I'm probably your oldest subscriber (70 yesterday!), but I wanted to say, please never apologize for who you are - you are wonderful!! I enjoy your decorating tips and shopping adventures, but I watch because I enjoy your personality so much!!
Hi, Caroline. I was amazed by the framed watercolor you show at 13:19 because I recognize the place in the painting. It is Passau, Germany, a city close to my home. If you search images for the title of the artwork, "Donaulände", you will find photos showing the river cruise ships as well as the buildings and steeples that form the skyline. Donaulände means Danube Park, and there are several places with this name dotted along the river. Passau is one of the most famous ones because three rivers merge together there, and Linz, Austria, is another one. I just thought you might like to know a little about the art you chose. I'm originally from Massachusetts, but moved to Austria in '94, near Linz, and I have been to Passau many times! Love your channel and enjoy your commentary. Keep up the great work.
had to stop to see it again closely as well - I'm Austrian and lived in Linz for some years and was not sure in which angle that could be Linz...so thanks for saving me time to search for where this Donaulände is at :)
I’m 6’2 and I hang things high because it’s my house, I’m the one looking at it, and I don’t want to stare at the top edge to accommodate the rest of the world 😂
1st...as a government employee who leaves work every day at 2:30...just be aware I start work at 6am. LOL! Also the low glass bowl used as a vase is so gorgeous. Love your eye for unusual pieces being used in unusual ways. It's what makes your personal traditional style pop for me. Love you and your stuff. Keep posting. You are amazing.
Lisa Martin, my condolences for all the Saturday mornings you didn't get to sleep in. My dad worked for the Department of the Interior in the 70s and 80s, but at least in that job he still got Saturdays & Sundays free. Take care of you!!
Re: guilty feelings with Mr. Henry street. I relate. You could send that man flowers. You could bring him one of your arrangements next time in Virginia. Sometimes kindness is the beginning of a beautiful friendship. He just made the first move. Ok I am editing myself. That last comment was waaay Hallmark. I hope that you see through that and know that it's meant to be ------ insert however you take this.
You scored big time.. I am 73 years old and I only starting thrifting about 7 or 8 months ago. I have recently embraced Boho Decor and the Thrift Stores are a gold mine for scoring Vintage pieces. I have having a ball with it.
Per your suggestion I stopped by Henry Street Antiques when I was in Alexandria this past weekend. Paul was such a kind gentleman and I found this beautiful portrait of a Japanese woman in a kimono painted on silk. There was a portrait of a man too but I was really only interested in the lady. He told me that they were a married couple and I could tell he hoped to keep the set together, so he offered me a great deal on the other painting so that I could take them both home. Loved this shop!
I'm sure Paul from Henry's Antiques would tell you he's running a shop and not a museum. Not only was he able to make the sale, he scored an A+ recommendation and possibly a repeat customer. While the other shops had lovely things, they didn't make the sale. I guess I'm recommending that you let go of your guilt. They were able to make some money, you got a deal that made you happy and your place looks great. It's a win-win-win.
Hi Caroline! I discovered your channel about a month ago and you are exactly what the world needs. It makes me happy to see your subscriber count grow literally every day! I predict that someday you'll be a household name. Specifically, I could totally picture you hosting a design show or gameshow someday. Maybe a design gameshow? Love your honesty and humor. It's also refreshing not to see barn doors or shiplap...Keep doing what you're doing!
Hello Caroline, Had a fun time thrift shopping with you today. And, I must say, the way you wrapped frames around that corner by the FP was genius! Everything looks great!
@@Caroline_Winkler awwwwww, thank you Caroline, too sweet! And I did watch the 1st part of the bedroom makeover at your Mom's. I had actually seen it before and really like it. And wow, all those trophies. But am not surprised! You are undoubtedly superior at anything you put your mind to. Looking forward to seeing Part 2 of the makeover. Loved the mirrors above the nightstands!!! And a good tip about making a room look larger. You go girl!
Caroline I just love your energy! "I am a lot ruder in person" is probably a disclaimer I should put anywhere as well :D Beacause in a world where everyone is their edited self online, you have this fresh, bold energy that I like spending time with . Thanks for that! :)
I always look forward to your videos❤. I've been struggling with my identity after dealing with the pandemic and then cancer. Your videos have helped me feel so much more optimistic. I can't explain why but thank you!
I worked at Goodwill for longer than I care to admit but we always had a staggering amount of artwork. A lot of 90s still life's and what looked to be failed 4th grade art projects. But every once in a while, there would be a nice watercolor or vintage print or clown portrait. Never knowing what you'd fine was definitely part of the allure for a lot of people
Can I just say you've been a breath of fresh air. I'm 67 been decorating and redecorating my whole life, just ask anyone that knows me. You candid approach is youthful, inspiring, and real. We all have our stuff to deal with. Keep up the good work!
Omg you were in my neighborhood!!! I live in Old Town and absolutely adore it there. Next time you go, I’d recommend checking out the Torpedo Factory by the riverfront! It’s a great to shop original art pieces directly from the artists at a variety of price points (they sell originals as well as prints and printed canvases that usually run for much cheaper). Such an incredible array of artistic styles too. I’m gonna have to check out Henry Street Antiques now! 😁
Your lust for original artwork doesn’t need to be shelved till your income gets better. Consider buying student art. Attend some art school shows, there’s a lot of really great works to be found by some folks who are bright, innovative, talented……and poor! Also, keep being your hilarious genuine self! We love your channel!
Loved the flowers and the fact that you took these apparently so-so objects and made them beautiful in your apartment. The way you arranged things on the wall, gorgeous.
"Look at me assuming I'm going to heaven." 😂 Loved this video. And I also share your love of vintage glassware. Also, I'm betting Paul was thrilled that a young person appreciated his items. Don't feel guilty!!

Sold my house in Phoenix this summer and moved back to Central Kentucky, nearer to my children and granddaughters. Brought only what fit in my little sedan, which easily fit into the basement room I rented from my sister. I just wanna say how wonderful your content is. I just discovered your vids recently and have been watching all of them. You have such an authentic personality , feels like hanging out with a close friend.
Oh, yes--the balance of introspection and fury. I donate and shop at Goodwill. It's very pleasant and easy to donate there, and I appreciate that. When I'm shopping there, I try to have in mind the cost of things in real life. More than once I have seen a used item priced for more than it costs at Target (or somewhere else).

So happy you took some time off. Your eye for decor is amazing- constantly learning from you. Never apologize for who you are. We are here BECAUSE of who you are! Fantastic video as always!
I lived in your neighborhood 30 years ago & used to shop for cheap vintage furniture on Columbia Rd. in Adams Morgan. Probably not so cheap now. Great design tips mixed with introspection. 😀
This video had such good vibes. The way you showed the prices and the arrangements at the end was soooo good and a great reminder how affordable thrifting can be. Keep doing you!!
SO relatable! I LOVE the map. I have amassed a collection of original art and high-quality prints, practically all of it from thrift stores. I buy it when I find it, and I periodically purge. Also, your shopkeeper at Henry's was thrilled to send art to a good home; no need to feel guilty.
For the bowl, the trick to use it as a vase is to get a little bit of chicken wire and ball it up, and then floral stems have structure to stay put! Lots of good inspiration of you search for floral arranging videos.
I recently discovered your channel and I love it, I really enjoy your humor, your style as an interior designer and also the meaningful conversation you have "with us". As Pamela said in your comments : "I look forward to any future videos, created at your own pace".
Hi Caroline, I just subscribed to your channel based on a recommendation from Paige Wassel. I wanted to say I immediately loved your channel. Your personality and style are so refreshing. I will be binging all your content and happy to have found your channel

Introspection and Fury is an excellent band name. This was excellent. Everything about it hit!
I just found your channel…thank you!! You’re adorable and I love your decor style. You own it. The best home decor is decor that suits each individual.
Doh thank you🥰
So happy you took some time off.
You're such a joy and inspiration! I'm so glad you found some nice things. Thank you for sharing!
I agree with you Chris Myers except on one point. I was 70 in January!
Great choices you made. Your arrangements are so on point!!!
The reality is he knows you will come back and it's a win win for both of you. Enjoy
Introspection and fury!
Right on.
I love how the pieces all have a story even if they don't have a personal connection.
I am in the DC area and will def be visiting Henry St. Antiques so no more guilt!!
You can also do it with twiggy branch. Someone sent me flowers and the florist did that.
Haha, Your subscribe speech in the car is golddd!
Lol ty. Makes me cringe every time I say it
"journey is priceless" ❤
I recently discovered your channel and I love it, I really enjoy your humor, your style as an interior designer and also the meaningful conversation you have "with us". As Pamela said in your comments : "I look forward to any future videos, created at your own pace".
Your spirit is electric
