Why you should play the Lance in MHW Iceborne
Trying Lance at first thinking it was like boxing. You got the stabby jab, the back hop, the parry, the wide swing, and the iron guard. Then you discover the infinity dash jump, wall run, bungee counter guard and realize it was WWE all along.

Yeah I don't have to charge shit, manage shit, or ever stop POKING. What people don't seem to realize is that the lance is meant to poke nonstop. If you ever stop you're doing it wrong.

@@kaelsith yeah a well used longsword is a better defensive weapon than lance lol. I'll take I frames over gaurding any day. And obviously better offensively as lance does baby damage

That's with full divine blessing secret... So basically if you want the lance to work how it should and be a real tank you have to have max guard, guard up and max divine blessing... Shit weapon. Hope they buff it for rise
Joe Sheridan It can stay close to the monster easier than other weapons. It’s damage isn’t that good compared to other weapons, but it’s better than you think. I mean it’s better tthan just spamming charge. People are just bad lol.

When I started MHW, Post Iceborne, I honestly never wanted to play the Lance. Seemed boring and simple. After picking up it really is insanely strong and versatile. TTK is lower, but the amount of things you can do for survival, mobility and counters makes up for it. Love the vids

Don’t forget you can actually mount monsters almost as easily as the IG by jumping while doing the charge
Not only that, but a Lance player is almost necessary on your first fight against behemoth to act as a tank
Jokes on you, I AM the Lance player. I also use IG too. Occasional Hammer Bonk is fun tho.
Jokes on you, my divine protection proc rate against monsters mixed with my max eat speed and free meal allows me to be the shieldless tank!
If dad taught me anything is that eating your way out of situations is by far the safest option.
Also I almost never run out of max pots.
sns also has a grounded mount (without glider clutch claw abuse)
Counter claw is the lance equivalent of “You really need to understand guard points to be good at charge blade”
I have used Charge Blade for a while in multiple MH games now, and I still think I never used a guard point correctly and intentionally -__-;

@@lystic9392 It's cool when you get it off but more often than not it's not 100% necessary in normal gameplay
You can just do the regular inputs for clutch claw and it won’t be the parry type where you have to time it right, you’ll just hold it there until you’re out of stamina or you’re hit and you claw on to them

300-I.Q. Prower Mate, the claw move has hyper armour too. If you get hit after you claw you still stick to them. It is literally the best claw move in the game. It doesn’t even require clutch claw boost. And it feels like totally tubular too mate.

There's something hilarious about the lance and how you can just take any attack because who the hell cares with a big ass shield like that.

I used to main lance in mh tri, then when I came to world I really didn't like it since all the other weapons got so much cooler, then when the fatalis fight came I couldn't survive with any weapon until I tried the lance again (because I was able to craft the shield deco) and fell in love with it, I feel so clean with it.
I don't play lance and nobody do but I see why one can appreciate such god like defense that block anything blockable.
With 2 pieces of Uragaan set on MR, you can turn unblockables into blockables

Today a lance user responded to my sos call, dude basically charge toward a savage deviljho the moment he appears, it was most glorious moment i've ever witness.
The spear rush is awesome and plus you can charge almost infinitely thanks to the back step my new favorite weapon with the insect glaive !

Ok so I started using HBG, but I sucked at managing the menu and ammo, so I went to LS, but I wasn't good at Foresight Slash, so I used GS I loved the weapon, however my second favorite is Lance just cause you can shrug off most blows and it's a good feeling.
The main reason to play lance:

Defence boost is made for one set only..Alattreon's when mixed with safi or namielle it's known for its ability to get decently close to safi's element without coalescence. (can quad k.o alatreon on dbs and sns) it makes you even more tanky while also increasing your element.

it's not everyone's cup of tea, and some people either like other weapons due to more DPS or damage in general, but if you know how to play lance, it can be devestating. Being able to block hits (at reduced/zero damage) that you may or may not be able to dodge can be a life saver.
