The first time I heard Lauren Hill was on the movie “Sister Act 2” and I was picking my chin up off the floor…her voice was incredible. She was singing “His Eye Is On the Sparrow” with such emotion, it was beautiful. “Ode to Joy” was incredible and got me up out of me seat dancing (after the solo which was beautiful).
Both versions are tremendous in their own ways. Beautiful and classics to the ear with each generation gap of respect. Much love and respect to the song 💞

The Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill is a fantastic album. I don't know, maybe she just wants out of that life and just be there for her kids. And more power to her if that's her choice. I remember Gimbel because he also wrote "Sway" and "The Girl From Ipanema" which were songs I sang in choir when I was in high school. He also wrote a lot of Broadway musicals and movie themes. Such a talented songwriter.

Roberta Flack heard Lori's excellent song and she covered it. Roberta was not involved in the writing nor did she sing the original but untill today she receives all the credit instead of Lori.
