they still got it all these years later, and loved the stage and lights, I know some kids want to see the people from today, and I can understand that, but lets see if those kids bands are still around and rockin 50 years after there prime, in 50 years people will say, who is Kate Perry, Beyonce who, who is Bruno Mars, but in 50 years they won't say who is the Who, because they will still be relevant even then, but every generation has there idols, but how many of them will be relevant 50 years from now, so i'm glad that my generation got to enjoy real rock bands like the Beatles, Stones, Jimi Hendrix, The Who, Led Zeppelin, Queen, Aerosmith, Pink Floyd, and I could go on and on, so many great bands, and now there seems to be so few that are worth mentioning, I hope that rock bands make a come back, but even if they do, it won't be like the bands of the 60's and 70's, it's not just the music, it's the Vibe that was captured in the recordings
Oh my god, I'm having an eargasm right now!!! Came back here because I needed to remember the time half time shows were good.
Who else is watching the best halftime shows before super bowl 51
Right here with ya! WHO ARE YOU, no song like it live or on a radio!
BETTER to be sloppy and really live (vocals and guitar) than to have to fake it and be "perfect". Rough is rock and roll. It was stunning in person, LOUD and huge... the stage took up the whole midfield, no room for a crowd.
As difficult as it is to truly argue greatness, The WHO is without a doubt worthy of contention for the title "the Greatest Band to ever walk the stage"!!!
This is my first time actually watching this halftime show and I'm legit entertained. I didn't even know much about their music as well. About to start searching more into them.
Damn, I forgot how essential the Who was... IS to rock! Won't let that happen again. So many anthems from one band.
I miss Entwistle.... They've lost the thunder they used to have....
haytham kenway
The Thunder was missing.
Lights! Wow!
Pino is just as good in his own right as Jeff Beck
Pino is good but he's a fretless bass player
Well at least he's kind of bassist they need right now
True. Thunderfingers is truly missed. Very hard to replace.
It takes us old guys to teach the young kids what real music is.. one of the best bands in the world giving one of the best super bowl performances ever.. I saw the who in 2007 .. harbor Yard Bridgeport Connecticut unbelievable concert.. my girlfriend was always into the stones not into the who.. but after this concert she loved the who! .. still one of the best bands in the world
The Voice, the music, the Lightning .... but most of it. The people who sing all the words. Amazing
You know what I think?
Bruno Mars was alright
Beyonce was okay
I barely remember Madonna
Coldplay, Beyonce, and Bruno Mars together were pretty good
Black Eyed Peas were absolutely horrible
But this?
This is gold. By far the best halftime show I've ever seen. That version of Baba O'Riley is pure magic!
watch u2 one
@@MsQUDSIA Prince was insane aswell
i didnt like the justin one he needs to gear up a bit.
yes i agree
Watch the one with Bruce Springsteen and the E-Street Band .... as classy as it can get for the Superbowl!
Wow, this is better than I remember it being when I watched it live on T.V. Roger sounded great!
Unforgettable. Complete legends
This actually feels like a genuine Super Bowl rock concert
We need more half time performances like this at every Superbowl, okay? Yes, okay
one of the best Superbowl halftime shows ever. The Who crushed it! Can't wait to see them at JazzFest this year!
Get the Classic Rock Bands Back, That's What Everyone Gets Up About, Not the "Bubble Gum" Groups!!!
Britain produced the 5 greatest bands ever -
Zeppelin, the beattles, the who, Pink Floyd, and the Stones
Those are the 5 bands who represent rock divinity
Gary a How about Queen and Genesis (Peter Gabriel era) ?? :/
TBrocks13 great bands but they're not greater than the 5 I mentioned
Gary a
I respect your opinion, but I disagree. I would have at least put Queen amongst the top 5, but the question is who will have to be removed? I believe a top 5 is too small. Anyway, good day to you, sir. :)
TBrocks13
Yes Queen is there, without question. Genesis, however, is not quite up to the same level as these first 6 mentioned, IMO. But you're also right, who of these 5 would be bumped down to #6 to make room for Queen? I don't know....
Now this, this does put a smile on my face. Because this was first half time show I experienced on TV. True masterwork of talent.
Had to come back to this one to remind me how a GOOD super bowl halftime show is done.
they still got it all these years later, and loved the stage and lights, I know some kids want to see the people from today, and I can understand that, but lets see if those kids bands are still around and rockin 50 years after there prime, in 50 years people will say, who is Kate Perry, Beyonce who, who is Bruno Mars, but in 50 years they won't say who is the Who, because they will still be relevant even then, but every generation has there idols, but how many of them will be relevant 50 years from now, so i'm glad that my generation got to enjoy real rock bands like the Beatles, Stones, Jimi Hendrix, The Who, Led Zeppelin, Queen, Aerosmith, Pink Floyd, and I could go on and on, so many great bands, and now there seems to be so few that are worth mentioning, I hope that rock bands make a come back, but even if they do, it won't be like the bands of the 60's and 70's, it's not just the music, it's the Vibe that was captured in the recordings
This and U2 are the best halftime shows ever!!!! So much nostalgia!!!
Watching this in 2020. A real half time show
Hernest Conrad ageing rockers with their instruments plugged in
This was easily one of the super bowls greatest musical offerings. The energy..
Oh my god, I'm having an eargasm right now!!! After watching McCartney, Stevie Wonder, the Stones and now The Who in these older Super Bowl videos....I just realized I was born in the fucking wrong era with the wrong artists, and that I need to see Guns n' Roses and AC/DC together at the next Super Bowl soooo bad.....
I can just see Axl at the Superbowl.
GOOOOOOD FUCKING NIGHT
I want to see the performance , not a bleep for 15 mins ;)
That, and it would be the first time there was ever a riot at the Superbowl!
I'm 61 now and and believe me that the 70s fucking rocked x.
did the same right now and was thinking exactly the same.
Kaylasa JaguarStar good to know somebody so young can music from the soul
The most Epic Half Time Show Ever, sorry MJ, but The Who is The Who.
They're both amazing, and Michael made the Super Bowl an event to watch, just saying.
but who is MJ?
Michael Jackson
+Carlos Espinola the doors was the best half time ever.
the doors? hahahaha
When you were raised on CSI so you end up being the only kiddo who knew who The Who were at the Super Bowl that year. SO GOOD!!!
no gimmicks...just pure performance. ❤
MY GOD THEY FUCKING ROCK!!!!RIP KEITH AND JOHN...
Unreal and awesome- Long Live the Who one of the Best Bands ever period...
I had never seen this before because the halftime shows usually sucked. This is truly a perfect example of what true rock is all about. Raw power, imperfection that makes it perfect. I love these guys and Who’s Next will always be the greatest rock album of all time.
Great post. I agree with you. When I watched them play that day I was convinced that it was the greatest Superbowl performance ever to me. Pure rock n roll !
I have to say by far this one of the best super bowl shows ever
Watching this NOW!
+Cintara Sukapatna Have fun!!!
75 thumbs down? Obviously these people have no idea what really music is.
of course they don't, they are 13
LOL I'm 13 and I don't consider this music; I consider it art.
Paul Roberts its now 293 dislikes
And only 8k likes
And the dislikes might get bigger as pop music becomes worst
Ahh the days when performers were chosen for their talent rather than their ability to shake their ass for the camera.
I love this and I liked JLo and shakira performance too!
CBS crime dramas CSI: Crime Scene Imcestigators, CSI:Miami and CSI:New York all have a The Who song for their theme song. In 2010 CBS broadcast the Super Bowl.
Really? ua-cam.com/video/Gu9HhYv0C7E/v-deo.html at 1:55 townshend literally starts shaking his ass
If you find that sexual it’s not learn others people culture and their dance before you say anything and for a fact JLO only show her ass once. The Who’s are musically talented but JLO and Shakira dance and sing. Also Shakira is a world wide icon. Made 2 World Cup songs, performed at them. Don’t degrade them because they have so much talent
@@rodniylenz4796: YES, I do, and besides you had 8 year old kids watching the Superbowl. JLO and Shakira's performance was too provocative for the Superbowl.
All the while, Pino is just kind of chillin in the back, doing his head bob thing, absolutely killing it.
hey guys,,who wanna see Pink Floyd or Led Zeppelin in the next SuperBowl halftime show?? im sick of this katy perry or bruno mars shit music.......
I'd like to see iron maiden kick ass
If pink Floyd reunited for the halftime show...my head would literally explode.
tony datiger As much as I would love to see the guys from Floyd do any kind of show together, even if it's just for one song, I bet you that they'll all give music up altogether before playing the super bowl. tbh this unique attitude of theirs is part of the reason I love 'em so much
tony datiger Well, we certainly want to trade popular stars for groups with small cult followings. That'll pull in the ratings ... like the Who walking through their 30-year-old hits with electronic voice assistance.
Eliezer Pennywhistler "small cult followings" HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
That's how it's done. The best halftime show yet. What part of that do they not understand?
Love the Who and this was an epic halftime show! Still my favorite performance by any band before or since. So infinitely better than what those pop stars dished up in years to come. This is what real talent is all about, people! Rock on!
Love it🎸
I get a chill down my spine every time I hear "Don't get fooled again"
.
You'd think America would listen after 50 years of the new boss, same as the old boss.
Esos tipos son los mejores, aún con solamente dos integrantes originales dieron un show excelente; de lo mejor en la historia del SB
Who else came here for a palette cleanser from Adam Levine?
i am here sir!
Me
VladValadnikov me
He'll yeah this was and still is the best halftime show The Who rocks
No sweet victory this year so I came here for The Who!
Just want to point out, that's s 66 year old Roger Daltrey rockin' the vocals like it's 1969! Amazing!!!
