Roberta Flack - Killing me Softly. Absolutely beautiful. This version started out the same but then changed. Copied and pasted - ("Killing Me Softly with His Song" is a song composed by Charles Fox with lyrics by Norman Gimbel. The lyrics were written in collaboration with Lori Lieberman after she was inspired by a Don McLean performance in late 1971.) - Don McLean is famous for the epic song - AMERICAN PIE -and it is a MUST HEAR. It talks about historical events and people. You would have to google all the references. The day the music died is part of it.
You might be thinking of the version from the legendary Roberta Flack. But not many people know the original singer of this song is Lorie Lieberman. She never made it big like Roberta or Lauryn, but she song this song beautifully as well.
This song go hard back in the day can still go hard to this day they got another track called oh lalala and a track called ready or not one of the sickest beats I've ever heard and a track called Nappy Heads check them out
I always hate the fact that no one ever told me this was a cover song. It is. And the original is very pretty too. I think the reason she wasn't in more BEPs was because she was HELL to work with. She was up her own ass etc. Her live shows today are not doing well. At all.
Oh my Gosh if you like movie fights you should check out scenes in two movies if you haven’t yet…Cooley High Harmony & The Last Dragon. That was a GREAT album. She won awards across the board. She beat Madonna out in every category. Madonna’s face was stunned. Madonna did admit she had the CD too. Lauren played in the Movie Sister Act 2 at which she sang, & no one knew who she was then.
Lauryn DID release a 2nd album...a live acoustic set performed on MTV's Unplugged. It was generally regarded as a disappointment, as it featured her performing new material that she was still working through and featured only her solo vocals and her playing acoustic guitar. Considering how wildly popular and well produced the debut album was, expectations were super high. It was NOT the album most people expected. She had also taken a harder turn towards her spiritual and radical side....the album was not aimed for the pop audience that she had captured with the success of the previous album. That said, she did endear herself to her grass roots audience with the new musical identity, and there are some engaging performances to found on that album. Definitely worth a listen....with an open mind.
One of the all time best covers. The original was already fire !
"Doo Wop (That Thing)" by Lauryn Hill. Fantastic!

The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill is the name of her album. You have to react to the song Ex- factor from that album.
She-GOAT. Sorry Nikki
