I did three intense warmup sets of ten to failure with a moderate weight then one heavy set. It's like doing a bench press for your traps in the same way you do the pecs. Thanks Bro!
@@shawnchristopherwhite3271 that's amazing to hear. Love it when people actually try it and feel the results 👊🏻
All basic exercises calls for a variation... And Wesley gives the best info on this.
Thanks for the video. Finally, a nice person explaining what each muscle and exercise does. Great video.😁❤👍
And still Arnold Classic Champ
Nah dont know 🤔
For now..

I began my fitness journey about 8-9 years ago. I started off watching Buff Dudes, AthleanX, Scott Herman and Vintage Genetics. I've had a few hiccups along the way but I feel like I'm ready to dig back in a little. Glad to see Wesley still at it.
Have seen many videos about traps , but this guy simply gave the clear idea .Thanks CHAMP.
The way you explain it very nice slow and clear ❤❤❤
Bro! This is my first time watching you I just googled "best trap exercises" and your video came up! I'm doing these right now definitely feel it! Thank you for your time and knowledge! 💪🏾👊🏿
From Canada, you’re the man Wes!
Wesley your the best I have followed you for along time!! Classic physique is the way to go!!
Best advice I've heard anyone say "What works for them might not work for me". People think that what works for someone else, will work for them and they get discouraged when it doesn't.
Thanks I didn't know those exercises were just as effective.👍👍👍
Dont matter. Hes on heavy juice and you need to do as well to get bigger traps and muscles. Its all about juice
Wesley your skin quality is soo amazing ❤
Hey bro, gives us a skin care run down of what you are doing.
My bet he is doing at least, extremely optimized nutrition + full body red/NIR therapy + epic skin care moistureising rutine after he showers.
But who knows maybe he just have crazy genetics like that. I wouldn't be surprised considering how far he has taken his physique.

Dankie Wesley! Heel leersaam!
Thanks so much. I have been struggling with growing my traps since I started lifting 15 years ago. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Shrugs won't do it for me, I tried all angles, I also tried dead lifts but same thing, they get sore but they won't grow. Sometimes I don't train them at all because I got tired of trying to grow them without good results.
I have watched a lot of different youtube videos but nothing like your video here. This video made me realize more than ever before. I will try those exercises today. Thanks champ.
I think most people have problems with their traps. I hit traps for 25 years probably very heavy shrugs pretty much useless. I think what we just saw on this video should be incorporated. I also know that traps are so genetic. The people I know with great traps don’t do much more than six or seven sets a week a real travesty.
@stevenpiehl6199 it's a genetic thing. You can see people that never did traps before and they got traps already. Me I was born with wide shoulders and that are making it easy for me to build even bigger and wider shoulders but my traps are lacking.
I like to stand in front of the seated preacher curl machine with the weight stack and do shrugs. The angle of the bars helps you really feel it.
3:55 which and which type Mr. Vissers 😭
3:57 must be a D-Handle Bar or Parallel lat bar (with bended ends, not straight)
His editor forgot to add it in 😂
I came here for traps and ended with an ab workout, I have cramps😂🤣🤣
😂
I was in a plateau with my traps , these variations really made them grow thanks for advice
Wesley good to see you bud from Canada 🇨🇦
Love the way you coach! Explain things very clearly! 👊🏻
Thx Wes 🙏exactly what I needed 💪
Wes’ Sunday uploads are far superior than church
My fav BB. Very knowledgeable, undeniably jacked and humble.
Great selection, demonstrations, and explanations! 👍
Just did the 1st exersize with dumbbels while copying the movement. It is amazing how it works. These flying shoulderblades are the key!!!
Thank you brother
I'm from India and I will follow your traps training program.
Heck yeah Wesley! Kelso shrugs really brought my traps up. Dumbbells lying on incline bench and using MAG grip on a low cable. I'm old, 46, so I do 6 sets a week 13-20 reps 2-3 second negatives.
You come across in such a genuine way, like a kind person. Nice to see. Also great tips and info.
Finally some new motivation. Please upload more stuff again, no matter what 🙏❤️🙌🏻
This is pure gold, amazing work!
Go wesley ! Best vibes from brazil man !
Great video Wes!!!
this was the most helpful yt video i have watched in a long time. thanks, wesley!
Thanks for the vid! I'm feeling the pump for sure!
Best trap video on yt right here. Never heard traps broken down like this!
@1:34 The Best advice one can give!!
Sure is!
Very interesting technique, cham👍🏻this is what makes you the professional
Nice tips and explanations thanks 🙏
Love All ur videos.. gotta stay busy with my traps... gonna try with the dumbbells. Thanks you for your time and help.EDDY S.
I like Dorian Yates style of shrugs. Lean forward slightly a bend in the knees and you’ll get a similar contraction….. all traps activated!
Me too, easier to get a deeper stretch too when you lean forward a bit 👍
Yes, that is the correct technique.
kelso shrug
@@azrilsonshine9570 best way to finish chest supported rows. 🤌
Thanks Wesley, I love watching these tips and tricks. I do shrugs because everyone does them and always end up with left side neck pain.
Great advise. Thank you.
Bij mijn volgende sessie ga ik dit zeker eens uitproberen! Bedankt voor de mooie uitleg Wesley!
Great tips, will incorporate these exercises for sure. One thing that has worked well for me also is standing in front of a rack leaning forward slightly with a straight bar attachment behind my back from the bottom and shrugging up. Can really isolate the traps this way too.
Thanks Mr. Vissers 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
Goeie tips Wesley dank je. Vandaag gelijk is proberen
Great mechanical advise here. Easy to digest, engage with and incorporate. Thank you.
thank you for this! I just stucked with shrugs, recently looking for better exercises.
Excellent
Thanks
Goed uitgelegd!👌💪
thanks for this video
Thanks Man. ❤❤❤
OmG i tried the cable row leaned back neutral grip for the traps and WOW!! EFFECTIVE!! thank you 🔥🔥🔥
Happy new year Wesley. Looking incredible. Traps on point. Thank you for sharing your golden knowledge with us. England salutes you. 🇬🇧❤
The Key is concentration on BACKS! Thank you.
More tutorial Sir Wesley 🎉❤❤
This was very helpful! Thank you!
I learned something today, thank you.
wesley your work to the sport is v. good and i appreciate such content , thanks champ 😇
Thank you from Germany man. 🙏👍
Thanks for your help.
I needed this!
Thank you great ideas
I do like the different variety of exercises it's always good to hit muscles from different angles
Great video. Thanks for sharing!
Please do more videos with dumbbells.
Thank u ❤
Muchas gracias, así lo haré
Everytime I have trained the shoulders and/or traps one side is always much more sore than the other side, eventhough I did exactly the same exercise/stimulus for both sides. I know I am not the only person who have this experience each time.
Amazing ! Thanks Bro !
Great video!!! Very enjoyable!! Thank you.
Nice educational video 💪🏿
Thanks Wes, much of this I wasn’t aware of👍
Great video. Thanks for sharing ❤
Thanks boss enjoyed this video
I pretty much never trained traps, and I didn't know I could grow them so much. But it's actually one of the easiest muscle to develop for me, just training them once per week, with two types of exercises.
One more exercise I would add to fully complete the traps is a Y raise variation to really hit the lower traps.
Champion content . Tomorrow’s schedule for sure . Thanks for giving guidance for monday workout ❤
Great video brother, loving the new content ❤️
As always great content👍👍
Ooo mate you really got them !!! From last time i see you 👌👌👌
The last one that you did I did it just like that and it definitely burned within seconds with lightweight so yes I'm definitely going to do those
Love this kind of video’s!! 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻🔥
Great Tips! Thank you! Traps have been my hard gainer body part! I’m going to try these!
Lucky you, my hard gainer body part is everything below my chin ;)
What a unit!
Goeie tips. Dank je.
Thanks for these tips, Wesley.
thanks! wesely 💗💗💗
I love to do my shrugs seated on a bench, head pointed down. It can be a little weird on your neck sometimes, but it works wonders to target the whole traps
1:33 🔥Amazing piece of Advice ! 💪
Great tips Wesley I’ll try these next time 👌
Super video met goede. Tips 😊
Love your vids Wesley keep them coming . You have a great way of explaining how to train, and in turn it’s easier to understand. You asked for suggestions, I m 56 now have you got advice for us older gym goers you could advise. Thankyou, Dean.
Excellent commentary.
Great content. Thank you Arnold champ🙂
