It's also dangerous to have them as pets, not just for the animal, but for the human. Remember the lady that got her face ripped off? Yeah, not a pleasant story.

Poor Ella. It's so sad to see and hear of so many baby chimps being orphaned by the slaughtering of their mothers. Because of Illegal bush meat and pet trade. The country needs to crack down with harsher punishments for this. My hope for Ella and all orphaned chimps is for them to be rescued and the end of the slaughtering of chimps. They deserve to grow up in groups with their mom's in the wild.💝

Boco Corwin i know i sound liek everyone else but I have a pet snake that I love to death, and I would never had owned one but they were being horribly mistreated along with the other reptiles this breeder owned, very sad I couldn’t save them all, I just don’t have the money or time but I did save one! And don’t worry I did tons of research before hand she’s a great eater and loves cuddles 🥰🐍

It is beyond me why anyone would want to keep a chimp as a pet. Sure, they are beautiful, fascinating animals, but they are hunters. I think a lot of people forget, or just don't realize, that chimps hunt down, kill, and eat the brains of monkeys on the regular. Yet people who keep them as pets are sooooo surprised when their chimp tries, or succeeds in ripping someone's face off. They are omnivorous predators. Leave them in the wild.
giving up the truth isn’t being stretched at all. Have you ever seen an adult/teen chimp, they’re like 80% muscle (not literally but you get the gist). Out in their natural habitat they hunt for sport in packs, as a social event, kind of like human hunters. Difference is that their bare hands are their weapon and they can rip their victims form limb to limb. As you probably already know, they’re highly social animals, intelligent too. Combine that with their strength and you have a weapon of massive destruction. This is an innate trait, so imagine how they would react when they’re being kept as pets and denied of their nature. Eventually they’ll lash out and go crazy. Wild animals are wild for a reason!!
giving up on top of that, their diet is mainly herbivorous, with the exception of termites and insects. Hunting is purely a sport for them, for social stimulation and to impress the rest of their tribe. When they’re young adults they’re especially destructive so it’s not hard to believe that they would rip someone’s face off, even unprovoked
Mixi pretty sure they don’t do that regularly or are taught to do that from the wild or are doing this from being held captive from bad zoos, Chimps are smart, they are the closest animal to humans, we eat meat regularly (some) and we’re out here in the wild
@@momusbopus4752 No they are VERY violent in the wild and eat meat naturally in the wild.They are omnivores, so they HAVE to eat meat to live. And they KILL animals to get meat.

There should a law that people should go to jail for murdering chimps like people murdering people.
Every time I see that a video’s content is another story about what this woman and her veterinary husband do to rescue/rehabilitate chimpanzees and educate the public, I never scroll past, I must watch it!
