Luv this so much! Even if in a creative field, if i want to do a different genre of art, have to sit still for a time to have any bolt of "originality" on other topic. Hard lesson, and actually a relief.? Society values productivity to our detriment, maybe.
for me I'm always the most creative when I have absolutely no time to bring all the ideas to fruition. It's so frustrating!
My advice to myself is to do 3 things that terrify me each year. Sometimes I feel like I have to force myself to grow and try new things. I think it’s the best gift to myself. And I never care if I fail. I figure just trying is a win. You are just so fun. I love watching these. My kids are grown, I don’t feel like I have the same style as you, I’m married, and live in the middle of nowhere, on a farm. Hard to figure out what we might have in common, but it doesn’t matter. I just look forward to your videos and think you have a way of communicating that is genuine and real. I hope you never tire of doing them.

I’m loving your videos, Caroline and have pretty much binge-watched them until there ain’t no more. I’m so glad to hear you reflect in this one on the weirdness of dating apps as a way to find a life partner. You remind me so much of my 28 yr old daughter and I find myself praying for a better way forward for you, than swiping left or right. The dating updates are super funny & relatable as comedy, but I find myself liking you so much as a person that I want better for you in the long run than just comedic fodder. Solution? I dunno! But just sayin’ you got another mom out here wanting something good, real, true, purposeful and lasting for you, even if that means less laughs for me.🥴 And since I’m a praying woman, I will pray to that end . . .

I'm a Speech-Language Pathologist who works with kids who have developmental differences. In my field we call that "slightly uncomfortable but not so scary we shut down" area the Zone Of Proximal Development. That is indeed where the growth happens!
I understand your anxiety completely. I'm 33 and I still haven't worked through my moments like that. But when a full-scale war started in my country (I'm from Ukraine), it became much easier to overcome my insecurities 😁 Because, despite the fact that I still live at home and in a safer part of my country, the probability that my life will end very soon is very high. And this, perhaps, is the strongest possible motivation to do something that you would not dare to do in normal life. I wish you never have my motivation. it's better to procrastinate😁

I have soooo much party anxiety girl my biggest fear is that no one will come tho so thinking through that worst case scenario is just depressing. Also dude you are SO likable. I watch every one of your videos and they always leave me feeling content or contemplative in some way, like I’ve gained something from watching them (which is rare for UA-cam I think) Also its so helpful to see someone who models active self care, and shares pieces of their life/struggles/anxieties AS THEYRE HAPPENING not in hindsight :) You rock! My favorite quote or saying really isn’t even anything but my 6 year old woke up and first thing in the morning she says, “I changed a lot this year. I cut my hair. I lost some teeth. I went to kindergarten. But I am still the same person.” And I get so happy thinking about her wisdom. She’s changing but content and happy because she knows she’s still herself!!

Love what you did with the lamp shades. Rust has become one of my favorite colors within the last couple years. I bought a couch about a year ago and fell in love with it because of the rust color. So glad your picnic turned out so well and you enjoyed it.

I watched this video last week, but I wanted to come back and say how I really resonated with how you talked about/felt about your birthday and the stress and anxiety involved in planning something for yourself like that. I’m reupholstering my headboard because it’s a hideous grey color (but I love the shape) and I was going to pick a solid color, then remember Caroline’s fabulous wallpapered ceiling and went with a William Morris patterned fabric! I’m so excited!
