5:56 same here. Never thought I'd own a Kia / HMG product. I ended to with a Genesis gv70 EV lease. Love the flexibility of my 13 month lease to try the drivetrain, suspension, EV range etc.
I love my Kia's we have like four an Ev6, Sorento, Stinger and a Sportage for our daughter, would love to add an Ev9, but not in the budget. Totally underrated company , they are killing it recently.
@47:05 A PSA for everyone driving a modern car(EV or Gas) that has Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Keep Assist/Lane Centering: It is not self driving. The vehicle assumes you're in the driver seat, paying attention with your hands already on the steering wheel. Actual self-driving vehicles use a lot more tech than simple Lane keep assist + adaptive cruise control. Specific to this EV9, it isn't beeping at you when it loses sight of the lane because it is only providing assistance to the driver and assumes you're still in control of the vehicle. Both the EV6 and 9 will also monitor for movement of the steering wheel to determine if your hands are on the wheel or not. If it thinks your hands are not on the wheel, it will chime and put a warning on the screen to put your hands on the wheel. It's also really only intended for highway driving to ease driver fatigue on long journeys. Again, it is not a self driving vehicle and relies on the same Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Keep Assist/Lane Centering that most sedans and SUVs have today.
I got my EV9 a month ago for slightly more per month but I am loving my Land trim! Thanks for your videos covering this car, it's the only reason I got the car.
there may be some killer deals on off lease Kias in a few years! - We got our 2015 Nissan Leaf for $9k when it was 2 years old with 20k miles b/c they had so much off lease inventory.
KIA is a great competitor in the EV space. I'm really excited to see what they come out with in the future. The EV5 looks awesome, especially in the orange.
Coleton nailed the main gripes KIA/Hyundai vehicles have... lots of bings and bongs in the car for everything and the fact that their Cruise Control system DOESN'T bing or bong when the vehicle gives up on lane keeping... you only know it has given up control by looking at one symbol on the dash or the heads up display (which is hard to see with polarized glasses)
@curseknight5 It doesn't "bing" when it loses sight of the lane because it's driver assist. Not self driving. It assumes you have your hands on the steering wheel and are still driving the car.
@@theblubus my hands are on the wheel but doesnt mean im using strength to steer it if the car has auto lane assist. It costs KIA and Hyundai nothing to add an additional tone for lane keep assist meanwhile they bing and bong when the road is at 4 degrees celcius which is absolutely pointless.
Colton’s comments were very interesting. There looks to be a big difference between the VW and the EV9, size wise. Congrats on getting a great deal for a sharp car.
The new EV’s are a computer filled device that you can drive. I did not think I needed all the advanced features, but those were the ones that were available. Now I have all the features I really like the safety, ease and pleasure that the features help to give you.
Wow, just visited a Kia dealer b/c of Coleton’s previous great deal on his Ev6. Been looking at getting a Tesla model 3 LRRW, but if I can get a lease deal anywhere close to his on the Ev6 I would consider it instead of getting the M3. Actually, after driving the ev6, found it more comfortable than the M3, but the M3 was really more fun to drive. Unfortunately, I’m in Calif. , the dealer lease offer: $820/m , $3k dwn for the ev6 wind (non-awd). I told dealer about the FC Kia’s deal for Coleton, he couldn’t believe it, he’s going to check the YT video Coleton did on the Ev6 lease.
"Actually, after driving the ev6, found it more comfortable than the M3, but the M3 was really more fun to drive" Just the same with most otehr cars. More comfortable but booooooooring.
Those shopping for or buying a car should know: just because you end up leasing the car doesn't mean you're not paying the depreciation. The depreciation losses of you driving a brand new car for a couple of years and then returning it are built into your lease agreement. Believe me, the dealer is not eating the depreciation I never behalf: You're paying for it either way whether you buy or lease I think the reason people like to lease is they know what the costs are going to be for depreciation ahead of time for the most part and can financially plan on that. But it's not a free ride, just so everyone knows
Did you lease the Ionic 6? I'm on the $349 lease deal myself, but I'm disappointed since It's not a hatchback and not even close to the roomy feeling of a SUV.
44:54 I just realized I'm never gonna go back to the touch screen Ui interaction again after trying the Genesis center console switch knob / rotary dial for the past few months with my gv70 EV with same software interface
Kia is offering a lot of cash discounts on EVs. Plus, this does not include the trade-in value of your old car, military status, or current Tesla owner. If you play with the payment calculator, you can get some good deals especially leases. Another thing to consider is that each state has incentives too for adopting EVs. You have to do your research and find them.
I like the AWD wind trim. Matt black around the wheels, manual bench seat in the second row, all the goodies I want except the heads up display. And cheaper. But not cheaper than buying an ev in Colorado.
Honestly it is more inconvenient but as long as you are comfortable troubleshooting and planning ahead it's not too bad, I've road tripped in a tesla, rivian, bolt, and leaf. Maybe its leaf that makes me think ccs isn't that bad.
Wow that’s crazy also Nissan is doing a great deal on the electric ariyas in Colorado as well I believe I think it’s a $199 payment and their also expensive in the 50ks
Here in Canada same spec is 1000 usd per month for a l3 years lease with 10000 miles per year .. Something is really wrong in this side of the border... Leasing EV makes a ton of sense for the depreciation of the car.

The EV price has stabilized and so wouldn’t it be better to outright buy an EV. You still get those incentives while buying one. A Model Y 7 seater would discount the price by 12-13 thousand at the point of purchase and still keep the car for the same monthly payment.

So $425 per month (not counting time value of 3k) for only 10k miles max a month. Price seems great but 10k is the deal breaker. I see zero point in getting a new car that you want to drive, in a place like Colorado where you can easily put in a lot of miles. And 2 year lease is really too short imo.
