    The Essence recommendation was just what I needed. A few weeks ago I did a DIY Gyeon q2 Mohs ceramic coating on my brand new (not even a month old) black Tesla Y P. Over the next few days, I noticed that there were high spots all over.....needless to say, I was pretty depressed about it and regretted the DIY job. At the two-week mark, I hand-washed the vehicle to see how bad it looked. I could see everything. I watched a bunch of videos (high spots are not an uncommon problem I found)....and your solution fixed every area that looked bad. I went ahead and did the entire car (by hand!) so it was even. Thank you for the relatively easy fix. Life saver.

    You wouldn’t need to wet sand . Compound will take any coating off , but also when you do fix high spots your suppose to redo that whole panel that has the high spot

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  3 роки тому +2

      Hi. Well using Carpro Essence or Essence Plus does not remove the coating altogether. In fact it levels it, and adds a little to it. So no need to re coat the entire panel again. That's the great part about using those products. But again it depends on the type of coating. some are to hard to remove in this way and do require wet sanding, like Gtechniq CSL and CSU.

    • @seabrew1
      @seabrew1 3 роки тому +1

      @@MirandaDetailing Is CSL that much harder the c.quartz? I polished off 2 layers of c.quartz with my griots G15, rupes yellow and 3D1. It was about 3 or 4 days old but applied outside.

    You like essence better vs essence plus for high spots?

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  2 роки тому +2

      Cool! How long had the high spots been on there? So Essence and Essence plus are slightly different products so each has their place. Essence has some abrasives in it and can actually act as a medium/fine cut polish and it does have some sio2 in it also. So it can be used as a primer for coatings. But you have to wait 24h before you coat the vehicle. Essence plus has no abrasives in it so it’s used to remove high spots without removing the coating.

    For application of the G5 Glass Sealant, can it be done with a DA? Or easier to do by hand for the ease and speed rather than machine? Notice on the wipe-off was after 30-minutes and seemed easy enough but did smear. Does using a moist MF towel with glass cleaner help?

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  3 роки тому +2

      Hi. I’m sure you could apply it with a da polisher. That actually may spread it thinner. But yes I have used a slightly damp towel for wipe off. Or a mist of C2v3 is even better.

    Hello Phil and Jess. First i am no pro detailer, just detail my own car. Beading on a car is all very pretty, but you still have water left on the car which can dry out and leave marks in hard water areas. Is it not better to have a product which sheets the water off and leave a dryer panel. there always seems to be a emphasis on beading and not sheeting are there products that will sheet the water of the car ?

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  3 роки тому +2

      Hi. Great question! So I have found that as long as one dries the vehicle quickly, water spots are never an issues. But water spots from rain are not hard water spots and we have found that they are easily removed. But sheeting is great and everything also. But even with a high beading product one can learn to flood the panel and sheet dry the paint. One doesn’t need a sheeting only product to minimize water spotting. But again to each their own. We don’t have issues with water spots so it’s not a problem for us.

    • @greymark420
      @greymark420 3 роки тому +1

      @@MirandaDetailing Thanks for the answer Phil. Where i live in the UK, if i detail my car and it rains, then the car beads because of protection. When the sun shines that beading dries and causes marks on the paint. If the water was sheeting from protection then there would be no marks when the car dries from being exposed to the sun. Hope that makes sense.

    • @MirandaDetailing
      @MirandaDetailing  3 роки тому +2

      You’re welcome. Oh another thing I have found is that sheeting products will still bearing water depending on elbow the water is applied onto the panel. I have experienced that before. The water won’t sheet off perfectly when it rains, it will still bead a little. But true it will sheet more than anything and leave the panels more dry.

    Really important to flush all the Ceriglass out of the glass. Wet towel works good. Then a good clean with glass cleaner or I use a 50/50 mix of 99% ipa and distilled water. Taping the edge of the glass and covering the rubber moulding before polishing glass is recommended.
